I swear this was really funny in my head
Og:
If you asked me about The Great Gatsby I would say Nick had a big fat homosexual crush on Gatsby. If you really asked me I would say
“it’s clear in the text that Nick is obsessed with Daisy in such a way that he leeches onto her. This could also be said of how he views Gatsby. One could say that Nick is just jealous of Gatsby but his inner monologue doesn’t reflect this sentiment. Just as Nick does Daisy he latches onto Gatsby’s social circle and life, attending his parties, following him to other sorts of activities and gatherings and some such things like that. Given all my conclusive evidence I think that Nick was just as infatuated (more so in a romantical/the way he romanticized jays life)with Gatsby as he was Daisy”
Which is basically the same thing but like with more yap. Anyway sorry if that was too much yap.
Alright editors. I have a vision I need someone with the skills to create it to take my vision.
Mel Menards edit to “beautiful little fool” from The Great Gatsby musical.
Does someone see it. Do you see the vision.
More classic literature YouTubers because it's so funny to me

People who write novellas must be absolutely going though it bc I've never read a novella that wasnt utterly devastating. These people really have Things to Say and whats more they do it in under 200 pages.
So, I guess that I, too, will partake in this great tradition called "Doing a presentation for class about how Nick Carraway was gay for Jay Gatsby".
White people are always selfish. Some racist prick talked some stupid analogy about how white americans used to team up together when indians came for their women. We humans are supposed to feel empathy. We’re supposed to understand pain of everyone involved, of another even if foreigner or a stranger. That’s not a trait white people have, indeed, only when their posessions are in danger they will be quickly to team up to protect them, - with no preparation of any kind. Therefore, anyone who has done preparation with teamwork before white men will always gain advantage. Migrations are “nuisance” yes they are “nuiscance”, you will have selfish view of the world.
perpetually torn between:
taking classic literature seriously and over analysing every detail so that I can deeply understand themes, motifs and references and absorb every poetic quote into my being OR treating classics as if they were just silly little stories about silly little gay people doing the most weird, unhinged and out of context shit ever (which they are)
No because I for real cried when I read this.
Daisy Buchanan, I love you and I appreciate your intelligence and I wish the men around you did too.
“i hope she'll be a fool—that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.” - daisy buchanan
I started reading The Great Gatsby recently and OMG?! This is literally the fruitiest book I’ve ever read.
Like?? Every (and when I say every, I mean EVERY) character is just. So queercoded. They’re literally all living in glass closets like I for real won’t even be surprised if the end of this book is just everyone having gay sex.
No but for real, this feels like some sort of weird gay fever dream. Living for it though.
Anyways maybe I will do a further analysis on why I perceive each character as queer later on. Just needed to get this out of my system.
What kills me is that Love Never Dies, The Great Gatsby, and Chicago all take place at roughly the same time in two of the biggest cities in America like just to be a guy in the universe would be WILD.
Gives this to you and runs

Bro talking to my mom about the great gatsby is so funny because she’ll be like
“Why is it so gay? Is it because of Nick and Jay?”
“YES!”
And we are half way there. Our main dancer serving us looks and moves. So for his moodboard mu brain went make it silver and expensive. I have to admit he looks way too good with that face chain. Also it remind me of The Great Gatsby. I would forgot, happy late birthday to this boy.
NOBODY TALK TO ME JUNE 21ST.
oooo I love Jekyll and Hyde the musical! Right now, I've got Only Tea from the great Gatsby musical stuck in mine :)
If you see this you are OBLIGATED to reblog w/ the song currently stuck in your head :)
Is anyone in the newsies and great Gatsby fandom??? ‘Cause I’m planning on drawing something but idk how many ppl would get it
We all know David Jacobs, Nick Carraway, Remus Lupin and Edwin Payne would be besties
Quess who watched the movie and fell in love..
Jay Gatsby would've been so much happier with Nick
My favorite part of The Great Gatsby is that it's told through the perspective of this guy who just happens to be around a bunch of rich people so a lot of time it's being described so bluntly
Like it's just a *guy* trying to keep up with and understand all this rich people shit cause his like second cousin once removed or something got married to a rich guy and he moved into the cheapest place he could find which *happened* to be next to a really rich guy
The craziest plot twist ever in The Great Gatsby happened at least once every chapter
The Great Gatsby is hilarious because the general impression I get from it is "also he's gay but don't you f***** mention anything about it or else I'll break your legs"
The Gravity Falls count down/up leading to a pdf of the great gatsby:
Me: JEREMY JORDAN WHAT DO YOU KNOWWWWWW?!?!??
grabs your hip to get your attention. as men do to each other
I do! I do!
*me at the club* so does anyone wanna discuss queer undertones in classic literature?
