He didn't even register this fist slamming into Starscream's face until he hear the jet's back slam into the wall behind him. As the sound reverberated in Megatron's audials, he could only stare in horror as he watched Starscream pick himself back up and bring a hand to his face, energon coating his digits. Megatron took a step forward, his anger quickly fading away into horror as he realized what he'd just done. He reached out, an apology on his lips. "Starscream, I.." Starscream only turned away, his expression was morphed into one that the ex-warlord had been unable to properly decipher in the moment. Starscream just let out a heavy vent and returned to laying on the berth in the brig, quietly speaking one last time. "It's just as I thought... you'll never change... just leave me alone. Let me rust away in peace." Megatron felt himself at a loss for words, all he could bring himself to do was comply with Starscream's demands and leave him in the brig. The words uttered by his former second in command, digging their way into his spark. As Megatron left the brig and made his way to the main deck of the ship, he was left coming to terms with all the events that had just transpired. His gaze rested upon his fist, his tanks churning when he saw the faint traces of Starscream's energon on his knuckles. One thing that didn't add up to Megatron had been Starscream's expression. The jet's expression was not one of smug pride that he got under Megatron's plating again, it wasn't one that was happy to be right about his former leader's attempts to atone... no. Starscream's expression had been one of disappointment and slight bitterness. Megatron continued to walk, thinking about the entire interaction that would have brought reason for Starscream making such an expression. He stopped in his tracks when he finally realized it. 'Bots like us don't change... anyone that says so is fooling themself.' Starscream wanted to be wrong, wanted what he said to not be true. He wanted Megatron to be a changed bot, because if he was then it meant Starscream's belief in being unable to change was false. If Megatron was capable of changing, capable of not lashing out at Starscream's responses, then he would have proven Starscream wrong... and that in turn would have led Starscream to believe there was hope for him to be capable of changing too. To be more than Starscream the duplicitous backstabber. But Megatron reacted with violence towards Starscream again, and to Starscream that was enough to believe that there was no hope for either of them. Megatron never felt more defeated.
[Click here to read the first part to this idea]
When Megatron enters Starscream's cell, he only briefly gets the other's attention before a bitter laugh escapes the jet. "Well if this isn't a familiar scenario..." Megatron doesn't find the humor in it. "You've holed yourself away again, Starscream." Starscream could only weakly scoff in turn, his once pristine frame creaked with rust as he moved. "And I suppose you're here to beat me within an inch of my life again... to tell me what a miserable failure I am as a leader. So cut whatever righteous speech you have planned and let's just get it over with." Megatron was taken aback, so Starscream still expected to be beaten. He didn't think the former Decepticon leader was capable of being good, of being redeemed. Something about this fact made Megatron's tanks churn as he continued to talk, his voice soft and gentle as he spoke to Starscream. "Do you really believe I am still the same person I was before?" There was just something about this scenario that made Megatron crave Starscream acknowledging his change. Megatron couldn't quite pin down why it felt so important to him that Starscream would see he was no longer the tyrant of their past. He wanted Starscream to look upon him and see that change. But Starscream never looked over at him like that, and instead he let out a mocking laugh. It didn't sound like most of Starscream's usual laughs though, this one sounded strained as he shook his head and covered his face as he finally turned to face the man behind all of his abuse and pain. His lips were twisted into a mix between a snarl and a grin, his sharp denta glinted slightly in the low-light of the brig's holding cell. "Oh save it Lord Megatron. I know that deep down, you don't believe you're worthy enough for that badge on your chest. Bots like us don't change... anyone that says so is fooling themself." A sharp digit pointing towards the red Autobot badge on Megatron's chest. He was angry to relent that Starscream was right, despite everything he'd done aboard the Lost Light, Megatron still didn't believe himself worthy of wearing the badge. He felt old rage begin to bubble back up to the surface, Starscream had that influence on people. He always seemed capable of reading a bot and being able to pick at a scab that never seemed to heal right. No matter how much time had passed, Starscream always seemed to know what ate away at Megatron's spark. He never seemed to shut up once he found it either. But he wouldn't let Starscream get under his plating, not this time. Not even when every fibre of Megatron's being wanted to punch the other in the mouth. He was better than that now, he would prove that to Starscream once and for all. And ever observant, Starscream pointed out the larger bot's tension and gestured to Megatron's entire being. "You forget, we fought together for millions of years. Even now I can tell the minute details of your body language, I can see you wish to punch me. To beat me and have me screaming for mercy, well no more. I'm tired, so either get your catharsis in, or let the rust eat away at me. I. Don't. Care." Megatron continued to tell himself, that Starscream couldn't get under his plating anymore. He wasn't the same bot that Starscream knew from before. He was better now.
"Even that lousy Bee knew I was a lost cause... not even he was as delusional." Everything seemed to stop for Megatron there, it was one thing for Starscream to badmouth him; it wasn't anything that the ex-warlord hadn't heard before. But now Starscream was mocking the memory of the kind autobot that Megatron was proud to call his friend, the bot primarily responsible for Megatron seeing the faults in his actions! That was taking it too far. [Tumblr is not happy about the size of this idea, lemme split it up again.] [Part 3]
I keep imagining what could have been if like IDW Starscream, ruler of Cybertron, lost his leadership position earlier on and his sentencing was to join Megatron on the Lost Light. The idea from the new leadership on Cybertron is that Megatron would get rid of Starscream and so they could just kill two birds with one stone. Starscream lingers mostly to the more isolated parts of the ship, barely interacting with anyone, but somehow always being dragged to the brig for something going wrong on the ship. It gets to the point where Starscream doesn't even come out of the brig holding cells when it's offered to him, he just wants them to leave him there to rust. Of course that information is quick to make it back to Rodimus, Ultra Magnus, and Megatron. They're a mix of trying to figure out what to do in this situation. Rodimus I could see him either being a-ok with Starscream staying there or he could believe they need to work at Starscream since Megatron was just as bad as Starscream and he turned out okay, Ultra Magnus is more on the 'leave him there' side given Starscream's criminal record, but Megatron is mixed about what to do. Megatron doesn't enjoy Starscream being on the ship, being in the space that he managed to make for himself and finally begin to work on himself. But he also knows that he himself wasn't good to Starscream and feels a sense of deja-vu hit him when he hears from Ravage that Starscream is self-isolating and wasting away. Similar to all those years ago when Starscream led the Decepticons for 3 years only for the crew to resort to cannibalism. It's a chance for Megatron to do the same situation, but differently. To show Starscream that the ex-warlord has changed. So Megatron goes to the brig and decides to speak with Starscream alone. [Sorry but this idea became too big for a single post, I'll link the second part which is the little snippet I wrote for this.]
[Part 2]
I made a meme...
Haha capcut can't be that hard I say with joys
I was then shot 57 times
I really should have watched a video or anything but nah I had a will and Starscream to guide me. But I'll post it for shits anyway and later lament on my humiliation of my first edit. No there is not a read more to hide my humiliation, I'm not a coward I say to myself.
I don't even know the song I just had an audio for it.
I was thinking about people and this popped in my head and I was like you know what. He would, he so would say this. Especially to Megatron
And he's so right to.
Don't know if this is already a quote but yeah đ
The starscream brain rot be hitting hard. And I have another song idea that fits him which has turned into a character analysis as well.
'The Mind Electric' with the bits that goes
"Someone help me understand what's going on inside my mind" could be the change of Starscream's mentality due to the normalisation of his abuse and how he views it as -normal-. And if it's Skybound it could be whatever the hell Megatron did to force Starscream to kill the prisoners when he first joined.
"Doctor I can't tell if I'm not me" literally the post war Starscream being paranoid he's not the same person at all as he was before like a clone maybe and the fact that he can't form connections with anyone. And again in Skybound it's the gap between Ulchtar and Starscream.
"See how I laugh at you" resembles Starscream constant undermining of others to make him feel better due to his insecurities and also the fact that his whole life he was laughed at so he does it back similar to the "abuse cycle".
"No you'll never understand" right after that bit shows how nobody has been in his situation and nobody tried to understand or reach out to help him mentally without blaming him for it or even just completely brushing it off. Also highlights how nobody believes him when he tries to talk about the abuse (Hashtag did tho even said how she believes Megatron who she looked up to a bit ig hurt him, a complete 180 of what everyone else does and the fact that she is close to Megatron but isn't brushing it off says so much -nobody has mentioned this from what I've read which is weird cause it just shows how clear Starscream's PTSD is (also fuck Hasbro for taking it away from us)). Saying how he brought it upon himself and that he kept trying to usurp Megatron meant he deserved it. And again shows how he can't grow attachments cause nobody views him as a victim only a failure who deserves his punishment so they don't find reason behind his actions. Not trying to "understand" why he hurts people or in the songs case "laugh" at them because they don't see him as a product of abuse that needs to be cared for. Only a bot who's worse than Megatron ever was.
Or this version
Washing machine heart by Mitski but it's Starscream looking at Megatron being forgiven and redeemed and treating everyone else nicely.
Whilst he's called unredeemable and will never get an apology.
Like it's all I see at the 'why not me?' bits. And at the end I see it as him being in bed(berth?) and hyperventilating in desperation but also throwing something at the walls in anger.
The different versions of starscream . Also why is tfp so hard to draw man.

Slowly your brain came back to life as you rested clutched in the servos of that creature. It said it was from the government. But that didnât make any sense either. ***you*** work for the government. Granted you work for a research branch that deals with strange anomalous geological formations, but surely you would have heard office gossip about literal sentient mechs being developed. The guys you work with couldnât keep their mouths shut once they got a few drinks in them. Lucky for them, the government kept them far away from anything sensitive. Still, this didnât add up in your head. There was no way you were going to argue with a giant robot though so you just smile weakly at him. Hoping heâll put you down soon as his grip was digging uncomfortably into your ribcage. He just looked at you with that odd expression you canât really place.
Thanking him for rescuing you? Of course you are. What else would a helpless creature like you do? He grins back at you. Baring his denta in what he hopes is a genuine looking smile. slowly lowering you back to the frozen ground where he snatched you from. Heâd let you go of course. Only because he knew no one would believe you, and killing you would be more suspicious than not. âDonât tell anyone about this or there will could be horrible repercussions.â He said, voice rumbling through you as he let you drop the last ten feet to the ground. Standing back to his full height, he lifts his wings and makes himself look bigger for emphasis.
You drop painfully to the ground. The fall knocked the wind out of you for a brief moment, making you wheeze as you try to stand. Heâs standing there now. Towering over you as you slowly back up towards your car. Making a mad dash you start the engine and nearly peel out on the ice as you throw it in drive. Down the icy dirt road and onto the pavement, you take a deep breath and try to convince yourself that what you just saw was real. You shake your head. Your brain telling you that there was no way you should have gotten out of there alive. The tremors in your hands refusing to cease as you break the speed limit by at least thirty. Giant robots? Now this was something your coworkers were going to want to hear about.
He watches you go. Tracking your vehicle as it speeds away. He had found out where you lived. Just in case he had to get rid of you. No other reason. Definitely not out of concern for your safety. He vented heavily and sat down in the clearing. Finally some alone time. What he had come for in the first place. His place to think wasnât sacred anymore but at least it was just some random organic. He couldnât stop thinking about your little face, your curiously Cybertronian expressions and how you didnât scream. Just sat there in his servo and stared. He scoffed. No sense of self preservation at all. Turning his attention to his most recent scheme to usurp Megatron, he puts you out of his mind for now. If all goes according to plan he wonât have to deal with you ever again.
***the next morning***
You hadnât slept a wink. Tired eyelids sticking together as you drag yourself into work. You wave at the few people you pass, looking rough and a bit out of it. Your mind was filled with questions as you sit at your desk across from your research partner. He peers at you from his place sitting with his feet propped up on his desk. Th pile of paperwork un-filed in front of him and slightly stained by his third cup of coffee this morning resting on top of it. âSomething happened. Spill.â You nearly startle at his voice. Your mind still racing as you plop down in your desk chair. âYou donât know if Weapons is developing anythingâŚ.ai related do you?â He pauses and looks up, seemingly wracking his brain. âYou know those guys. They donât like to talk about anything. Itâs all âclassifiedâ or something.â He rolls his eyes and scoots his chair back from his desk. Placing his face in his hands and elbows on either side of his chair, giving you his full attention. âWhy? Did you hear something?â

You stare open mouthed at the giant metal being that seemingly materialized out of thin air before you. Once a jet and nowâŚyou arenât sure what it is. With its cannons and cruel looking fists clenched at its sides. Everything inside you tells you that you arenât supposed to see this. Your heartbeat now in your throat, you begin to back away. Slowly trying to put as much distance between you and the terrifying government experiment as you can. Because surely thatâs what it is right? The government had to have made this thing as some type of war weapon or surveillance drone. Testing it in a rural area where no one was supposed to be. You were in the wrong place, at the wrong time. But who would believe you? Turning to bolt, your foot lands heavy on a particularly dry twig. The loud snap makes you wince and you freeze. Breath shuddering as you turn your head to see if that thing had heard. It had. The deep sound of metal creaking sends shivers through your body as it turns its huge head towards you and scowls. Finding you with its gaze, bright red eyes cast an eerie glow over the snow covered ground. âMove! Move!â Your internal voice is shrieking at your legs to run but you stand frozen under the gaze of that giant, gaping at it stupidly. Then it tilts its head. To your absolute horror it begins to approach, footfalls shaking the ground. Finally, whatever icy grip the fear had on your legs was broken and you tear off towards where you parked your car. Wind whipping through your hair as you try to outrun that thing. Too late as its hand comes down blocking your way. You try to skid to a halt and end up careening straight into its palm. You let out a shriek as fingers close around you. Your heart beats out of your chest as you are lifted into the air and held eye level with the giant. Its mechanical optics search your face before it opens its mouth and a deep rumbling voice speaks. âYou arenât supposed to be here.â
Itâs that same meddlesome human again. Starscream knows he should just squish it and be done with the whole ordeal. Itâs tiny fragile body all too easily crushed in his servos. He tightens his grip seemingly to test just how easy it would be. The human cries out, pitifully clawing at his digits, trying to get free. He growls, loosening his bruising grip to an uncharacteristically gentle hold. The human freezes staring up at him with wide scared eyes. Itâs little mouth open as it breathes raggedly in his servo. He feels the pounding of its little heart as he holds it there. Frozen with fear and looking up at him as if it expected to be ended at any second. It starts to speak in a stuttering little voice that is almost as pathetic as it looks. âYou arenât supposed to be here either.â It lifts its head staring defiantly back at him. âWhat are you some kind of government experiment?â Cheeky little thing. Even in the face of certain death it stutters out a reply.
Your mind is racing at a hundred miles an hour but your body is frozen stiff with fear. Out of fight, flight, and freeze youâve always thought youâd be a fighter. This scenario is so absurd that your brain canât keep up. You glare up at it trying to appear bigger than you are. That thing doesnât reply, leaning in closer to examine you. Looking much too closely for your liking. You cringe back holding your arms in front of your face and duck your head trying to protect it. The creature gives a heavy sigh and leans back to give you space. âYou shouldnât be here. You should have learned your lesson the first time.â He growls. Itâs a he you decide. Itâs deep voice reverberating through your tiny form. You tilt your head. What does he mean by âthe first time?â Does he know something about what happened to you. âWhat do you mean by the first time?â You manage to squeak out. Your voice sounding much smaller than you had hoped.
Starscream stops, considering his next words carefully. Clearly the tiny thing canât remember what had happened to it. Honestly he didnât expect it to be so intelligent in the first place. So capable of communicating and defiant as he holds its little life in his servos. Itâs definitely the same human from before. The scar on its forehead evidence of his blunder from weeks ago. But it doesnât know, doesnât remember somehow. Perhaps heâd knocked its processor too hard and damaged its internal systems. Whatever the case. He could lie to it. Make it believe anything he wanted to. He thought for a moment before coming up with a perfect lie. âI am from your âgovernmentâ and about three weeks ago you got caught in the middle of a sort of weapons testing. We had a malfunction and you were unfortunately caught in it. If I hadnât been here when it happened youâd have perished.â He smiled wickedly, preening a bit. His wings twitched, proud of the lie he came up with. But the little human just stared up at him with its round eyes. Little heart racing and its chest rising and falling as it breathed. Finally it managed a reply. ââŚtâŚthank you. For saving my life.â

You pack a few things to take to the lake with you as you plan to be out there until nightfall. There was no one to stop you from going on this little expedition of yours. You had left all of your friends behind when you and your ex had broken up. A new start in a new state. Of course your motherâs death had come around the same time you were looking for somewhere to go. The stars aligned and you ended up in nowhere Appalachia. You had tried to make friends here and get along with your new coworkers. Unfortunately, that had proven more difficult than you had expected. Making and keeping friends as an adult in an established area is hard. After you had piled all the necessities into your car, you gave one last look in the mirror. The unsightly scar on your forehead a glaring reminder that something awful had happened. You sigh as a heavy feeling weighs your shoulders down. It was time to find out exactly what.
âThose idiots! I told them to be careful around the falling ice! Those caves arenât stable enough anymore!â Starscream slams a data pad against the wall next to Skywarpâs head. The other mech doesnât flinch as if used to his brotherâs outburst, shrugging and putting his hands up in surrender. âListen I told em but they wouldnât hear it and now one of us is going to have to report our losses to Megatron. Since you were in charge of this whole thing like you insistedâŚâ Starscream didnât let him finish. Shouldering past the purple mech to go accept the consequences of his most recent blunder.
The drive to the lake is uneventful and filled with dread. Turning onto that all too familiar dirt track, you notice that the snow was beginning to melt. Though winter was far from over, it was going to be hard to find any useful clues in the slush. You park and don your backpack and snow spikes. Slippery was an understatement. All you needed was to end up in the middle of that lake again. You shudder at the thought. Making your way around the lake, you notice a few things out of place. Broken tree branches, large gashes made in the ground partially covered in snow, and the oddest out of the bunch was the completely shattered boulders in the clearing nearby. When you were younger, you and your sibling used to come and play on these giant boulders. Now they look like they had been bulldozed. On closer inspection, some appear to have been melted. None of this made sense. If it was some new site for construction youâd see yellow tape right? Perhaps a few orange cones? You look up at the broken branches again. Something big came through here. Something impossibly big.
Wiping the energon off of his freshly split lip, Starscream skulks back to his habisuit. His wings droop tiredly behind him. Heâs sick of this. Sick of Megatronâs temper. Sick of the incompetent fools he has to command. Sick of taking the blame. Itâs as if his leader enjoys seeing him fail. Enjoys taking out his frustrations on him. As much ambition as he has, he canât imagine a world where Megatron would willingly give up the power he has to the seeker. With a loud frustrated growl he throws the chair at his desk against the wall leaving a dent in the metal. Venting heavily he sends his fist into the wall next. Yelling his frustration to no one in particular. No one to listen because this is a brutal reminder that heâs alone. Always alone. As he leans his helm up against the wall, baring his denta in a grimace and shuttering his optics. His thoughts drift back to that little human. Reaching its tiny hand out to him. As if he were the only one that could fix them. He was the one who nearly froze them to death anyway. Of course it was his responsibility. Everything he touches ends up hurt. Pushing away from the wall he heads towards the exit. He wanted to be alone and he knew the perfect place.
It was nearly nightfall. Dusk had cast purple and pink light over the picturesque mountain lake you had been exploring all day. You sigh and put the notepad and pencil you had just been using to scribble on away. Nothing made sense and you feel like you had wasted a whole day trying to find something out. Kicking a rock as frustration pricks through you, you head back to your car defeated. Thatâs when you hear it. The distant whine of jet engines. Just as the sun dips below the horizon, plunging the lake in a deep inky blue. You turn towards the noise and reach for your flashlight. The sound wasâŚfamiliar. You could swear it sounded just like how you remembered in your semiconscious state. You decide to hide amongst the destroyed rocks to see what was making that noise. What you saw made your heart nearly burst out of your chest.

Starscream unclenches his fist where he had slammed it on the desk next to you. His optics dart to the tiny hand reaching out for him. Desperation and pain etched in your features. It was like his servos started moving on their own towards your hunched figure. He slowly, carefully wrapped his hand around behind you letting you rest against it. His optics widen in surprise as you lean your little fragile body into him. He can feel your tiny heartbeat, weak at the moment, against his palm.
Everything is just noise and color. The throbbing in your head is the only thing keeping you conscious. It was warm and dark but now it feels as if youâve been placed on a freezing cold glass surface. Reaching towards the heat once more, you try to speak but only a pained groan slips from your chest. Your head swam as you tried to sit up and look around. Clearly you werenât at a hospital yet and that alarmed you. Half broken thoughts spilled into your brain as you reached out for something. Anything to grasp to keep you in this reality. In your half conscious state you feel something warm and gentle press against your back grounding you in your panic. Leaning gratefully into it you lose consciousness once more, the color draining from your face.
Gently, Starscream lifts you to rest against his chassis alongside his canopy. After you reached for him he figured out what you were searching for was warmth. But there was still a huge problem. The human is still leaking that awful deep red liquid from the gash on its processor. Impatient, he paced the length of the room, just holding you to him as he tried to figure out what to do with you. He couldnât fix it. He knew nothing about humans and it was clear that his first interaction with one had ended as all things do with him. Whatever he touches ends up dead or suffering. He vents trying not to think about how many things heâs tried to keep and lost. Stopping to examine you leaned against his chest plate, he makes up his mind. Alarm ringing through his frame as he examines your lifeless and slowly greying form. Heâll take you to your own kind. They can fix this. He opens his canopy and places you gently inside. Once more trying his best not to jostle you as moves down the hallway for a third time that night. He transforms and takes off as fast as he can towards the town.
~3 weeks later~
Your alarm wakes you early on a Saturday morning. It had been awhile since your accident and still no one was able to tell you exactly what happened to you. Fire fighters had discovered you outside of a remote fire station at the base of the mountain. That station was located about twenty miles from the lake. The lake was the last place you remember being conscious. You became the talk of the town. People everywhere wanted to know what exactly had happened on that night. You keep hearing over and over that you are lucky to be alive at all. After a moment, you run a cautious hand over the place on your forehead where you received nine stitches, grimacing as the pain still lingered. So many unanswered questions roll through your mind as you get ready. Today was the day youâd go back to that lake. You needed answers and the only way to get them was to go yourself.
After dropping you off, Starscream hovered in the air above the station. He needed to make absolute sure the humans inside took you in. If only to keep the pathetic thing off of his conscience. He kept telling himself that he didnât really care about the pitiful little creature. But his thoughts kept straying to the way you reached out for him. That utter dependence on him and his complete lack of knowledge took him off guard. He canât help himself. Every single night since then he keeps coming back to that lake. If only to be away from it all. But a small part of him hopes heâll see you alive and well. He didnât want to admit how desperately he wanted to feel needed again.

Frag. Could this day get any worse? He canât throw it back into the lake now. Starscream just stares at the tiny frozen organic clutched in his servos. Looking around he tries to think of a way to get rid of it without having to deal with it, when it suddenly whimpers. A pitiful sound as it comes to and begins to shiver. Itâs unsettling the way it weakly tries to squirm in his grasp. He grimaces lifting it closer to his optics again. Thatâs when he noticed the gash on its forehead. Itâs leaking. Oozing dark red liquid from where he assumed was itâs processor. He could feel its weak heartbeat against his palm and he knew he had to do something fast. Or heâd have a bigger problem on his hands. Running a hand over his faceplate in exasperation, he decides the best course of action would be to get it somewhere warm first. Maybe he could figure out how to get it to stop leaking. Carefully he transformed around the little thing and took off towards the base. He knew heâd have to be careful. If the others saw his mistake, that could mean a fate far worse than freezing to death for you.
Light and sound were the only discernible sensation besides a deep, bone jarring chill. Your teeth chatter as you try to rouse yourself. âDonât fall asleep.â You think as you feel a warmth envelop you. Someone must have found you and drug you out of the lake. This was rural Appalachia. It was a miracle anyone was within fifteen miles of where you were. You reach a shaky hand to your forehead, bringing it away sticky with blood. Confused you try to get a sense of where you are. Your eyes wonât cooperate, everything is fuzzy and unfocused. The faint sound of a jet engine made you scrunch your brow. Perhaps you were being airlifted to the hospital? You reach up a hand weakly resting it on the canopy above you. Silently thanking whatever gods were watching over you this night. Your eyes grew so heavy you feared youâd slip away forever. Head throbbing and clothes still soaking wet from your fall into the lake, you shiver until exhaustion takes you.
Returning to base, Starscream lands in his alt mode carefully keeping you hidden in his canopy. He transforms, aware of your limp body resting against the inside of his frame. Shuddering at the sensation, he tries his best not to jostle you around as he strides inside. Luckily the hallways are mostly empty and he arrives at his quarters with no uncomfortable questions asked. After gently lifting you from his canopy, he places you on his desk. Kneeling so he can assess the damage. You flop alarmingly limp from his servo onto the hard surface. Your jacket, still full of water, makes an awful squishing noise. He grimaces, trying his best to figure out how to get you out of your soaked coverings. His servos much too big as he fumbles with the clasps of your jacket. After struggling for awhile he family manages to shake you free of your jacket. He jumps a bit, his wings flicking when you let out a pained groan from being handled. After gently putting you down again he begins to pace in front of the desk. What was he thinking bringing you here? He didnât know slag about humans. He let out a frustrated growl slamming his fist onto the desk next to you. This roused you enough to lift your head and stare blearily up at him. Clearly your optics werenât working correctly because you actually reach out a tiny shaking hand towards his fist. He watches intently as you mumble incoherently to him. Needing his help. Needing him. His optics widen at the realization. One thing was clear. He has to find a way to save you.

Synopsis: While on patrol, the SIC discovers a quiet place he can get away from it all. Unfortunately, so did a certain troublesome little human.
Author note: (Iâve never written fanfic before but I wanted a slow burn romance with no smut only fluff so here I am. I am not a professional writer and this is my first time posting fanfic!)
It had been one of those days you felt like running away from it all. You drove furiously down the winding road you took to work every day. Music blaring and fists clenched on the wheel. Snow had fallen the night before making the foliage glisten as your car screamed past the quiet trees. You needed more time to yourself. Just a few more hours until you had to go home. Itâs not like you wouldnât be alone anyway. You lived by yourself in the middle of nowhere, in a house given to you when your mother passed away last year. The memories in that house plagued you almost as much as your idiot coworkers. Taking a deep breath in, you turn onto the unmarked path that led to the lake. The moon was full, casting ethereal silver light over the icy water. This time of year you knew it was frozen solid. Enough for your favorite passtime, ice skating. It had been years since you had been here. Good memories began to surface as you parked the car and got out. Breathing in a lungful of painfully fridged air. A smile crawled its way across your lips. This was exactly what you needed.
Starscream stalked through the halls of the base. His wings flicking irritably. Another unfruitful scout for energon had left him with the fury of his glorious leader. He flexed his servos itching for something to take his frustration out on. He shouldered past Thundercracker, the other seeker raising a hand in greeting but stopping when he saw the look on his face. He missed the days when he and his trine had been able to spend more time together. But those feelings were currently overshadowed by the unyielding rage he felt. He tried to ignore the sting in the side of his helm where Megatron had drove his fist, making it clear once again that failure meant pain. Venting his frustration to the cold night air, he transformed wanting to be anywhere but here. Flying his usual patrol route he spotted the perfect place far enough away from those miserable humans. A lake, surrounded by mountains and covered in ice. A clearing of large rocks sat underneath a cliff nearby. Perfect to take out his grievances on. He landed skidding so a halt, nearly bowling into one of the big rocks. Instead he sent his fist through it, shattering the massive stone and yelling his frustration to what he thought was an empty night sky.
You had since donned your old skates and a heavier coat. Pulling on the leather skates felt like coming home. Something familiar and exciting. You had taken lessons in your teens and still remember it like it was yesterday. Putting on your favorite playlist, you slide gracefully onto the ice. The moon is bright enough to light the entire lake as you enjoy the solitude. Your breath billowing in eerie curls from your mouth as you remember the steps to a routine you learned. Spinning gracefully, forgetting the awful day you had at work. Peace didnât last long though as a massive boulder comes hurtling from behind you. Narrowly missing your head and plummeting straight through the thick ice. You barely have time to react before you are sent flying. A scream of fear cut short as you plunge below the ice into the inky water.
Starscream swung his helm around at the sound of your shriek. A human? Or an animal? Something was here with him. He stalked through the trees towards where he had sent that stone flying. He hoped it would land satisfyingly in the middle of that frozen lake. On his approach he saw it in fact met its mark. Thatâs when he noticed the human vehicle parked near the shore and a small pale hand scrabbling at the edge of the ice. For a moment he thought about just flying away. He wouldnât have to deal with whatever it was. It was just a human. Right? But something made him stop and reach out a massive hand, scooping you from the water. When he lifted you towards his face to examine you, he noticed something alarming. You werenât moving. A tinge of guilt gripped his spark. He hadnât meant to cause harm to the thing. All these years on earth and he hadnât let himself get this close to its squishy little inhabitants. It looked startlingly like a Cybertronian sparkling. His optics narrow as worry grips him. Poking you with a servo gently to push you over onto your back in his hand, he presses it cautiously to your chest. Your little heartbeat is there, but itâs faint. He vents in exasperation. The night wasnât meant to go like this.
