Compiled some basic information I know about drawing fat characters for beginners since I've been seeing more talk about absence of really basic traits in a lot of art lately.

Shout out to my friend @theinternationalacestation for giving me the topic and helping me put this list together. She’s the best, and you can read her fic under the name yellow_caballero on AO3.
Of the above, the flash fiction, short stories, and one of the novellas are all available free and legally online. And they’re just the tip of the iceberg! There’s so much great short science fiction and fantasy short fiction out there. If you enjoy these stories and want to read more, take a look at some of the magazines’ other stories. Special shout out to Uncanny Magazine’s recent Disabled People Destroy Fantasy issue. Also, RIP to Apex Magazine, I miss you a ton.
Most of the short stories didn’t have illustrations, so I made do with clip art and stock photos of varying degree of relevance.
Below the cut, I’m linking to the short stories in question. For the books, I’m linking to the Goodreads pages. I hope you guys find some stories you love!

do you have a tutorial for the crowns with the following eyes? They look awesome! :D
It's pretty easy to make if you have the materials tbh! :D
Here's what the inside of the crown looks like for better understanding:
Materials used:
• 4mm thick EVA foam for the crown base
• 4mm LED foam, this is the white foam that lets light pass through! It's glued into the base crown to make an arch over the eye socket!
• Magnets - this makes the iris exchangable, just glued on the iris and put the other magnet on the other side of the foam, it holds by itsself
• LED lights that work with battery and are controlled by remote, they're from Amazon and just glued into the back.
That's basically it! :D
you are my favorite artist!! i really admire your coloring style, and how soft the lighting makes it feel despite being on-model. you have any tips? on the topic of lighting, i also ADORE your shading!! :3
You have no idea how happy this made me (ノω・、)
I tried my best explaining and understanding the question!

It’s actually just 2 easy steps, for me atleast
I’d say my shading&lighting is kinda lazy..
I used blue and yellow as an example to show what it looks like with warm and cool colors :p
You can see how it changes when you add shading and lighting (tho you cant see the light that much…)
For blue i gave him for shading analogues colors that means the colors are neighbors on the color wheel, the same with yellow.
Its good to have a real reference to help you
You can see how it can changes green depending where the light source is coming from, it can change a mood.
