My Turkish friends are sending me sings from their protest walks, asking me to share them since the global news don't do them justice. They translated some of them:

1. "No men ever got me as wet as the TOMA (Riot Control Vehicle"

2. "If you water us a bit more, we will bloom. 💋💋"

3. "Mum, I lied, I'm at the protests"

4. "We'll pass both the midterms and the barricades"

5. "How could there be an "authorised protest", girlie!"

6. "The government that interferes with my walk, what's your zodiac sign!?"

7. "Sweetie, how can you spend your life with just one man?"

Of course, this is just the cheerful side of the story. On the other hand, the Turkish police are using uncontrolled force on the people during the protests while claiming they were attacked. I also saw a video in which the GD of Police in Istanbul was angrily questioning some of the police officers during the riots. He was asking who gave the order to fire at the protestors, and the officers replied, "we moved without an order." I'll tag the source when I find it again.

Nonostante le inchieste abbiano dimostrato che la ricostruzione dei fatti proposta dalla vittima fosse vera e sebbene una perizia ospedaliera abbia confermato i segni compatibili con un rapporto non consensuale, l’accusa di stupro contro Leonardo La Russa e Tommaso Gilardoni è stata archiviata, a dimostrazione di quanto poco contino il corpo e la parola di una donna in tribunale.

Le indagini hanno persino confermato la presenza di Ghb nei capelli della vittima, sostanza nota come “droga dello stupro”, ma questa evidenza è stata minimizzata fino ad essere liquidata come produzione fisiologica. La ragazza era, secondo tutte le testimonianze, in stato di alterazione psicofisica evidente, ma il fatto che non si sia opposta esplicitamente è stato usato come alibi, ignorando che il consenso non può esistere in assenza di lucidità.

È inaccettabile che la giustizia possa archiviare un caso del genere quando il principio fondamentale dovrebbe essere che senza un “sì” esplicito, è semplicemente un “no”. Oltretutto vi è stata la diffusione non consensuale di un video intimo: un caso di revenge porn che ha aggravato ulteriormente la violenza subita e l’umiliazione pubblica (unica accusa a restare in piedi).

La scelta di archiviare nonostante la gravità dei fatti – la violenza, lo stato di incoscienza, il video condiviso – è un atto di sistemica protezione del potere.

In una società realmente civile l’accertamento del consenso dovrebbe essere la base di ogni giudizio: qui è stato ignorato, come se bastasse l’inerzia di un corpo per assolvere chi lo usa. Archiviare questo caso non è solo un insulto alla vittima, è un messaggio pericoloso per tutte le donne: la tua verità conta o meno in base a chi è il tuo aggressore.
