when lin manuel miranda wrote the words “oh, I’m sorry- am I talking too loud? sometimes I get overexcited, shoot off at the mouth; I’ve never had a group of friends before- BUT I PROMISE I’LL MAKE Y’ALL PROUD” and then slapped them on one of the most notoriously over-talkative and overexcited figures in american history who was almost certainly neurodivergent- he got it in one, actually. he understood the fucking assignment. he felt the ghost of alexander goddamn hamilton and every kid who’s ever felt like that whispering in his ear and he just went, yup. okay. AND THEN FUCKING WROTE IT.
for that moment alone, i will always have respect for him.
when u are a creator and you Love creating and you get the Itch To Make Stuff and you just Need to create to stay sane and feel creatively fulfilled BUT you are so burned out by other concerns/responsibilities that you don’t have the time or energy (or both) to create and you still have a million ideas but it’s hard to find the motivation to work on anything or even be excited about it bc you’re just so Tired and your brain is Dead and you feel like the creative equivalent of a shredded tire on the side of the highway
