Just to get this straight.

(Or as straight as possible)

(TW: mentioning of R*pe)

Just To Get This Straight.

Men can dress feminine, women can dress masculine: clothes don’t have to have a Gender.

It’s also ok to dress feminine and like ā€žfeminineā€œ things as a woman.

Just as men are allowed to like ā€žfeminineā€œ things, and women are allowed to like ā€žmasculineā€œ things.

Equal rights does not mean, that the ones who want equal rights will have more rights than the ones who already do. Because equal does not mean that the ones who have the right already will lose it.

Someone being offended by what you may call your ā€žDark Humorā€œ does often not mean that they are sensitive, but that what your joking about was inappropriate. And I am talking about r*pe jokes, jokes about cultural or racial prejudices, body shape, disabilities etc. If someone feels offended or hurt by something, it is not funny.

Just To Get This Straight.

Someone having a different culture, sex, religion, skin colour or over all appearance than yourself, does not make them less worthy of equality and love.

Let’s celebrate our differences and learn from each other, instead of demonising everything that’s different.

Just To Get This Straight.

Pedophiles and Zoophiles are not part of the LGBTQ+ Community

Violence is not a solution.

Someone who’s having a disability isn’t any less human because of it.

Just To Get This Straight.

Someone peacefully living and/or practicing their religion or culture is not a threat to anyone.

Hating someone because of the way they look, dress, or because of the country their from, is not ok.

Just To Get This Straight.

Having a mental illness is ok, and not a shame.

Being afraid is ok, and not a shame.

Just To Get This Straight.

Asexuals & Aromantics are a valid part of the LGBTQ+ Community.

Not to know which gender your identify with, if even, is ok.

Not knowing what your romantic or sexual attraction is, is ok.

Just To Get This Straight.

Having sex with your partner without their clear consent is in fact R*pe.

Yes, r*pe can go both ways, men can be r*ped by women just as they can be r*ped by men. And women can be r*ped other by women just as they can be r*ped by men. But the fact is, that the r*pists are male in most cases.

It’s ok to not want children.

Your body, your choice.

Just To Get This Straight.

Not liking someone is ok, attacking or threatening them and/or their families, is not.

Just To Get This Straight.

Loving yourself and your body, is ok.

Feeling beautiful, is ok.

Having a bad day is ok too.

Just To Get This Straight.

Being yourself is ok.

And no I do not mean it’s ok to harass, attack, invalidate, kill (or whatever else that you know I did not mean) people because thatā€˜s ā€žwho you areā€œ.

That’s the lamest excuse Iā€˜ve ever heard and ever will hear.

I want to give my 2 cents about the debate ā€œwould you prefer to be in the woods with a bear or a man?ā€ So I wanted to give some reasons why picking a bear is the obvious answer:

Beforehand— The point is: it’s not that I will survive against the bear, it’s that I know how the bear will kill me.

• the bear will hurt you because he thinks you’re dangerous, the man will hurt because he knows your not.

• Both won’t stop if you say no, but the bear doesn’t understand what that means and the man does.

• With a bear the only fear is death.

• A bear sees a threat, a man sees an opportunity.

•The bear smelt fear, the man saw fear.

• A bear is violent by nature, a man is violent by choice.

• We can trust a bear to be a bear but can’t trust a human man to be humane.

• The worse thing a bear can do is kill you.

• The bear is doing it for survival, not fun.

• A bear will not seek my suffering.

• A bear can be reasoned with.

• The bear only has two thoughts: prey or escape.

• If I told someone a bear attacked me, they would believe me.

• They would find my body.

• Bears are more predictable.

• Bears is more likely to leave me alone.

• Bears only attack if that are hungry or scared.

• Bears will not act differently when it finds out you’re alone.

Bears attacking humans are 1 in 2.1 million.

Men attacking humans (women) are 1 in 4.

Very weird dream I had.

Very Weird Dream I Had.

Dreamt of being a doctor studying parasites that snuck into the uterus of sleeping women and did no harm unless the woman was very stressed, drugged or unconscious, which was when they would grow sharp teeth on the side that wasn't touching the woman and bite anything that came near them.

So, basically, anti-rape monsters.

This is a rather personal issue to me. Doctors suggested I had a rare form of brain damage because they couldn't believe a girl could be autistic. It wasn't until multiple MRIS and other scans came back proving it wasn't the case and some other tests that proved that I am in fact autistic.

Expert says many more girls have autism than was thought, and failure to diagnose them can lead to misery

So, basically, what this article is saying is they discovered the way that boys present with autism, went ā€œwell that covers 100% of the population surely!ā€ and then didn’t botherĀ figuring out how autism presents in girls.

Girls slip through the diagnostic net, said Attwood, because they are so good at camouflaging or masking their symptoms. ā€œBoys tend to externalise their problems, while girls learn that, if they’re good, their differences will not be noticed,ā€ he said. ā€œBoys go into attack mode when frustrated, while girls suffer in silence and become passive-aggressive. Girls learn to appease and apologise. They learn to observe people from a distance and imitate them. It is only if you look closely and ask the right questions, you see the terror in their eyes and see that their reactions are a learnt script.ā€

WOW.Ā

Tony Attwood, founder of the first diagnostic and treatment clinic for children and adults with Asperger’s, and author of The Complete Guide to Asperger’s Syndrome, agreed with Gould’s estimation of a 2.5:1 ratio of boys to girls. ā€œThe bottom line is that we understand far too little about girls with ASDs because we diagnose autism based on a male conceptualisation of the condition. We need a complete paradigm shift,ā€ he said.

WE FIGURED OUT HOW TO DIAGNOSE BOYS AND BECAUSE WE FIGURED THAT WOULD WORK FOR EVERYONE BECAUSE BOYS AND GIRLS ARE SO EXACTLY THE SAME (child psychology would DISAGREE WITH YOU IDIOTS) NOW WE’RE REAL SURPRISED THAT WE FUCKED UP.

This. ThisĀ is a feminist issue. This is an issue like holy shit there are doctors out there who will deny a female patientĀ who is referred to them because ā€˜lul girls don’t get austism’. They didn’t thinkĀ to do any more research because, whatever right? We figured out how to solve the male side of the problem.

This is so wrongĀ on so many levels.

ā€œit’s another culture, be respectfulā€ idgaf šŸ’€ if it’s oppressive to women, it’s a problem, i don’t care if it’s ur customs. girls having to cover themselves, not being allowed to go to school, being violated, not being allowed to be heard, literally being all around disrespected but you expect me to just be cool about it because ā€œit’s cultureā€.

women do not deserve to be treated as lesser than in the name of anything. idc if it’s your religion, i don’t care if it’s tradition, it’s a bunch of bullshit.

edit: if ur only contribution is reblogging this post to tell ppl i’m a radfem, don’t bother. this is a post about women being abused. if your main takeaway is that the person ur reblogging from might have different views than you, you have some serious growing the fuck up to do.

I hate the lack of portrayal of female body hair in art, especially in public region. If it's there it's usually trimmed and/or doesn't extend past the "aesthetic" socially acceptable zone... I know I can 'be the change you want to see' and all that but it's lonely out there :(

Stuff like this needs to be talked about more

Freindly reminder that you can't hate men without being queerphobic. You can't think men are inherently more dangerous, violent or sexual, or any of the other things people say about men without being inherently queerphobic.

You can't think these things about men without branding mlm as outsiders who will always be unwholesome and dangerous without women to "civilize" them.

You can't think these things about men without thinking of wlw who are more masculine as being inherently lesser for being like men.

You can't think these things about men without making most transfems seem suspect for having masculine traits, or forcing trans women to prove themselves female enough to be valid.

You can't think these things about men without telling transmascs that they are inherently degrading themselves by transitioning, or forcing them to deny their transition to be supported.

You can't think these things about men without basically calling all enbies female, and then calling all masc enbies dangerous.

You can't think these things about men without easing aspec men and/or calling their identities into question.

You can't think these things about men without basically telling intersex people they don't exist, and making intersex women feel lesser for having male traits.

If you hate men you will hate every letter in the LGBTQIA for having traits in common with men. Feminism that views men as the enemy will inevitably be Feminism only for cishet women.

"all men are evil" is radfem/terf rhetoric, but clarifying "all cis men" because you want to signal that you're not transphobic doesn't work because it's still deeply rooted in radfem beliefs. It's saying you believe there's something inherently evil in being born/assigned "male", and you carry it over in how you treat ppl who transition in or out of that gender. "All cis men are evil", is gender essentialist and you can't get around that.

Fucking tired of ppl who think their terf soundbites with a fresh coat of paint are sooo progressive

I do think there is a difference between how men and women are socialized to express emotions but I cannot STAND when men twist that to imply that little girls are never told to ā€œstop cryingā€ or women just have a peachy easy time expressing emotion while men are forced to suffer in silence. Like literally women and girls are CONstantly told that we’re hysterical and overdramatic and irrational for expressing emotion and we explicitly get taken less seriously than men do when we express emotion. Be for real.

Do you guys remember how kidnap fantasies were popular on wattpad because young girls and queer teens were both made to feel shame at the thought of their own sexualities, so the fantasy of being kidnapped totally against their will was a way for them to engage with a romantic or sexual fantasy without feeling morally in the wrong for doing so? Added bonus that the fantasy involved being whisked away from repressive environments like home or school, right?

Finding out that Bram Stoker was in a sexless marriage and that scholars believe that he very likely was closeted gay puts the entire book into perspective as to WHY it reads EXACTLY like a self insert wattpad Dracula kidnap fic:

ā€œI TOTALLY love my wife and would never do anything that an upstanding Good Straight Working Man wouldn’t do but oh nooo, big strong man with broad back and strong enough arms to carry me back to bed like a princess trapped me and claimed me as his, completely against my will šŸ‘‰šŸ‘ˆ But he protects me against the bad evil sexual women (who I assure you, I am TOTALLY sexually attracted to, as any straight man with a choice would be) but trust me, I do NOT want ANY of this. What’s that? The Count is not capable of feeling love? Would be a shame if I had the special ability to change tha-ā€

Man, remember when Free The Nipple was a thing and there was an actual substantial amount of feminists who believed even public nudity wasn't inherently sexual and now if you date a short person hundreds of anonymous idiots online will call you a pedophile.

something I find kinda interesting about radfems is that because they believe that womanhood is characterized by universal experiences of trauma and oppression, and because they believe that only they and people who agree with them correctly understand the nature of this oppression, they end up sounding like they believe that the only reason women would like things that they think are bad is if they're somehow being tricked into liking it

does a woman like wearing makeup or revealing clothes? patriarchal brainwashing. a cis woman who identifies as a lesbian dating a trans woman with a penis? she's doing it out of guilt or pity, or she was pressured into it. afab people coming out as non-binary or trans men? that's just internalized misogyny making them want to escape womanhood. hijabi women keeping their heads covered and dressing modestly? obviously they've been pressured into it by their oppressive islamic upbringing. women who are into kink, particularly if they're submissive? abuse victims who don't realize their male partners are taking advantage of them

women aren't allowed to like things under radical feminism. every aspect of a woman's life is either a political statement or a decision made under duress. women have free will and agency unless they disagree with me, in which case they're helpless victims who can't recognize how oppressed they truly are.

don't get me wrong, I think it's worth examining why you enjoy doing the things you're doing. the modern state of corporatized pop-feminism has found a way to frame nearly every act, regardless of how harmful to one's self or others, as feminist, and that's a trap that you certainly don't want to fall into. but the vision of womanhood that radfems paint is so bleak and joyless that it can never adequately act as an answer to that problem

Sexual Objectification of Male Characters and How it Impacts Women

Alright, this is something that has been on my mind for a while and I finally have the balls to write it down and make sure everyone can see it. This post is biased, and extremely emotional, as I am writing about my personal feelings on this subject. If there is any lack of clarification or incorrect use of a word/description, I will do my best to correct it.

Warning: Sexual abuse/assault/violence is mentioned.

So. I am a long time lurker on popular fan sites and platforms. So I have seen many of the nitty gritty, the truly toxic and beautiful, and utter sadism that people are capable of creating when it comes to characters we take a liking to. But the more recent stuff has really gotten under my skin, and I wanted to talk about it.

This has to do with two characters that have become extremely popular this year. Miguel O’Hara from Across the Spider-verse and Simon ā€œGhostā€ Riley from Call of Duty. I’ve seen depraved things happen when people like characters. I like these two for similar reasons. I find them attractive. Their stories are captivating. And the movie and game they take place in are some of my favorites. But the things I have seen being written about these two specifically make me very nauseous.

Both of these characters have become extremely popular on fan sites because of how sexually appealing they are. They are tall, muscular-built men with dark backstories and darker attitudes. And what infuriates me is the amount of sexual objectification is happening to them. Yes, they are fictional characters. Yes, they don’t exist. Therefore no harm is being done. Wrong.

I have been writing fan fiction for a long time, only a fraction of it actually posted publicly. And the thing about fan fiction that I take extreme pride in is the art of characterization. You are creating a story about a character that is not yours. They already existed, have their own lore and role within their story. So when one is writing fan fiction, I think its incredibly important to pay attention to the specific lore of the character. This helps you build on who they are and flesh them out as people. How would they react in this situation? What foods/drink do they like? What face would they make if you said this? What would they do if this specific thing happened to them? These are important questions you should know the answer to when writing your own material for any given character.

Yes, AUs exist for this reason, so that subversion of a character can take place to satisfy those that fantasize about a character that canonically would not play into their interests. That still still does not excuse some of the utter disrespect I have seen.

For the two specific characters above, I will summarize their VERY similar backstories. Both were heavily abused in their childhoods (by their fathers). Both have taken on an ā€œanti-heroā€ role with a grisly attitude to accomplish good things, aka protecting the public/people they care about. Ghost was sexually assaulted, tortured, buried alive, and witnessed a close friend/colleague try to assault someone. Miguel was used and abused by his own company, leading to his abilities and hatred of his role as Spider-Man 2099. Horrible atrocities were committed to these men. And yet, I have seen nonstop fan fictions portraying these men as violent, perverted, sex-driven monsters for the satisfaction of readers. I think this is an affront to the very idea of fan fiction and an insult to these characters.

So with that said, I think it is absolutely disgusting how people have been writing the two characters above. And that is only the start of the problem. The over sexualization of male characters in media. For a long time, its was always female characters. People have spoken about the over-sexualization of women in media for years. And now with the internet at its height, male sexualization has also become extremely prominent, and yet I don’t see people raising enough concern about. Women have tried so hard to push back on male-centered media in order to protect themselves, with advertisements, games, movies, and entertainment media with female characters. The clichĆ© roles of damsel-in-distress or female-warrior-love-interest to male main characters are still extremely prevalent.

And yet, it horrifies me that many women (and people in general) are now taking a lead in the sexualization of male characters in the near exact same way that men do. Only difference forms. Men sexualization through art: games, movies, p*rn, etc. Women do it through our own art, and especially writing. Now, I am not saying that there is anything wrong with writing smut and p*rn. The horror lies in the characters being portrayed and the acts they are committing. Between these two characters, I have seen more violent smut fan fiction than I have seen actual love for the characters themselves. I have lurked through the fandoms centered around these two characters since they first started gaining popularity, and it disgusts me how many writers portray them.

This isn’t even the main issue. The biggest issue has to be how this is still pushing toxic male fantasy. R*pe. Sexual violence. Sexual abuse. Verbal abuse. Mental and emotional abuse. Non-consensual acts. The romanticization of sexual violence and depravity. The amount of viral videos I have seen of men openly displaying their belief that women enjoy stalking, sexual harassment/assault, and sexual abuse, and all because there is media of it being portrayed that way. P*rn has portrayed women as sexual objects for men for years, giving men the idea that any and every woman in the world would enjoy being a victim of these acts. And now, writers are doing the same thing here. They are portraying women/people being abused by these characters, and enjoying every second of it. This is not healthy. It is sickening. (This also applies to everyone, not just those who do not identify as female. Anyone is capable of being a victim of abuse).

This is a horrible double standard that has been created by people: That sexual harassment is bad when committed by someone we are not attracted to, BUT okay when committed by someone we are attracted by. STOP. Right now. Sexual harassment/abuse is bad no matter who commits it. And flirting does not equal harassment. Flirting is an open, two-way communication between two consenting people. Harassment is the continuous disregard for someone’s personal space/preferences through sexual/verbal/physical actions that the victim does not reciprocate.

Let me clarify that I am not shaming anyone for their personal sexual preferences and kinks. BDSM is not abuse when it is between two consenting adults. Violence-play is not abuse between two consensual adults. But when the media about certain characters is specifically tailored to indicate that such acts are everyone’s fantasy, it is not okay. What pisses me off is that it is always fit to characters who would most likely never agree to such things. Continuously portraying toxic, manipulative, and abusive behaviors as romantic and normal is extremely unhealthy and can warp the way people view healthy relationships.

After researching the background of Miguel and Ghost, I am one thousand percent sure that these two characters are not/would never do what they are portrayed as in these writings. Both men experienced horrible abuse, and are shown to strive to be better than the ones who abused them. I, for one, believe they would be the exact opposite as they are portrayed sexually. They would not be violent verbally or physically. They would not be abusive in any capacity. There could/would be toxic and manipulative tendencies that come from growing up in an abusive and stressful environment. But when one goes through such things, they are the opposite of this when they acknowledge their wish to be better. Both characters would most likely fear committed relationships, out of the fear that they could turn into the people who hurt them and hurt the ones they love. The fear of losing everything they care about all over again (both lost their families in tragic ways). PTSD would shape the way they interact with people, especially significant others.

I can vouch for this characterization on a personal level. The beauty of writing characters is being able to take their lore and apply it to real human qualities and experiences. I often use my own in my writing. My personal experiences with abuse and harassment are what drive me to write this post and speak out on this surge of romanticized violence, as well as for these characters. People who have survived these experiences and who strive to better themselves often acknowledge that it was not these experiences that define them. It is who we choose to become afterwards, and how much we allow it to affect us. While Miguel and Ghost are people who will continue to be haunted by their pasts, they strive to be better in their own ways, even if not everyone agrees. And the over-sexualization and violent portrayal of their characters in many fictions completely contradicts their canonical characters.

I am not putting creators who have done this on blast. I just urge many of you writers/artists to think about what it is you are creating and who you are portraying. Is your content curated by your audience? Is it curated specifically for you? Or is it for the character you are writing about? Maybe its everything and more. I just want you to be aware of what you are writing and how it may affect others as well as the characterization of said character.

I feel as if I’ve only scratched the surface with vague explanations. So if anyone who sees this feels the same, and wants to add or feels like I missed something, please do. This needs to be talked about more.

Am I the only one who on the other hand just gets exhausted from school and absolutely hates it, but on the other hand I can't stop thinking about other girls and women who can't go to school because they're not allowed to.

It always makes me realize how lucky I am that I was born in a Western country and not in countries where women have (almost) no rights, but it is still so unfair why this even exists in 2025 (!). That there are still not equal rights for everyone everywhere in the world. Even the 'richer' countries know what is going on, but are doing absolutely nothing to stop it.

Let's make one thing clear: TERFs at large do not care about women's rights.

That is why they will complain about trans women in sport, but not about how underfunded women's sports are, how women at times are forced to play in revealing outfits for the benefit of investors, or on fake grass, making injuries more likely. It is why they complain about trans women in sport, but not cis male and at times cis female trainers accussed or even charged with sexual assault trainging female teams.

They do not care about women's rights. That is why they explicitly ask cis men who want to commit violence against women in women's brathrooms - to scare off trans women, who never really assaulted anyone. It is, why they will support rapist and domestic abusers, bullying their victims of social media, while also complaining about the supposed inherent danger of trans women.

They do not care about women's rights. That is why they stay silent on fascist regimes trying to persecute women who abort or loose pregnancies, or even on those regimes trying to just receive safe healthcare.

They do not care about women's rights. That is why they do not push for better diagnostic criteria and medication for women - specifically also neurodivergent women, while they fearmonger about what they suppose are "girls forced to be boys".

TERFs do not care about the rights or safety of women. That is why they would rather hunt down a minority, who is far more likely to be victim of all forms of violence rather than the perpetrator, than stand up to those cis men who have assaulted, violated, and at times killed many, many women, and try to make this violence against women legal.

There is a reason why TERFs cheer for men like Trump, and Musk, and those like them. And that is, that they never cared about women's rights to begin with.

Literally all of this things, sometimes combined into one insult/complaint, at one point or another have been said to me. Growing up in a predominantly female home, I can assure you that these are things said to women frequently and sometimes even by other women. :/

Please reblog if you are a girl and have ever been made to feel ashamed of one or more of these things (wanting to prove a point to some asshole):

-your weight

-your clothing choice

-your amount of make up

-having sex

-not having sex

-breast size

-having your period

-saying no

-not appreciating catcallsĀ

-masturbating

-body hair
