FRIENDS (1994-2004) 4.09 The One Where They're Going to Party!

The Sohmas (Fruits Basket) as Birthstones Revised:

I decided to make this because to me “Fruits Basket” was the “Steven Universe” for me before I even watched the latter show. Tohru is kind of like Steven in a way, healing lost broken things/people with their kindness and loving nature. Tohru even has a dead mother and lives with 3 other people. That’s pretty much it, though.

One reason why I’m doing this is because I wanted to make a “Steven Universe” version of this anime since anime is definitely smiled upon in that show. So in my headcanon, the show in that universe will be called Fruit Salad (call me out if you can think of a better title). Instead of turning into animals when stressed or hugged by the opposite sex, they will turn into their true form as aliens from another galaxy. That’s pretty much all I got for now considering it’s just a headcanon of an anime within a cartoon show.

 So here’s the list so far.

Hatsuharu – Onyx (fusion of Black Tourmaline and White Tourmaline)(Gem Placement: right hand and left hand)

Kisa – Cryolite (Gem Placement: stomach)

Momiji – Golden Topaz (Gem Placement: chest)

Hatori – Dravite Tourmaline (Gem Placement: left eye)

Ayame – Septaria (Gem Placement: front side of the neck)

Isuzu – Arfvedsonite (Gem Placement: nose)

Hiro – Carnelian (Gem Placement: forehead)

Ritsu – Rhodochrosite (Gem Placement: back)

Kureno – Stichtite (Gem Placement: stomach)

Shigure – Tourmilated Quartz (Gem Placement: backside of the neck)

Kagura – Variscite (Gem Placement: chest)

Yuki – Sodalite (Gem Placement: forehead)

Kyo – Bloodstone (because of his beads for is bracelet were from bones and some were dipped with blood.) (Gem Placement: left wrist)

Akito -  Serpentine (Gem Placement: forehead)

Isuzu – Pearl (Gem Placement: chest or nose)

Hiro – Ruby (Gem Placement: forehead or neck)

Ritsu – Peridot (Gem Placement: stomach or back)

Kureno – Sapphire (Gem Placement: stomach)

Shigure – Opal (Gem Placement: forehead or neck)

Kagura – Topaz (Gem Placement: chest, right hand, or left hand)

Yuki – Turquoise (Gem Placement: forehead)

Kyo – Bloodstone (because of his beads for is bracelet were from bones and some were dipped with blood. Not to mention that it was a stand-in for the March birthstone. This is one of the closest months to February, the month of the Tiger. Tiger being a feline that should be quite fitting for the unofficial year of the cat) (Gem Placement: Nose, chest, right hand, or left hand)

Akito -  Serpentine (SNEOPLE!) (Gem Placement: forehead)

 This are not set in stone (pun intended). This is just a basis for what their gems need to be to fit with their cursed years. If you want to help find a gem that truly fits them and still corresponds with their animal month. Here’s something to help. Just search the stones for their following signs (except for Kyo and Akito. They’re the rebels).

 Hatsuharu – Capricorn

Kisa – Aquarius

Momiji – Pisces

Hatori – Aries

Ayame  - Taurus

Isuzu – Gemini

Hiro – Cancer

Ritsu – Leo

Kureno – Virgo

Shigure – Libra

Kagura – Scorpio

Yuki – Sagittarius

 Just to be clear I’m going by their cursed dates, not birthdates (if I was there would have been 4 rubies and 2 garnets). Be free to help decide where all their gem placements should be. Just keep in my mind that “gem placements = personality influence” is the unspoken canon of the Steven Universe show.

I feel like more people need to see this, like my friends (Yes I have friends, surprising) because I do spiritual stuff sometimes and knowing all these gems and knowing their spiritual info kinda helps. Sorry I'm kinda rambling.

I got an idea for a Steven Universe Fan Comic I want to make but I need background gems! Specifically Spinels but all types would be welcome.

This comic would take place between the movie and SUF.

If you’d like to see your gem in it you can send me a ref and some basic info! Either in dm, by tagging me, or as a submition! (I’ll be sooooo surprised if someone actually responds but I have my fingers crossed)

Another edit. This time with my only male gem, Powered Blue Zircon.

He was a Homeworld gem who ended up stranded on Earth during the Victorian era. He preferred the male fashion at the time and took in a male form. As the decades went by he stuck with the male persona he made.

He opened a tailor shop that now handles high end suits and dresses. His shop is called PB Zirconia.

He wears human clothes and is the de facto leader of the Stranded gems on Earth.

They keep in touch via a cool online chat room where they all swap stories of their past and current lives.

He’s a lovable dork who tries to act cooler than he is. He may or may not have been made subconsciously as personal fan service 😅

So I’m starting with one of my more recent and current favs Watermelon Tourmaline.

She’s a fusion between an Emerald and Red Agate and because of that is huge. And each of her components has their own pearl so she has two Pearls, Zinnia and Primrose

In this pic she’s shown holding her Pearls, my Ivy (bicolor) Sapphire, Moss Agate and Leaf Green Pearl (Mossy and her pearl Leafy)

Leafy is in her palm and Zinnia and Primrose are in her right shoulder/arm
