First post!! That’s so exciting! Okay so for just a quick one here’s some headcanons I have from the time where Iroh and Zuko were at the tea shop

Lee was a….really bad employee. Like genuinely awful. He poured tea in people’s laps a lot, he was never where he was supposed to be, and his attitude was at best grumpy. In spite of all of that the regulars really liked having Lee around! They were mostly a bunch of old people who had seen their sons and grandsons all leave to go be a part of the war, so having a young man around them, even a young man who was so abrasive, was nice. Besides even under all of his anger there was clearly a good natured side to Lee.

When the shop was slow and the manager was out, Mushi would break out a Pai Sho table and challenge anyone to beat him in a game. If you did you would win free tea for a week and a generous serving of cake to go along with it. No one ever even came close to beating him

No one ever asked about Lee’s scar. It was one of those unspoken things that was just never mentioned. It was obvious what had happened, and none of them needed to know the whole gruesome story. Still most of the people who came by the tea shop and saw the boy’s face were more than a little grateful he had found his way to Ba Sing Se with his uncle

The regulars also found it a little sad that Lee couldn’t find any good buddies to pal around with. Even though there were few boys his age left in the lower rings (and those that were left were mostly thugs or low lifes) they still wished that their boy would have some friends of his own. It seemed that all Lee ever did was work. They were all happy to hear that Jin had asked him on a date. Nothing came of it, but Jin and Lee kept up a quaint but charming friendship afterward.

Even after Iroh got the Jasmine Dragon, he kept the prices pretty low, and the old regulars who came up from the lower ring drank for free They didn’t want any “charity” or anything, but Mushi simply wouldn’t take their money. He claimed that they had all beaten him in Pai Sho before, he was shocked they didn’t remember besting him. Lee just grumbled and threatened to push them out of the shop with his broom if they kept trying to give him money. They were also adamant that any customer who had anything bad to say about the customers from the lower ring would be asked to leave and not come back.

its so funny how katara stays being the only person zuko doesn't yell at when they're rightfully mad at him.

Artist Zuko really is one of the best things in the world!!😍

HE IS!! I love the idea of it being therapeutic for him (hence his characterization in All the Lights are Shining). I also love the idea of him just being super casual about it. I headcanon that it was something he had to learn as part of his formal education like all of the other noble kids, but he just became exceptional at it. His mother encouraged him (of course) and Iroh continued to do so once Zuko was in his care. So Zuko is just like, “Yeah. This is a skill I was required to learn, but it’s also one of my favorite hobbies and it helps me work through all of my emotions and trauma. And I guess I’m kind of decent at it?”

Also, when the Gaang finds out he can draw, Suki and Toph mercilessly tease Sokka about how much better an artist Zuko is than him. And Katara and Aang want Zuko to teach them how to draw. They keep asking him and he finally relents. It turns out Aang is pretty decent, but Katara is just as bad as Sokka. Zuko is just perplexed by that because Katara excels at so many things, so how is she so bad at this?

Breaking down after arguing with the kid and hearing them scream how much they hate them and wish they were anywhere but near them.

Fighting and pushing for their kid's justice when the authorities turned a blind eye.

Serving their kid's justice themselves no matter how bloody and ugly it gets.

"Oh sweety, we didn't sacrifice everything just to build you up for someone to just bring you down. come on. I'll make sure they regret every tear that you cried"

Playing in the playground with the kids, screw being a grown-up, and sitting on the bench, if they can fit and slide in the kiddie slide they will join the kids.

Bumping every kid on-site in bump car rides, they are surrounding the kids and targeting any suspected enemy.

Dressing up as chickens taunting the kids' bullies' parents after having a meeting about it and the bullies' parents get away scot-free, they came dressing up as chickens and clucking out of the bullies' house before throwing hands.

Using their kids as partner magnets on play dates but utterly fails when said kids either pull them away or cause some type of chaos to get them home.

Egging bully houses and TPing their yards.

Camping out in the woods to try to live both of your fantasies of being fairies and or witches in the woods only to be attacked by mosquitos, bugs and no proper bathrooms

Zuko's crew. T_T I'm now convinced every night had some sort of family activity soused with boiler room hooch. Zuko has zero poker face on mahjong night, while Jee wipes everyone clean with his RBF. And let's not forget Zuko and Aang are Azula-lightning-scar buddies, too. In through the chest and out through the back.

SOBBING!! you are so right about everything omg. I mean zuko lived on the ship with that crew for three whole years, and like. ok yeah he was at peak bastard mode during that time but they MUST have bonded in some way!! Mandatory game night at least once a week! zuko might be shitty at table games but they find out he obliterates everyone at charade.
