Eve carefully watched his movements, waiting for him to see some recognition of the object she made. She wanted to advance her powers, to help more with the team. To truly meet her potential. She's made some common objects already or modified things, but it was all simple and more for everyday things.
"I forgot to add a fan?" She groaned loudly, eying her creation and seeing exactly what he meant. She had been so busy on its external features she had not even thought too deeply of its internal mechanics.
She gave him a small smile at his comfort to her. She looked up at him briefly before returning her focus back to the object. "I guess..." She said before waving her hand, altering the object to become a simple brick. She did not want to stare at her creation any longer.
"I can't make a fucking hair dryer from memory, Rex." She stated plainly. "I have these powers and I can't make a hair dryer, what else can I not make?" She emphasized, as if making any object possible was her only job on the team. Her eyes returned to the now brick and pointed at it yet again. This time around she attempted to alter it into a radio, definitely a leap from a hair dryer. "God fucking damnit..." She muttered, the object she made instead was essentially just a speaker with no controls.

he looked at the object in question, there was a slight tilt of his head then it tilted the other way in order to get a better glance at the thing. when it came to eve's powers, rex knew that she was amazing when it came to the fighting aspect, she could easily make gigantic hammers out of thin air to smash into villains, but seeing the supposed hair dryer--he had to think it left much to be desired.
"i'm not going to say that it DOESN'T look like a hair dryer now that i know what it's suppose to be, but uh..." he then went up to lightly poke the object in question. "i can't help but notice that it doesn't have that fan mechanism that they all do..i don't think it's going to be much use without one."
he then turned back to her, hearing her concern about her powers and he placed a hand on her shoulder to comfort her as best he could.
"it doesn't look bad, don't get me wrong, maybe you should just go online and look up how they function, it might help." he knew that in the line of battle there wouldn't be time to actually do this, but if she was determined to make things and have them work the way their intended to, there had to be research.
“what on earth is that thing?”
PROMPTS FOR THE ONE WHO QUESTIONS EVERYTHING
"It's not obvious...?" Eve hesitantly asked. If she needed a blunt opinion, Rex was the one to go to. Currently she was trying to push her powers further, make more complex objects from simple things. Things that could function was the goal, but so far it was a rough time.
"I was trying to make a hair dryer." Instead it looked like some sci-fi gun mixed with a landline telephone. In her eyes, she could clearly see what parts of it looked like a hair dryer, but now the longer she looked at it after Rex's comment, she could see it definitely did not look like that.
She let out a groan then, her head meeting her hands. "How can I have these powers but not visualize what a hair dryer looks like?" Not that she ever planned on using one in a fight, but it was the thought that counted. What if she had to make something complex on short notice? What then if she can't make every day items to begin with?
There definitely were strings attached to this; Eve was confident in that. Chocolates... out of nowhere? It was not a holiday, birthday, or anniversary. Her eyes surveyed the bag; it was both the brand and flavor she loved. This definitely was not something he offhandedly found somewhere for a discount; there was thought behind this. That concerned her.
Before she could throw out any theories, he was already beginning to threaten to retract the offer. "No, I'll have them!" She said impulsively because god dammit that was her favorite kind of chocolates. "But I need to know I'm not suddenly an alibi for something or you need me to fix public property." There were a dozen other possibilities of what could be attached to this sudden nice gesture, but those two were the biggest headaches she could think og.
@atomevc asked from x meme! "Why are you being nice?
"that offends me, y'know? like i can't buy you some chocolates that i know you like without coming off as suspicious. buuuut, if you're really not wanting these delicious treats, i guess i'll eat them all by myself," rex was already starting to take one out of the bag once he ripped into it, unwrapping it just to see what she would do.
