Osomatsu kun 1988, episode 19 'Switched Psyches!'

This episode is great, especially for the boatload of Iyamatsuyozo (Iyami x Matsuyo x Matsuzo) content, the queer, gender nonconforming polygamous vibes and Dekapan being a lunatic pseudo scientist.

(The whole reason this whole mind swap premiss happens is cuz dekapan spent 3 years and 11 months working, without bathing, changing his underwear, eating or brushing his teeth (<-what he said) just to be able to make a potion that swaps people's mind/personalities after they drink it and knock their heads together. He then fuckin goes on to give everyone in town this potion without telling them what it does, and set of fire crackers by their feet so they all knock their heads together.)

..what even was the point of any of that?? why did he do that?? he's a fuckin wizard and a lunatic.

the more i watch Osomatsu kun 1988 the more i realise i identify with chibita on a spiritual level.. a chibita kinnie if you will.

I love this screaming cat in osomatsu kun 1988. Such a good character trope, to have just a freak of a little creature show up unexpectedly and scream at you the current time and location of a new scene. I'd call it iconic even.

I think it's the fact that a lot of fans get into osomatsu san first, a show primarily focused on the sextuplets with little focus on /lack of interesting concepts explored through the side characters, and see no point/need in delving into the side characters. I feel like if more fans watched and had access to osomatsu kun they'd most likely feel a lot more endeared to the characters (although the difference in comedy, style and presentation in osokun may throw some people off).

it kinda makes me sad that even as the fandom is growing quieter here people still dont seem to like characters like dekapan or hatabo or even matsuzo. like ive seen people say "why watch the old stuff lol it isnt even about the sextuplets" and like... thats kinda the point. the point is you get to know eeeeveryone else bc the sextuplets are just the same kid times six. its just... sad to me. i really only see chibita drawn when its karabita, and forget ever seeing people draw dayon, dekapan, or hatabo. iyamis really the only character thats okay in terms of appreciation but... bleh idk i wish these other characters werent so horribly slept-on, both in the fandom AND the show (cuz lets face it they got ignored quite a bit even in the show/movies)

I'm (slowly) watching through Osomatsu kun 1988 rn and christ lads the matsuno bros were just as evil when they were kids (⁠•⁠ ⁠▽⁠ ⁠•⁠;⁠)
