Okay first of all I love Cat King, queer icon fr but also itâs driving me insane that he gave Edwin a lily because arenât lilies like super poisonous to cats lol and itâs driving me bonkers actually,, idk it just wonât leave my brain cat king my dude donât give ur crush poison please (I know lilies arenât poison to Edwin but stiLL)
(I actually really loved their goodbye but I also did experience fear for a moment, straight up thought cat king was about to perish)

I mean-
Cat King, mockingly: Well, aren't you sugar and spice and everything nice? Charles: Well, aren't you rudeness and sarcasm and everything⌠uh⌠Cat King: No, go on. You find something that rhymes with sarcasm and makes sense and I'll stop acting like an asshole.
Cat King: You have friends and I envy that. Edwin: You're welcome to share my friends. Cat King: *looks at Charles, Crystal, and Niko* Cat King: I don't want those.
The Cat King is such a good âvillainâ. He isnât traditionally evil, but to Edwin he is evil and predatory. We arenât supposed to like him until the end. He is everything Edwin needs in a villain. The Cat King isnât ashamed to be queer, different, sexual, everything that Edwin wishes he were not. He represents what his parents and society told him was evil. Being like the Cat King is what got Edwin murdered. Despite being so evil we grow to see him and Edwin kind of bond, especially after Edwin confesses. Accepting the Cat King as a tentative ally shows that Edwin has accepted his queerness as well. This show is chock full of metaphors for being queer and I love it.

When Charles went to find Edwin in hell what if Edwin wasnât in the room. What if Charles went down to hell and he best friend of some odd 30 years or so wasnât there and all he saw was heâs best friends body being ripped apart by the spider-baby-demon-thing. That wouldâve been devastating but also like what if he got to see Edwin running and getting caught and then torn apart. Thatâs would also have been devastating but what if. I mean sure I wouldâve been sobbing hysterically and all that but like it wouldâve been fun (put me in that writers room yâall all be dead, and cry hysterically but it would be fun).

Yes this is another post about Dead Boy Detectives okay Iâm on a roll.
Simons punishment in Hell is so heartbreaking to me. He has to tear pages out of the book where he put Edwin and his initials and the âheadmasterâ tells him he can stop when he finishes the whole book, but the book keeps replacing itself. And it hits so emotionally if you have ever had to hide or repress queer emotion. Simon is being punished for simply having emotion and he thinks if he can stop having that emotion (finish tearing out all the pages) all the pain will stop. Being queer isnât something that just leaves you⌠it is always there and sometimes it causes you pain because others canât accept it maybe even you yourself canât accept it. (Ex. Simon saying Does it have to be torture? Bring the way we are?) Then our boy Edwin who has been trying to deal with the repression heâs had for so long tells him that itâs okay to be queer and if you ever make yourself believe itâs not okay you are making your own hell.
That whole scene was very sad and also happy since Simon ends up accepting himself. I cried about it multiple times (rn is one of those times).
Edwin asking Charles âwhatâs a handjob?â is my version of what would kill a Victorian child.
The forever question you have to ask in wlw relationships. Are the sparks between us because we like each other or because a sprite is trying to kill you?

The Cat King did not sexually harass Edwin. I'm tired of seeing this bullshit.
He only offered to sleep with him once and as soon as he saw that Edwin was uncomfortable, he offered him another task.
Yes, he continued to flirt with him the other 2 times he saw her, but at no time did he try to force Edwin to do something he didn't want to do. That's all the difference.
And also, for the thousandth time, Edwin was clearly in crush on the Cat King in return. He enjoyed all the flirting and interest the Cat King gave him. Not only that but it was positive for his development.
So please, people stop talking about this bullshit.
I also saw someone say that the Cat King acted like a predator towards Edwin... But in what way ?
Because he asked him to sleep with him ? Do you know that sexual proposition does not necessarily equal predatory ?
Because he put a spell on him ? Punishment for Edwin doing the same thing to one of his cats.
That he had him watched ? Well he literally gave him a task / punishment to accomplish in his own town. Logically, he therefore keeps an eye on Edwin.
Whether people liked it or not, but Edwin liked the Cat King and was attracted to him. He was not traumatized by him. He's not afraid of him. He appreciated all the flirting and interest that was shown in him. And the Cat King didn't force him to do anything at all. He didn't even try. The complete opposite of the behavior of a predator and a sexual harasser.
Frankly, it's getting ridiculous. It's okay to dislike the Cat King and the Catwin relationship, but stop trying to turn it into something it's not.
What are you so afraid of ? Edwin will probably end up with Charles anyway.
But I imagine that what once again drives these people crazy is precisely the fact that canonically, whether they liked it or not, Edwin had a crush on the Cat King and appreciated his attentions, without experiencing / feeling them like attacks, which they obviously were not, as I said in many others posts...

I might be controversial, I know a lot of people don't like it, but in my opinion Crystal dresses the best đđđ¤. Post amnesia Crystal too. Her outfits are loud and weird but that's what I like about them.

The fey canonically exists in the Sandman Universe.
Their lore wasn't deeply explored in "The Dreaming: Waking Hours" where a major part of the plot took place in their realm, but they did seem to follow the traditional versions and go by the same rules.
