It's still surprising to me how underrated this ship is. These two share so many moments together where they clearly rely on and care for each other, that they can understand what the other means wordlessly. Their relationship dynamic is simple and yet there is so much depth. Especially, I was rewatching the battle of Zoro & Luffy vs Kaido, in which Zoro once again claims that if Luffy dies, he's going with him. BASICALLY, he's saying that he has no reason to live if there is no Luffy, and RIGHT AFTER Luffy CONFIRMS that?
Just in general Oda has developed their relationship; you can actually see the difference in how their trust level is building from the beginning, and how Zoro changes because of Luffy. I cannot wait to see Luffy learn how many sacrifices his swordsman has done for him.
Yet it's weird that it's not a popular ship? Every time I bring it up, I get various responses like "oh I'd have never thought to ship them" or "why would you??". WHY WOULD YOU NOT? Just look at them!? They are clearly beyond normal friendship.
How about Luffy and Zoro but they also just crashed after exams and are cuddling together? :)

have luffy overheating and zoro having a stomach ache from all the thinking and studying
I just want Zoro to devour Luffy. To hug him close, fold him, and put him under his haramaki. I just want Luffy to find serenity in Zoro. To close his eyes and lulled to a deep, comforting nothingness that makes him full. Like being with zoro makes him feel that he needs nothing else.
I just want Zoro to savor Luffy, chew him till soft and mushy. I can see Luffy dancing on a mirror stage that is Zoro's palm, seeing himself shimmering and vibrant on the reflection. He dances with the colors Zoro saw of the world since the first time he laid eyes on Luffy.
I think my favorite thing about zolu is that not only is it peak moron4moron, but like
Zoro and Luffy are each convinced that they have the braincell in the relationship. Luffy is like “aw Zoro it’s okay that youre stupid :)” and zoro says “I don’t wanna hear that from you” and they’re both resigned to being moronsexual meanwhile everyone else is watching Luffy just say the most batshit things that cross his mind and Zoro try to will away blood loss and they think “they’re made for each other”

it makes me sick to think that people don’t think luffy cares as much about zoro it makes me SICK!! opla luffy said (I need you, you could never fail me, holding his hand against his heart) what animanga luffy breathes in and out daily. he does not tell zoro how special he is, how much he relies on his constant presence by his side. bc it’s a given. it’s second nature. of course he will look for zoro in a crowd and say hello to him first. of course he will feel his absence so severely that even hours or days or mere weeks feels like a lifetime and break his unspoken rule of not concerning himself with the past to ask about zoro’s time away from him. of course he will trust him implicitly and offer to share his lunch with him and have less fun without him and blush at the sight of him and expect to spend the rest of his days with his second half. because zoro holds & protects his heart, and luffy does not need to remind him it’s beating
