LOOK AT WHO GOT THE HTTYD BOOKS
It bugs me when people say the HTTYD movies aren't that different from the books because the shows reference the books like all the time but that's stupid because if you put movie hiccup and book hiccup in camp half-blood they'd go in different cabins
Camicazi and Stormfly, Hiccup and Toothless, and Fishlegs and Horrorcow! Finally finished tweaking the designs and made the dragons!!
Thought that was jinxs wanted poster for a second and was so confused LOL
I guess that's enough for today
@/azuriewillow005 thanks for the throne reference!!!
Is that what happened in book 10? Am i right?
Hell I just want them to actually adapt the ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ books — that biz was EPIC.
I'll say it before and I'll say it again:
You could make a beautiful HTTYD book adaptation through a one-season 2D animated TV show. The charming, childlike whimsy, the quirky dragons, the wonderfully weird world, the epic larger-than-life scenes and characters, all this screams 2D animation as the best adaptation. That would capture the tone, the heart (Cowell's illustrations!!), the imagination. Most books would be a single episode. The last few books would be two. Don't drag the story out, don't bog it down with unnecessary additions, but tell it in precisely the amount of space it needs to be told. Don't try to realism anything. Let the world be itself and let the magic shine.
That moment when they bodyswap and Bodkin has the sudden realisation that Xar is in crippling pain all the time because of his hand but still tries to joke around and make people laugh and he literally never mentions that the whole time he's in agony.
Cressida Cowell is such a writer's name, I swear. It was made to be put on a cover of a story about a little viking boy and his dragon doing stupid shit.
Something about the how to train your dragon books no one talks about is the intense desire you get to be a better person once you finish reading them
Not a question but I didn’t know the wizards of once has an actual fandom like these books were my childhood
Ikr!! The wizards of once is such an amazing book series but the fandom is practically dead on here! Like, there's gotta be atleast 3 posts every millennia about it but they're such good books
I adore the httyd books with a passion but I honestly think twoo is a tiny bit better. My opinion on this does vary but most of the time I truly think twoo had so much to offer. And that's not to say httyd doesn't have as much to offer, I just liked the aesthetic of twoo so much because of all the whimsical magic fairytale vibe. But twoo had so much to offer and no one really acknowledges it. And a lot of the time when they do acknowledg it httyd creeps it's way into the conversation. I think twoo was a beautiful book but it's so underrated it's honestly wild to me.
All I can imagine is a bunch of big square Vikings at the top of a cliff screaming
At the green death
i think they should animate a book accurate httyd show in a mix of the style of like nimona and voltron and avatar i just think any one of those would work so well
I always thought along the lines of gravity falls or adventure time or something. Or that shitty httyd recap animation. That was awesome I think that style is perfect for it

Everyone I don't like has a htyyd obsession so I ask them if they've read the books and they'll all be like "the my first library picture books that came out around the same time as DOB?" And I'll be like "LOSER! NOT A REAL FAN!" just kidding they don't know about the my first library picture books that came out around the same time as DOB because they're fake fans and posers
Some shitty httyd fanarts I did fir Hiccups birthday
ITS THE 29TH OF FEBRUARY TODAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY HICCUP!!
Someone needs to give Lil boy a mullet.
"I ship Hiccup and Camicazi!"
If you were a dragon, what kind would you be?
I feel so cringe for saying this but I related a lot to Toothless and Horrorcow but if you're talking about movies I'd like to think I'd be a nadder :')
ok ok wait have you listened to the audiobooks? cause they’re awesome. also do you have a favourite hhtyd book + why?
I absolutely adore how to speak dragonese because I love Camicazi's introduction to the story and I think the plot and dialogue was great. I also loved the audiobook for how to speak dragonese because I think Hiccup's dialogue was voiced and acted out perfectly
If I had a nickel for every time Hiccup got knocked out by something falling on his head while on a sinking boat I'd have two nickels. Which isn't much but it's weird that it happened twice, right?
There are people in the httyd community that I feel are famous to a degree and I follow them so when they like my posts about the yttyd books I get really excited and I feel like I'm getting a handshake from the prime minister
Do yall think if Hiccup from the httyd books met Atreyu from the never ending story they'd get along?
Sometimes it feels like Tuffnut is just there to keep the same ludicrous energy the books had and I absolutely love him for it
I feel kinda bad for Hiccup Horrendous Haddock II.
Imagine being a baby and having someone decide you're worthless before you can even prove to be something of importance. Being a baby on a cold mountainside just sitting in a basket in the snow with the fate of freezing to death, starving or being eaten by dragons.
And then when his dad finally does find him and take him back he's kind of outcasted from society cus he considers himself a dragon. He was raised to behave like a wild animal and speak Dragonese and then he was put in a society he'd never been apart of, a d kicked out and shamed the moment he entered it. And then not understanding what's going on or what he's meant to do because he's never been in that environment before.
And then having a brother so cruel that he tolled his father he was planning to kill him. Then his father murdered him for the sake of keeping the throne and only then did he realise he was an awful person because he killed his son even though his son was just trying to do the right thing.
I think Fishlegs parallels pretty well with Hiccup Horrendous Haddock II because Fishlegs was also kicked from his tribe and then when he finally came back he didn't understand that he wasn't welcome anymore. Not to mention he was raised by himself as an orphan, sent out to sea to drown as a literal infant, raised in an unaccepting, unbearable environment where he was mistreated so much he isolated himself in his hut for the first 10 years of his life.
Confession but I like Windwaljer better than Toothless as a companion. Like, Toothless is better in the sense that he's a lot funnier and witty but Windwalker just gives off that same loyal cozy vibe as a horse shaped dog.
One time I showed this to my friends and said "literally us" and then my friend pointed to Hiccup and said "the skinny autistic twink in the middle is me" so I punched him in the arm for stealing my identity
I FORGOT TO ADD THE FRECKLES BUT ITS CUTE STILL
Thinking about how Hiccup and Wish would get along so well if they ever met and Camicazi and Xar would go rob rich people together and Fishlegs and Bodkin can just sit and talk
