Another scene that should be in stormlight archive book 5

There is a commotion outside the tower. Even though there are 10 days left. Both sides are going to be making moves.

Kaladin sees the early signs of conflict and is worried. Humans and singers are about to clash. They had been called to discuss a seize fire but on both sides there are those who bent on fighting.

Kaldin looses it. In a fit of cold rage he jumps into the sky.

"Windrunners!" He calls out. Tho he no longer A soldier. Every windrunner and squire joins him in the sky without question.

"There will be no more fighting" kaladin roars. His voice like the storms. Eyes ablaze with a tint of red.

"In 10 days the war will end. There are many among you who just want to life. You are free to join us. I and all of the windrunners will protect you. Humans or singer or anyone. And if you wish to fight we'll fight you too"

A regal flie out to attack kaladin but he finishes him swiftly.

Then slowly the murmmers die down.

Kaladin calms and gets back to the clinic like nothing happened.

Some time later kaladin is walking through the tower when we sees solders rushing forward. Some singers had accepted their offer to enter the tower till the war ends. Many had returned to alethkar.

He grunts as he goes to investigate. Queen is there surrounded by guards. Who are facing singers with spears who are defending somebody on the ground.

Moash.

Kaladin suppresses the surge of anger. Looking at his former, now blind friend. Surround by singers.

"The traitor needs to be punished for his crimes" navani says.

The singers object. These are the singers that kaladin had helped. They see him but say nothing. They are still bitter with him.

"We won't let you take him" the singers yell.

"He is a traitor and dangerous. We cannot let him roam free" snarls a solder.

"Leave him in our care. We will take full responsibility for him. He... he's our friend"

Kaldin is torn.

Just then an impatient solder rushes out to attack the singers. Before kaladin can interfere. The singer disarms the solder and subdues him on the floor.

A move that kaladin recognized. The same move moash used on kaladin when kaldin had tried to go after dunny.

Kaladin steps forward glowing which shuts everyone up before a fight can break out and asks, where the singer learned that move.

The singer answers that moash taught them. That he helped them and protected them when kaladin betrayed and left them so they wouldn't be helpless.

Everyone is silent before kaladin advises singers to keep a close eye on moash from now on and walks away while moash makes a snide remark but kaladin keeps walking.

I'm on Words of Radiance right now and I gotta say,

I just love Kaladin, like he has a mysterious past that he isn't interested in talking about, and he has like no respect for anyone who hasn't personally earned it, and clearly wants to be left alone forever. But he sucks at getting people to ignore him.

Like first of all, he looks everyone in the eyes, even people so far above his station. He has an impeccable posture and presence at all times, even without considering the whole stormlight thing which apparently can make you look prettier/more saturated in the world. He has slave scars marking him as dangerous and just pretends that he's basically of a station to light-eyes. And he barely even remembers to call the King 'your majesty', it's an afterthought at best and if the King believed that he actually had authority Kaladin would probably be dead. (Of course if the King was a stronger personality than maybe Kaladin would have shown him respect).

He wants to be left alone to die but has such strong sense of honor and empathy that he ends up caring about anyone that ends up in his vicinity for more than 5 min if they need help in anyway. He adopts Renarin grudgingly likes/respects Adolin even when Adolin drives him absolutely insane. He does his absolute best at any job he is given no matter how hard it makes his life or how many toes he steps on.

And he cannot hide his skills to save his life. So far, about half way through the book he's not terrible at hiding the stormlight, except that he is and the people around him just have more to worry about (like dying) when he has to use it.

He's a very very good surgeon even though he didn't actually have the chance to formally study, and when literally anyone calls him on it, he's just like 'I learned field medicine' - sir, you think field medicine is a good excuse for knowing more about epilepsy than the light-eyed noble that HAS the epilepsy??? Really?? Like are you even trying anymore? You're using words that no one else has ever heard of and you are teaching everyone around you field medicine.

He will literally never be able to blend in ever in his life.

I love him.

He wanted his arm back. He wanted to be a spear man. He was okay with other work and always happy to help but at the end he wanted to be a soldier too. That's why his arm grew back.

Remember the moment in way of kings where he says something like. "Pretty useless as a Spearman with one arms" and kaladin gives him the duty to salvage from corpses.

And on a side note. There is not a single person in this world who is disabled and doesn't wanna change that no matter how good they are at coping and managing it.

am i allowed to say i'm upset lopen grew his arm back

Yeah, i agree. Healing works in the same way soulcasting works on objects, doesnt it? Objects can only change if you believe wholeheartedly that they're something else.

Thats why kaladin's scars didn't heal, isn't it? his subconscious views them as a innate part of him.

Lopen clearly lost his arm a while ago. Hes pretty resolute about the fact that he has no arm and seemed for the most part fine with it. He jokes about it, he's clearly learned to live a fulfilling life without it. We were given no reason to believe Lopen didn't accept that this was him.

I also just liked that there were physically disabled people being treated as a integral part of the team and was potentially going to be given a roll as a hero and saviour to others with his radiant abilities in spite of his disability, like thats cool to me, personally... but its whatever lol

I suppose rysn gets to be the singular physically disabled token character

It's the coolness factor. Stories should be realistic but they also have to be cool. Also mind get used to it once it realizes that it can just heal.

i'm so mad at the way physical traumas are treated in stormlight. Like yes even when you get heal by stormlight being hacked at the spine to the point of paralysis over and over again or having an arrow impaled through your face would absolutely be a traumatic experience, but this got treated like it's just a cool fighting sequence and our heroes are just that badass. Like??? Why is neither the characters nor the narrative talk or even mention it??? The books want to realistically portray mental illness and then completely failed to also realize that being radiant also means you're experiencing even more traumas?? A lot of this just feels like mindless action scene and glorification of violence tbh

More scenes for stormlight archives future books.

A mysterious cloaked figure is walking through the tower.

A war meeting is going on. Wit is his usual asshole self. He then suddenly perks up and starts to pour two drinks.

Pattern starts to buzz nervously.

Everyone pauses as the shadow of the figure stretches into the room.

Everyone is quiet. Dalinar stretches to his full height as the stormfather rumbles ominously.

The figure speaks. "We need to talk bondsmith. Things have changed"

"Who are you?" Dalinar asks. "Thadikar. Leader of the ghostbloods"

Immediately shallan and jasnah become alert. Summoning their shardplate and attacks but thadakar either dodges or simply can't be hurt.

He calls for his subjects and suddenly one soldier comes forward and its mariaze. Then hoid gives thadakar the drink and takes a sip of his.

Kelsier tells them that they must work together and everyone is doubtful.

Explains his deal with gavilar and tells them what a monster he was.

Until he pulls out devices that has the conversations of that night recorded.

They are about to listen to one when Navani stops them and tells them that maybe they should just hear him out.

Top corner: Kaldin × Adolin

Right corner: Kaladin x Shallan

Left corner: Kaladin x Moash

Shipping isn't trying to explain why a relationship is actually canon. It's not even trying to explain why it should or could be canon. Shipping is saying "wouldn't it be funny if these two fucked" and everyone needs to remember that.

He enjoys using the power. His story is about the struggle between who he is and who he wants to be and who he is taught to be. In regards to his powers he's more like adolin.

He enjoys being powerful then hates himself for that enjoyment.

He has opinions and rage but he tries to be passionless cause he thinks it's the right way.

He's just a small wet meow meow.

szeth is all like "I hate killing people. I hate myself for killing people. Why must I kill people all the time" and then every time he fights it's the most elaborate fight scene ever. There is ONE GUARD and he lashes him upwards, binds him to the ceiling, puts his own spear under him, and then waits for the lashing to run out so the guard falls down and is impaled. and every fight scene is like that. if you think murder is morally wrong why did you do that to him

Hoid is more of a basted. We just don't know it yet. Kelsier is an asshole but everything he does is for the ultimate good of his world. Hoid helps people but ultimately serves himself only.

Another scene that should be in the next stormlight archive book:

There is a big meeting about what to do. Shallan finally muster up courage to ask Jasnah for help.

Then everyone quiets down when a hooded figure walks in.

Dalinar asks who it is.

He says that he's Thaidakar, Leader of the ghostbloods. Jasnah and Shallan immediately suit up. Attacks him but thaidakar overpowers them. Hoid pours tea. Insults Thaidakar.

Thaidakar reveals that things have changed. Orders Mraize to work with Jasnah to find a way out their new problem. Mraize grudgingly agrees.

Rest of their chapters involves Mraize and Jasnah fighting over shallan's custody, trying to one up each other.

In the next stormlight archive book I want scenes of kaladin with his grandparents. His grandfather hating larin and being fully supportive of kaladin as a soldier and giving dalinar a much needed reality check. Pulling everyone down from his high towers. Just causing unhinged chaos throughout and syl just vibing.

Now the poll is over so let's take a look at each angsty ship.

Murther:

Now, everything i know about Murther is from memes and texts posts and headcannons. So I might not know much about the show but I have pretty good idea about the ship.

The angst come from the secrets and the entanglement due to destiny. Being two half of the same coin that never really got to be one

And obviously the ending. Aurther died soon after finding out the truth i think. So we also never got them to be together being truthful. Essentially, it ended right when it was gonna get good. They were good for each other. They loved each other with such softness and inevitability.

But now one of them is dead. Leaving  the other to live on alone which is one the worst outcomes out there. It's angsty but not toxic. They should have been together but alas.

Johnlock:

My idea of ship comes from BBC Sherlock. Like Murther, Sherlock and John are actually good for each other. AND they get a happy ending. As angsty as it gets. There is a positive ending. They got together. They healed each other. They were what each of them wanted.

The angst comes from sacrifice (Sherlock) and denial (John) They are the most important people in each other's life.

Their ship can be summarized in this phrase.

"I will go to hell for you, I will come with you."

However, their angst also comes from codependency. They are good for each other but they also fall apart without each other. They need each other. Their presence don't just make them better, their absence also destroy each other. It's the need! The amount of need is proportional to the amount of angst you get.

Destiel: speaking of need. This ship is defined by need. They are the best version of each other when they are together and worst version of each other when they are apart. They hate their own self but find salvation in loving each other and caring for people.

They understand each other. Dean would fight anything and everything to protect Cas but Cas won't let him and will stay in purgatory away from dean to keep Dean safe.

They are each other's strengths. They are also each other's weakness and those around them know it.

Cas will defy his purpose, his existence, his faith in God, already has, for Dean. And Dean, becomes a monster when you take Cas out of the equation. But he'd still pray, he'd still beg, he'd fight through everything to get his angel back and they even has 'i need you' stand it for I love you and I just jejdmsjnsndbbsbbebsh

Hannigram:

now we are leaving the angsty romance waters and entering the self destructive toxic love waters.

This ship is blatant. They know there is love under that obsession and vulnerability. But they are just too fucked up. Their I love you Is 'I see you'

Hannibal and Will. They both go through life feeling alone. Singular creatures. Then they come across each other and they are no longer alone. They clash they destroy each other in their love and obsession for each other. And at the end. Will brings out the selflessness out of Hannibal and Hannibal brings out the animal in Will.

Their whole story is poetic and they aren't letting each other go. Hannibal is so fucking scared of vulnerability that comes with love. He tests Will. Hoping that will won't see him. That Will will only see what he projects, like everyone else. But damn he is bared. And Will tries to deny himself over and over again but he is hopeless. Hannibal tries to eat him and Will tries to get him killed. It's their stuff and at the end. Will accepts the monster inside and kills them. And finally Hannibal gets honest and let's Will destroy him.

Finally we have Kalmoash:

Their story hasn't come to an end. AND I am not sure how Moash's arc will end. But the obsessive destruction is there. They are too, two sides of the same coin. Kaladin took a path that Moash could not.

Kaladin had people he could rely upon. Moash was encouraged into destruction. Now the choice was his but that doesn't negate that at their breaking point Kaladin had friends and people who cared in the past that gave him the strength and positive outlook to make the right choice while Mosh lost the only family he had and his whole life, lived with distain. Then at his weakest moment had odium.

And Moash loves Kaladin while kaladin is our local Aro Ace fly Boi. And he calls moash his closest. (Used to.) And as angry as Moash was, He still says to kaladin that if you say no I will stop. Its the  momentum and series of wrong choices that separates them.

And even after giving everything up. Moash still has one thread that ties him to his humanity. (I know how that feels and maybe that's why Moash is the only character that I feel any kinship to.)

Their conflict comes from the fact that they are bound by their own thinking.

Moash in his skewed way, helping the man he loves. Odium wants Kaladin. Moash knows that. He also knows that Kaladin would rather be dead. The servitude of odium is no life so he wants to kill kaladin to save him a worse fate. But he also knows that no one can kill kaladin. So he baits Kaladin to kill himself. (Peak toxicity).

In his mind he is saving Kaladin and Kaladin i thinks hate only cause he can't accept the other things that he feels.

Now so far Kaladin hasn't tried to save Moash. But now maybe he will try and reach out. I doubt it but damn I want moash to get better. Become a radiant or even a bondsmith. Better yet.A SKYBREAKER.

Their relationship is essentially. "You betrayed me I have to hate you or I will love you" "I hate you I will save you by killing you." They have such strong passion for each other and it will destroy them.

But I am hopeful that sunshine Boi Renarin can save them.

Let the war begin

Kalmoah is at the bottom. And loosing. The funny thing is. It's the most toxic relationship in fiction. Hannigram and destiel got nothing on kalmoash in terms of toxicity. Maybe it will Win a toxicity poll. This goes to show how few people know about it. Will explore it in the next post.

Let the war begin

Moash should be a shybreaker. (And not cause of justice is blind thing. His blindness should just be blindness. An injury not a punishment)

Teft was although a friend. Was an enemy combatant.

Yes he is vindictive. His greatest flaw is that he is gullible. He is loyal until he isn't.

And he seems to get betrayed by every ideal he swear.

But in the end. He didn't, as much got betrayed by people, as much as he got betrayed by the institution.

There was simply nothing he could do once the law was thrown out the window. And vengeance is just another face of justice.

So having him as a skybreaker who is devoted to an ideal and at the end becoming law itself seems a better arc. And having been on side of the vengeance he can judge better. And unlike nale, Moah isn't a machine. He wants to be but he isn't. He understands compassion and forgiveness.

He is one of my favorite characters. It would be interesting to see whom he chooses as his third ideal.

Alternatively.

He can be an awakened radiant (corrupted) As he is shunned by both human and singer. Seems like he would fit within the awakened truthwatchers. And purely cause it be funny. He hated renarin. Or hated the idea of him.

But renarin is such a sunshine boy if anyone can make moash see past his hateded its renarin.

He should not be dead. He should live and learn and grow and grow old.

Not as a cautionary tale but as a reminder that we can make better choices.

Two hours—and about twenty sketches—later, Shallan felt far more relaxed.

Shallan continues to be the most relatable character in the cosmere.

Gaviler is now more hated than Moash. Tho I wonder if jasnah will have to work alongside the ghostbloods. It'll be fun to watch Jasnah and Mraize passive aggressively fight for shallan's custody.

If radiants are mentally ill glow in the dark people (not my term).

Their mental illness should have some impact on their power.

Someone with anxiety will always have their blade at the ready. I can just imagine shardbearers drunk on mix of coffee and Redbull.

Or a person recieve a romantic confession and boom! Sword out. Especially if someone is trained to summon on reflex.

Would someone with high empathy have an easy time soulcasting?
