You know, it occurs to me that Judge isn’t just some blank persona that Deputy has taken on; it a combination of traits from all the Seed siblings.
I remember reading that when you activate Judge as a Gun For Hire, they appear from out of nowhere in a cloud of fog. I think maybe that’s a nod to Faith and how she used to appear in a cloud of Bliss fog.
Their whole appearance is a nod to Jacob’s Hunters, not to mention the choice of name- ‘Judge’- is also another nod to him. Joseph has probably told Judge/ Dep to test those that wish to find him and judge their worthiness. Trials, anyone?
Then there is their whole role as a Judge, judging sinners and probably (?) helping them reach the atonement, likely not through any gentle or passive means. Sounds a little like John, don’t you think?
To round it off, to sum up this short character analysis of a person who is made up of the traits of many, think of the only time we see the Seed Siblings together. Its right at the beginning of Far Cry 5 and what are they doing? Standing silently at Joseph’s back in shadow. What have we been told about Judge? That they are silent and always at Joseph’s back; that they are his shadow. Might be reading too much into things, but it was fun to think about.
Edit: Wow, this blew up. Also, forgot to tag @nick-rye-the-pilot-guy and @theeonlyroman
I started writing a Far Cry New Dawn thing
Inside of a giant mechanical flying fish. Cozy but comfortable Added in a few stills by request from: @smirkingravens
Posting two headcanons posts in a row because I just finished writing this and I absolutely love it. Just… thanks to the anon who requested this. 💖😭 Writing this made me really happy and I think I needed it.
Also, please request more stuff with Nick because I love writing about him omg.
From the first moment she sets her eyes on the silhouette, she knows it’s the Dep.
She doesn’t really know how to react because she’s just speechless.
So, one evening, when the Judge is alone in a corner of Prosperity, Kim takes Carmina with her and decides to introduce them.
She doesn’t confront the Judge about who they are.
“Hey, I just thought you might have wanted to meet my daughter, Carmina”
The Judge acts all nervous and she hears an anxious and nostalgic sob behind their mask.
“Someone really brave and caring helped us on the day of her birth.”
Carmina is weirded out by that comment. Like wtf mom ??
But at that moment, the Judge understands that Kim knows.
She takes their hand and the Judge squeezes it a little.
They’re happy to meet again after all this time, even if they both stay silent.
Kim is the one who told him about it.
He’s hot with rage when she talks about how devoted they are to Joseph now.
“That’s bullshit ! After all this time, the Dep just betrays us like this ??”
So he goes to find them, determined to give them a piece of his mind.
But when he finds them, he suddenly recognizes all of their mannerisms ; the way they move, their hand gestures…
And he just breaks down in front of them.
“Hey, Partner,” he cries.
The Judge stops moving, shocked.
Nick sits next to them. He’s crying but acts like he’s not.
“It’s been a while, huh ?… You’ve seen- huh… You’ve seen your goddaughter ? She grew up quite a bit. Would’ve loved to have you around to teach her how to live… Kim says she makes her think about you, how you were back in the days… ”
The Judge puts their shoulder against Nick’s. He gives them a little push.
“We all missed you.”
They spend the whole night talking together… Or rather Nick talks and the Judge listen quietly, sometimes snickering or grunting a little.
The partners are back in business together.
It takes him a while to realize it.
But he slowly starts to notice how similar the Judge and the Dep are…
And it always seems like they’re trying to reach out to him ? But they never do it.
So he starts dropping hints about his suspicions when the Judge is around…
“Once, my best friend and I took back a whole outpost with nothing but our flamethrowers. It was wild, man. Do you… like flamethrowers ?”
“My best friend’s favorite weapon was a bow as well… What a coincidence, huh ?”
So eventually, the Judge understands what he’s trying to do and they reveal who they are to Sharky.
At which point he just hugs them. He’s a bit angry at them for disappearing for so long, but his happiness is just so much stronger that he can’t stay mad.
“Man, I knew it was you. I knew you couldn’t have died… You’re too awesome to die !!! We’ve got a lot of things to catch up on, huh ? Come on, let’s grab a drink.”
So the Judge follows Sharky and the spend the next few days together.
Sharky talks about the good old days or what happened to him after the Collapse.
He’s a bit frustrated that his best friend won’t talk to him (and he has tons of questions)… But they’ve never been a big talker so he’s just happy to have them by his side again.
He sees Sharky hanging out with the Judge more and more so finally he wonders why.
“Sharky man, why are you hangin’ out with that weird masked dude so much ?”
“Hurk, that’s the Dep.”
“WHAT ?!”
Almost instantaneously, Hurk goes to find the Dep and make sure it’s them.
When he confronts them, the Judge nods quietly and Hurk just breaks down.
“DUDE, it’s really you ?? I missed you, man. All those crazy adventures we had ? Man, that was some good time. OMG, I’ve got a kid now dude. I’m a daddy ! You wanna meet Blade ? We could teach him some cool shit together !!!”
So the Judge follows Hurk and he introduce them to Blade. They’re really careful and afraid to hurt this little kid.
“Hey, I know you’re already Carmina’s godparent and all… But I was thinking that, maybe, you could be Blade’s too ? I don’t know man, I just want him to grow up as awesome as me and Sharky and… you. You know ?”
The Judge hugs Hurk. They’re crying behind their mask…

This was excatly my first thought that Joseph abused, did something to judge/deputy. And i think judge has trouble with breathing sometimes?
Since tumblr is like eating half the ask when I answer it.
I can see it but I also can’t. Like seeing how Joseph is in New Dawn and Far Cry 5. New Dawn Joseph just seems like a dude trying to get by while living by his doctorine. Far Cry 5 Joseph has always read as a little more manipulative, you know?
Speaking as someone who has had a sibling murdered, I can understand Joseph wanting to hurt the Deputy for killing his family. (The Deputy was totally justified in killing them, but grief doesn’t always let you see straight) Like I can’t imagine having to spend 7 years ALONE with the person who killed my family. I would have a very strong urge to inflict violence upon them. So I can believe that Joseph acted out of grief and rage at some point, he’s human. Joseph and Dep could have very easily gotten into a fight, especially confined in a small space for so long. Joseph has been shown to use violence to get his way, it’s a last resort for him but he will do it.
Joseph could easily have injured the Deputy and then manipulated them into seeing it as their fault.
The Deputy also probably has that soul crushing guilt for bringing on the apocalypse, because Joseph was right. Joseph was right and now all their friends are dead. Joseph who probably tells them every day that this is their fault. Joseph probably had manic episodes, he probably sequestered himself for days, leaving the Deputy alone to their thoughts for god knows how long.
The Deputy probably hurt themselves, trying to make it right in their head. They probably screamed and shouted at the walls til they couldn’t shout anymore.
Whatever happened, they probably have problems breathing now too, like you can hear it. Maybe it’s the mask but just the way they like gasp makes it seem like they may be struggling.
There’s a mutated cat colony that lives near New Eden.
The Judge feeds them, she tries to keep it a secret but it doesn’t work out when the cats follow her back to the compound.
She does the same for the stray dogs.
Joseph doesn’t necessarily approve, but has yet to stop her.
The Judge used to be a pretty accomplished artist, and sometimes you can catch her practicing on her off time. (Not that she has much)
Joseph is the only one that usually gets to see her work tho.
Occasionally when New Eden has a night of music and dancing in a dark corner away from everyone else you can catch Joseph and the Judge dancing alone.
Judge does have a sense of humor tho. Its unique to them but it does Exist, despite what everyone thinks.
There are plenty of inside jokes between Joseph and the Judge.
The Judge and Joseph are practically inseparable. Most people just see the Judge as an extension of Joseph.
New Eden thinks that the Judge reports everything they hear/do to Joseph and it creates paranoia when the Judge is around.
The Judge really does not care, if what they hear doesn’t affect Joseph and it doesn’t hurt New Eden the Judge could not care less, until Joseph disappears.
When Joseph leaves for the mountains the Judge stays behind. Most people believe they’re his eyes, and they aren’t wrong.
You know how Ethan casually plots to murder Joseph in front of the Judge in game? Yea no, that doesn’t fly at all with the Judge. (I don’t know why they let him get away with it in game)
No one knows what the Judge looks like, it’s one of the great mysteries of New Eden.
It drives Ethan up the wall that he hasn’t even seen their face.
“Joseph is dead. You answer to ME now.”
Cue the Judge just staring him down until he backs off.
Judge knows exactly where Joseph is, and does not deign to let Ethan know.
Rook speaks in grunts to fuck with their old friends and you can’t change my mind.
judge rook just started crying outta nowhere in a flower field to surf music and i panicked
I finished New Dawn and couldn’t bring myself to kill Joseph at the end. From videos I’ve seen, if you take Judge with you for the mission and do end up killing him, they kneel down and weep. On the flip side though, I wanted to write something Judge/ Joseph focused that deals with what happens when Joseph lives, where he goes and what the Judge thinks/ does about it. This was also partly inspired by when I went back to Dutch’s bunker and found the door was now closed. Both of my characters were female, so I’m going to be writing using female pronouns in this story. Also going to issue a warning that this story makes several references to suicide attempts.
No one had seen or heard from Joseph since Ethan’s death. Captain seemed quite convinced that after how adamantly he’d wanted her to kill him; that he’d gone away somewhere and committed suicide. With the remaining members of New Eden scattered to the wind, the people of Prosperity seemed to accept this assumption and get on with their lives. A few even seemed pleased by the idea.
Not Judge though. Without Joseph around, the masked shadow seemed to be lost, and her former friends noticed. Though they didn’t fully understand how the fierce Deputy they’d once know could have bonded with the man who had essentially been her arch enemy, that didn’t change the fact that she had and now she was suffering with him gone.
Judge had been spotted multiple times wandering through Prosperity and the surrounding area in the dead of night when everyone but those on guard were asleep. She never seemed to have a goal in mind, just wandered aimlessly picking flowers or picking up handfuls of dirt and staring at it in her hand before tossing it back on the ground. Though the behaviour was, odd, to say the least all of her former friends agreed to keep an eye on her and do their best to help her deal with whatever grief she was feeling.
One night, Nick found himself unable to sleep and decided to go out to the garage and tinker on a buggy that the Captain had brought back after her latest outing. Stepping out of the main doors, he paused at hearing a soft sort of crying noise. Figuring it was likely just an animal, he headed to the workshop but the sound kept getting louder and as he entered the workshop, he found Judge huddled in the corner near some boxes; knees drawn up to their chest and sobbing. The sound was heartbreaking; so strangled and painful sounding.
“Hey, uh, you … you alright Ju- Dep?” Nick asked, approaching carefully and crouching down a short distance in front of them.
Judge continued so sob as she held something out to Nick that was wrapped around her hand. It was a simple set of rosary beads and he assumed that they probably once belonged to Joseph. Had he given them to her as a gift, or had she picked them up years ago and claimed them as her own?
“You, miss him don’t you?” Nick asked quietly as Judge retracted her hand, cradling the rosary across her heart as her body continued to shake.
Judge nodded before a fresh wave of despair seemed to overcome her and she wailed again, scrambling forward and holding onto Nick like her life depended on it. He was slightly taken aback but after a moment, he closed his arms around her and hugged her tightly. The only time he ever remembered hugging Dep as she cried was after the Marshal shot Virgil and himself at the prison. Everything she’d endured at the time; everything that she’d been holding in; had just gotten too much and she’d broken down. How much was one person supposed to endure? He hated seeing his friend in that state back then, but somehow it was even worse now. Nick couldn’t believe he was even considering it, but if being with Joseph was what made Judge happy … then he would just have to find him for her.
It took getting Sharky to agree to answering all of Bean’s sex related questions, no matter how embarrassing or awkward they were, before the young man agreed to temporarily divert his scouts from gathering information to looking for Joseph. He hadn’t told Judge yet, didn’t want to get her hopes up in case they couldn’t find the old man. Each of her former friends as well as some new ones were taking turns looking after her. As it turned out though, Hurk and Gina were the ones that came up with what seemed to calm her most. The first time she held baby Blade, Nick could see her whole body relax and he wondered if it was bringing back memories of Carmina as a baby.
She would sit for hours with Blade, playing with him or just laying in the flowers gazing up at the clouds. She even made him a simple flower crown, the boy shrieking with delight and dissolving into giggles as she placed it on his head. By the end of that day, almost everyone in the community was wearing a flower crown. The night always came though, and every night Nick would pass by her room only to hear the soft whimpering coming from the other side of the door.
It was almost three weeks before Bean came to Nick, telling him that one of his scouts had received word from a wandering trader that he had seen Joseph in the vicinity of Dutch’s bunker not long after Ethan died. It made sense really, and if he was holed up in there, it would explain why no-one had seen him since.
Nick felt nervous as he approached Judge to tell her the news, knowing that if she left to find Joseph, he may never see her again. He didn’t want to loose his best friend a second time, but it wasn’t about what he wanted. It was about what was best for her. She didn’t move or say anything as he told her; the rosary now secured around her right wrist, and they sit in silence for almost a minute before anything happens. Slowly, she got to her feet and shuffled over to a small pack made of leather and furs that she has stuffed in the corner and rummaged in it for a moment before pulling something out and turning back to him. There clasped in her hand were a pair of aviators. They had a slight crack in one of the lenses, but they were almost identical to the ones he owned when they first met.
Judge walked over quietly, her head tilted as she placed the glasses on him, and Nick was almost certain she was probably smiling behind that mask as she did so. She’d always liked giving people things, back before the bombs fell.
“Thank you,” Nick said quietly as he stood and pulled her into what felt like a final hug. “Just know, if you do find him and I can’t believe I’m god damn sayin’ this … but if you do and want some place nicer to live than a hole in the ground, you can come back here with him. You’ll always have a home here.”
It didn’t take all that long for Judge to reach Dutch’s island. She’d managed to avoid any remnants of the Highwaymen entirely and was now walking up the familiar muddy path to where she hoped she would find Joseph. She more than anyone knew what grief and guilt could do to a person, and what it could make them do to themselves.
She subconsciously rubbed at her neck as she walked, remembering the feeling of the rope tightening around her neck all of those years ago in the bunker. That had been the final straw in rendering her unable to speak, her vocal cords and larynx already damaged by then from constant and prolonged bouts of screaming and attempting to drink anything in the bunker that was even slightly toxic. Judge could remember Joseph rushing in and cutting her down, then holding her and singing softly as he cradled her against him. He’d told her several times that he had forgiven her, but it was in that moment when she saw the fear in his eyes at the thought of loosing her that she truly believed him.
Eventually she reached the bunker, finding the door firmly closes. She tried pulling it open a few times with no success, even tried knocking hoping in vain that Joseph would answer. However, she had been prepared for such and since she couldn’t call out to him, she would have to let him know that it was her on the other side of the door in another way.
Reaching into her pack, she pulled out a small cassette player and set it on the ground before pressing play. The lyrics to Amazing Grace started drifting through the air as loudly as she could make them before she sat down on the damp earth and waited. As cliche as it was, this was their song and if it didn’t work, she didn’t know-
Judge’s train of thought was interrupted at the sound of creaking metal and she scrambled to her feet as the bunker door began to open. Moments later, the older man stepped out into the sun, surprise and confusion all over his face as he stopped and stared at her.
“I … of all the people I expected to come looking for me, I never thought it would be you,” Joseph said after a moment before taking a shaky step forward and placing his hands on the side of her face as he had done so many times before and touched their foreheads together. ““I was wrong, and in my arrogance I hurt you; blamed you and drove you to-”
Judge drew back suddenly, shaking her head at him before pulling a small slip of paper from under the rosary and handing it to him. Confused, Joseph unfolded the piece of paper and read it.
You forgave me, now I forgive you. You saved me, now I save you. Prosperity is hope, and it is home. Let’s go home.
“Home, I rather like the sound of that,” Joseph said with a slight smile. “However, if this is to be our fresh start, I think we should seize it as our true selves, don’t you?”
Judge shrunk back slightly, shaking as Joseph raised his hands and gently removed her mask before dropping it on the ground. She was beginning to panic before she felt him take her right hand and all the nerves seemed to dissolve as the warmth of his skin that seeped through her glove seemed to calm and centre her. His thumb brushed gently over the rosary beads as he looked at her and smiled, remembering giving them to her on this very spot when they emerged from the bunker 11 years prior.
“Your forgiveness will be my light when my thoughts grow dark,” he says to her as they turn away from the bunker and start walking down the trail. “Let’s go home … Deputy.”
Wow, did that turn out WAY longer than I thought it would. Apologies for any tense/ spelling mistakes. I was very sleepy when I wrote this but I pushed through because I wanted to share it with all of you. Let me know what you think. As always, tagging @nick-rye-the-pilot-guy and @theeonlyroman so they can enjoy the feels.
“My brothers. My sister. All lost. Ashes…”

Judging by Zephyr’s apparent age, the epilogue takes place at least 8-10 years after Toothless and Hiccup separated. Dragons, in this universe, appear to age relatively quickly. Toothless is 15 in the first movie and based on his experience level, he seems to have been an adult for several years. From that, we can safely deduce that Furies probably take no longer than 10 years to reach maturity.
Now look at these little pumpkin pies. They’re obviously very young. They can fly (though rather haphazardly), but Gift of the Night Fury showed us that dragon nestlings can fly relatively soon after hatching. Therefore, we can conclude that these bundles of joy are likely under a year old. This brings us to one of two conclusions:
1) Furies’ breeding cycles are several years long, or they take many years to reach sexual maturity. Furies are rare dragons, and this could be attributed to the fact that many adults are killed before they are able to produce a significant number of offspring (as is the case in many real-world endangered species). This would explain why Toothless and the Light Fury only just now had babies.
Or…
2) This clutch of offspring is the latest of several, and Toothless and the Light Fury already have numerous adolescent/young adult Night Lights flying around the Hidden World causing mischief.

Made a thing because I’ve been asked a few times what my main brushes that I use are!
It’s happened before and it’s bound to happen again so I’m backing up my brush settings in the form of this tumblr post just in case SAI decides to throw them out ;0;
Feel free to take them and mess with them, I got most of them from online anyways!
Cloud and Space brushes are better light on dark backgrounds btw And Halftone Textures are by Immuni on dA x

I saw Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse a few days ago.
Great movie. 20/10, would recommend.
Now, here’s the thing about the fanbase, though. I’ve seen a lot of people shipping Spider-Ham and Spider-Man Noir, and I’m not hating on it (cause I’ve got plenty of weird ships), but like… I think you guys are forgetting about another potential ship…
Now, the question is… What would their ship name be?
putting this up, since my website project for university is finished and I don’t have to put it on the web anymore.

A tip for blending when painting digitally: use a transition color! I quickly made this when my brother asked for art advice while I was working on a painting for my best friend. (I was watching a lot of makeup videos to pick out her gifts).
Some advice for drawing people who have both hair… and horns!! :O
Also, you may feel more comfortable drawing the whole horn first, and that’s fine too! Mostly the point is just to try to draw the hair growing around the horn, rather than under it.
Hope this helps!
