I actually didn't plan for it to be monochromatic (i just wanted a pink underpainting) but i rolled with it and it came out pretty fun!

It's more intimate and dreamy that way...?

I finally used my scanner, woo!

Kim melting over flowers once again, now in watercolors! It was a part of a little comic you can find here. I wanted to practice with watercolors some more and this looked like a good excuse to do that :>

Every time I walk by my roommate playing Disco Elysium I see this creature roaming the wet streets, soaked with tears and woes.

I realized after i made this, that these are colors of police siren.... I mean... it's fitting... Still a little weird to think that they have this in the back while doing this though xD

at first i didn’t understand how jean vicquemare is only 34 and then i drew him without his goatee and all was clear

I just wanted to draw some expressions and this came out. Can't say that I'm mad about it.

I love the idea that Kim actually likes flowers, so here you go.

Look at the boys running solving crimes and totally not doing anything else.

I wanna take a moment to appreciate Kim’s way of caring.

I know it seems a bit cold of him to tell Harry to focus on work and get his personal affairs in order, but he mentions that focusing on work helps him when he’s feeling down or anxious. This is classic autistic empathy. He doesn’t know what’s going to work for you, but he knows what works for him, so he offers that.

He doesn’t judge you too harshly for being an addict and even sympathizes that the hangover you’re nursing won’t help with the corpse smell. He doesn’t tell you to suck it up here, he doesn’t rub it in your face that it’s your fault the body smells like it does. It is what it is and what is done has been done.

He knows how to spot and deal with a panic attack. He uses grounding techniques when you spiral, giving you water and touching you gently.

I truly believe Kim is a high empathy autistic and that might be a factor into his ptsd surrounding children. He doesn’t know how to show this empathy and has probably taught himself to repress it for his own safety. This makes him seem a lot colder than he actually is. But when he slips up, like during the tribunal, god does it show.

I just wanted to draw some fun expressions and did this situation from memory :> An absolute joy to make them emote so much!

I imagine Harry is always so dramatic with his face and we just don't see it as we play.

i was always bothered by the lack of like official concept art for kim kitsuragi that's available. there's like, three total pictures? which made no sense to me given how he's a main character, he's there with you for most of the game, how can this be all of it. where's the early iterations. alternate designs. turns out it's because they apparently drew him once and were like "oh this is perfect. we can't improve on this. we nailed it" and just moved on

i once joked that given how little insight there is into his creation and how little concept art there was of him, he probably just appeared fully formed in the game one day. apparently i wasn't far off. his portrait is literally from pre-production just with colours slapped on it. "a slam dunk from the get-go". character of all fucking time
