I like to think that Spamton could’ve met Jevil Before he met Mike
And due to Jevil’s position as the court jester, with presumably Seam being his only friend, it’s very possible that he saw himself in Spamton, an unsuccessful joke of a salesman, allowing the two to become friends (in a sort of “only-I-get-to-pick-on-you” kind of way)
But then Jevil gets corrupted and goes insane and maybe Spamton hears him ramble about freedom and he tries to dismiss it, but. It Sticks With Him
And once he meets Mike and makes it big, maybe he starts convincing himself that Jevil was just making fun of him and trying to steer him into the “wrong” type of freedom and that capitalism is the only way to escape depravity — which causes his fears to turn into resentment (thus, “I’ll surpass that clown around town”)
I imagine that when they reunite in Kris’ pocket it plays out kind of like scenario 3 in the sense that Spamton has all this Built Up Hatred and blows up at Jevil from the Slightest Things, except Jevil’s kind of inwardly like “???? What happened to you” but doesn’t know how to approach the subject because Spamton’s just So Angry all the time so instead he plays off his concern as teasing
Like “lololol imagine being abandoned by all your friends like how tf does that happen” but he’s trying to goad Spamton into Venting so he can piece together what the Hell happened during the century he spent in prison (and maybe comfort the poor guy but that can come later)
need 2 get words out of my head or my head will explode like a confetti party popper. thinking about potential jevil / spamton meetings based on the scraps we know in canon
