actually frothing at the mouth over these dumb lawyer games (inktober day 11: snack, day 12: remote)
ok ok ok so recently i've been playing through the ace attorney games (i haven't started three yet but i remember most of the plot bc of the anime) and for some reason i wanted to take a shot at what an "accurate" no DL-6 AU would look like! I just think it's interesting to see what might've actually happened if DL-6 never happened bc DL-6 is kinda the major butterfly effect in the AA world. Idk if i wanna make this an actual AU or just a ramble on how the series would be completely different without DL-6 lmao. We'll see! Maybe you guys decide :D anyway MAJOR AA TRILOGY SPOILERS AHEAD
I'll start with the characters. Gregory Edgeworth would still be alive, Miles would become a defense attorney & work with his father at his law firm. Phoenix would most likely pursue his artist career. Narumitsu/Wrightworth tbh would still happen bc they need to be canon PLEASE CAPCOM. Just that there would be no rivalry.
Anyway the Dahlia case would've been so different but also kinda the same without DL-6. It was because of DL-6 that Misty Fey left Kurain Village and Mia also left to become a defense attorney. Without Mia, it would've most likely only been Diego Armando taking on the first Dahlia case with Terry Fawles. Fawles would probably still commit suicide, and I believe Diego still would've investigated Dahlia further & gotten poisoned by her, but without Mia becoming a defense attorney & being killed by Redd White in 1-2, Diego would've never had a reason to become Godot so he probably would've stayed as a defense attorney. Furthermore, without Mia it most likely would've been Miles taking Phoenix as a client in 3-1 bc childhood friends never losing touch bc no DL-6 (you get the point lmfao).
Like, I think about maybe half the cases in the original trilogy would've NEVER happened if DL-6 never happened bc we would've never met Mia or Maya or Pearl, Yanni Yogi wouldn't need to take out his revenge, Von Karma wouldn't have been arrested, Franziska would've never wanted revenge so she most likely would've never come to Japanifornia, I think the only person that would never change is fucking LARRY and that's honestly the craziest part LMAO.
agh i'm getting kinda tired bc it's late so i'll probably finish this ramble tomorrow. there's so much I wanna talk about but my mind is going at like 1000 mph so I need to get my thoughts together lmfao
TLDR: DL-6 is the butterfly effect for the entire ace attorney world & many of the characters we know and love wouldn't even exist/be introduced if it weren't for it.

I hate the animefication of the characters post aa4. The whitewashing (giving phoenix and Maya blue eyes) is so fucked up but also the characters are generally less Round and more Pointy and it sucks so bad. Aa6 phoenix looks WEIRD to me who is that guy. The official art for the trilogy is so warm and nice and silly in comparison. Just wanted to say this thanks.

AU idea: when a Fey woman dies of unnatural causes, she can return to life by sacrificing her spiritual power. She wakes up healthy and whole, but normal.
Possibilities include:
Mia or Misty thought they were okay with turning away from their spirit medium heritage, until they wake up unmurdered and realize that they actually can't go back now. (They could even discuss the matter after they both survive!)
Maya could survive the 2-4 Bad Ending, or survive 3-5 in a painfully ironic way
Dahlia and Iris don't have spiritual power because they used it to survive a childhood illness or something
Morgan is sentenced to execution but it just ... doesn't stick. Law enforcement is baffled. She claims she can do it again (she cannot, she's just trolling as many men as possible before she dies)
Mia went to college and Immediately started struggling. Because while the Fey's had educated her a great deal they were happy to neglect anything that didn't fit there bubble of a world. She asked what world war two was and got Screamed at for being a ww2 denier, because who Hasn't heard of it?
She spends Hours on top of her already overwhelming schoolwork studying all the 'basics' they never taught. (Or blatantly taught wrong) she goes to a party with lots of alcohol and a room thick with weed smoke and one guy puffing out rings like he's motherfucking Gandalf (a reference she does not yet understand) says "you were in a cult man."
She was in a cult.
Mia gifts Maya some accurate history and science books. Maya, who wants her sisters approval and attention SO bad devouring them and relaying everything she's learned. It makes her feel so nice that Mia calls her every week and pays such close attention- asks questions and clarifications and everything! - despite how busy she is.
Meanwhile Mia's taking desperate notes to Maya's impromptu lectures because she will NOT be seen as a uninformed hick again. She's Mia fucking Fey goddamn it.
edgeworth is so so so concerned about maya in bridge to the turnabout i REFUSE to believe they a) are not already friends or b) don't become fast friends after the case is dealt with. like he's sooo worried for her!!! he keeps going "(will she be alright in this cold...?)" and "(please be alright, maya...)" and "i wonder if maya is alright?" and "(in any case, i just hope maya is alright...)" like come ONNNNN

I swear if there’s a AA/GT crossover game/movie and Sissel doesn’t interact with Mia Fey then…I just don’t know.
Maybe I should have drawn Pearl instead of Maya, but Maya is such an adorable space-case and I love her to bits.
A lifetime supply of miso ramen/burgers was another option.

It’s taken a long while, but it’s finally done! Special interests have collided to bring you: Phoniex Wright: Ace-A-Pony! Time lines are all over the place but ah well! Keep reading for some random headcanons in no particular order! (spoilers for the whole series!)
- Phoniex doesn’t really like flying, as he’s severely acrophobic. Amazingly, he did not break his wings when falling from the bridge, but he has chronic pain in his back and both wings as a result. Even more of a reason not to fly
- Kristoph poses as a blank flank, but an actuality possesses a rather grim cutie mark. He hides it with a concealment spell. However, the truth is revealed by Apollo in the last case of AA4. He is proud of his traditional unicorn heritage. His motives for his crimes are uncertain, with some theorising a desire for greater magical power, or even alicorn ascension. But who knows, maybe he did it for fun.
- General MLP headcanon - all ponies have hearts on the bottom of hooves. Kristoph has a broken heart on his front left hoof
- The Phantom is changeling, and kidnapped the real Fullbright. The true Bobby is eventually rescued after the events of AA5 and tries to recover from his ordeal
- Nahyuta is an alicorn, but was originally a pegasus. He was always planned to ascend to Alicorn status, but the process was done early than originally planned following the actions of his father. It was basically a desperate plea to seperate him further from his father’s image and closer to the Sigatar family
- The Fey Clan are mostly earth ponies, but all the most powerful of them are unicorns. Pearl is the first unicorn born in many generations - one of the reasons why her mother does what she can to get her to the top.
- The Gramaryes are a proud family of traditional unicorns, and are powerful magic users. Apollo is an earth pony like his father, but still posses quite powerful magic
- The Von Karmas are a proud line of pegasi that look down on unicorns and earth ponies. Its rumoured that Manfred wished for alicorn ascension, but no one knows. What was known was that the family hated Edgeworth and his traditional unicorn heritage
- Edgeworth struggles with his identity and heritage. Due to being brought up by pegasi, he knows very little about magical practice, and what he does comes exclusively from studying
- General couple stuff now! Edgeworth and Phoniex are married. Apollo and Klavier are dating long distance with Apollo working in Khura’in. Franziska and Maya are engaged. Athena and Junie are dating.
- Blackquill and Bobby’s relationship is.. complicated. Blackquill and the Phantom were in a relationship of some kind, but after he is unmasked and the original Fullbright is found, Blackquill has a bit of a fucking breakdown fkdjhfkjdh. He and Nahyuta see each other for a while but that doesn’t work out. Him and the real Bobby are helping each other come to terms with what the Phantom did to them

what if this happened in the next ace attorney game…think about it capcpom
I know there’s not much they could have done. But still… don’t just leave him there. I was so mad that they just left the poor man there
