Look, you can pry the concept of Camila, Darius and Eda having a support group for parents of ‘should be extinct kids’ out of my cold, dead hands.

Obviously based on this iconic image:

ZUKO LOOKS MORE LIKE URSA, NOT LIKE OZAI

I mean look at him. This is from fever dream (where he dreams he is the fire lord and doesn't have the scar). He is clearly older in this dream. He looks like the male version of Ursa.

Of course there are a few differences. But they're mostly due to the gender difference. Ursa has kinda softer features.

And apart from this, when he grew old, Zuko looked very much like Avatar Roku whom happens to be his mother's grandfather.

Fandom likes to act like Zuko has Ozai's looks since they like to think there are symbolisms of it. But let's be honest, does this sweet child look anything like Ozai at all?

Some of my Atla headcanons nobody asked for part 6:

Zuko adds a ton of spices to his meals, Sokka pretends he can stand it as well but we all know what his reaction to fire flakes was so it always ends the same

Aang bakes the best pies

Katara modified bloodbending so it could be used to heal instead of hurting people

Sokka was absolutely delighted when he noticed that Zuko is sarcastic as well, the rest of the Gaang in turn, were mortified

The Gaang must have had these hug competitions where the one who hugs the strongest is the winner and after finding out Zuko doesn't know what it is (I mean, he and Azula wouldn't really compete over hugging Ozai, come on) they compete on him (it's all just an excuse to hug him, really) and Zuko acts confused, but deep inside he feels nice

Toph has an unnamed job to sit on Zuko's council meetings as a Earth Kingdom's ambasador and feel who is lying to him, then after the meeting Zuko and Toph go into his office and make a list of people to fire or look out for

On Lu Ten's birthday Iroh always does the rituals like in "The Tales of Ba Sing Se" but on the anniversary of his death he can't force himself to do pretty much anything, those days Zuko never fails to come to make sure uncle eats something, drinks some tea and then he just sit with him just so his uncle knows he's there for him

Today’s interest: Firelord Zuko Headcannons

(With servants)

There’s only like half the staff that the palace should have because Ozai and Azusa fired/killed/mutilated/scared off/etc. the rest

So they’re all trying their hardest to do their jobs and their terrified of messing up in case he’s just like the rest of his family

They know he’s friends with the Avatar but you can never really be sure

At first they all stay out of his way

Then, a group of younger maids see Zuko and Aang feeding the turtle-ducks

Aang pushes Zuko into the pond and the maids are sure he’s going to set the boy on fire

But instead he just laughs and checks to made sure none of the turtle-ducks are hurt

A few days later, the cook walks into the meal hall to see how everyone’s meal is going

Instead he sees the Firelord in a heated debate about theatre with Suki while Aang, Katara, Toph and Sokka are in the middle of a food-fight

The cook makes the mistake of squeaking indignantly at the sight of his hard work all over thirteen year-old faces

When Zuko notices him he quiets the other teenagers down and apologises for the mess, the others quickly following his lead

Over time, the sergeants come to realise that the new Firelord is just a regular child

An eccentric child who owns a third of the entire world, but a child

By the time Zuko turns seventeen, the entire staff has warmed to him, even the new employees who had heard rumours about what Zuko’s predecessers did

He’s genuinely kind to them and interested in their lives in a way that they’d never experienced before, especially not from a noble

Eventually it became normal for Zuko to be found in the kitchen teaching servants how to make good quality tea

Zuko also offered hugs to them

Many of them had lost people to the war, and at first he did it as a way to comfort them

He was stiff and had obviously never done it before but the servants loved that he cared about them enough to step out of his comfort zone

He was also warm and very comfortable once he relaxed

The younger, bolder servants took advantage of this by hugging him whenever they could

At first it was when Zuko was alone, then one servant accidentally hugged him when he was in front of the Gaang

Sokka and Toph thought it was hilarious

Katara and Aang joined the hug

Suki comforted the servant after she freaked out and started crying

When Zuko adopted Druk, the entire staff helped raise him

Somebody asks zuko why ty Lee and she says “because I was the prettiest.”
