As a fan of both, I totally agree with this. Steven Universe vs. Transformers would have made for an interesting crossover.
the thing w Transformers is if you get into it deep enough eventually you're like 'wait this is just yaoi Steven Universe'. but then you remember that Transformers predates Steven Universe by a number of years so its like. has Steven Universe been yuri Transformers all along? much to think about.
I like watching you update your pfp lately since youre getting back into drawing and now that its colored i just wanna say live your purple eye dreams!!! I love them and I fully believe no one ever grows out of the 'purple eyes are cool' phase💜💜if I could handle contacts I would SO have purple ones💜anyway love the art, love the writing, love the life tidbits at the start of each chapter and I hope you have a great day🔥💌
🤣 Thank you so much! I’m just silly
• Entering his quarters with food he’d thieved from the kids, he stops short realizing you’re singing to the mini-cons. Treating them like your sparklings and he really isn’t sure how to respond when you notice him and fall silent, smiling up at him. “They’re adults,” he mutters, bending to drop the little packet in your lap. Growling softly in reprimand when Runaway grabs for it.
• “Oh.” That still doesn’t explain if they’re his adult kids, though. “Thank you.” And his wings flick slightly as he frowns down at you. He’s watching you take the package back from Runway and open it to pop a cookie in your mouth. But then he’s always watching you even if he goes to great pains to not touch you unless he has to. You can feel the weight of his stare now, almost a physical caress.
• “You don’t need to thank me,” he growls, shifting uncomfortably when you just smile up at him. Like he said something funny. But it’s more than that, though, you’ve been smiling more lately, relaxing around him and the mini-cons. Apparently taking his decree to watch over them seriously. And maybe he enjoys watching them follow you around, Runway grabbing at the back of your shirt like he’s afraid of losing you. Maybe he looks forward to having someone to talk to in the evenings even if you are just a human.
• “I want to.” Because he can’t know that taking you, might have saved your life. That you hadn’t realized how numb you were, until you weren’t scared all the time. And despite his gruff indifference, you think he does care. Maybe not for you, but you’ve seen the way he worries over the mini-cons. “Are they your kids?”
• Wings flicking straight up, his lips thin. Oh, definitely not his kids. “No,” he growls and you bite into the inside of your cheek to keep from laughing at the look on his face. Turning away to eat another cookie so you don’t start laughing at how offended he looks. Definitely not daddy then.

What is that supposed to mean, I do a great job taking care of you
I'm interested in how would you actually go about writing Mandroid.
Honestly, I like what the show gave us, I just think they're should've been more. The Production Bible refers to Mandroid as a tragic villain. We get crumbs of that, but it was like the writers were afraid to make Mandroid even the slightest sympathetic. That's why I'm so salty about the reunion scene we got between him and Alex. It could've been a great way to show that there's still some humanity left in Mandroid and see a glimpse of the man he used to be before he lost his arm. I actually wrote a fic about the way I was hoping it would play out.
There's a quote from him that really needed exploring. When he captures Thrash and Twitch in the series premiere he says:
"We have much in common, you and I. Part of two different worlds. Neither of which accepts us for who we are."
To me, this is a big piece of the puzzle that made Mandroid go down the path he did. I'd have it where he hates the Transformers after losing his arm, but doesn't come to the attaching Transformer parts to himself plan until later. That he did try to carry on with his life as normal as he could, but faced negative treatment from people due to being an amputee. It's telling that he became a recluse and I think it's important to explain why he became one. He was left alone with his thoughts/hatred and it made him unhinged. I find it telling that he programmed the Arachnamechs to have personality.
As for him returning which is highly possible considering that the Malto Healing Ray undid the effects of the Death Ray, I'm still in the process of figuring out how I'd exactly want it to play out. Of course he's not going to take it well that everything he did was pointless. He's going to want revenge against the Maltos. There's just one problem, he came back wrong and is now an energon vampire. Now he has to rely on the very beings he wants to destroy because energon patches don't really work. Ideally I somehow write the Arachnamechs making a reappearance considering that any softer moments he had involved them.
So yeah, this character obviously takes up a lot of space in my brain.
I did a thing! I'm going to need my walker for BotCon next week, and it's just so drab. So I got a bunch of flame decals and Transformers stickers and went to town.
Two weeks ago my cane got a similar treatment.
Binged the new Earthspark eps today!! I'm sobbing up a storm
