OH MY GOD YES YES YES!!!!
DC/Marvel Peter Parker in Gotham AU where Dick Grayson is Peter's bio dad, and Jason is Uncle Ben.
Peter finds himself in another world where Ben exists only for him to be dead here too. Peter is lost, alone in a world he knows nothing about and has no one to talk to. Even if he starts making friends he can't tell them the truth about being from another universe. And yeah his bio parents exist here, but what is he supposed to tell them? He would just sound crazy, better to avoid them.
But he needs to talk to someone, so Jason's grave becomes a place where he can vent and reminisce.

I love the difference between a Batman identity reveal and a Spider-Man identity reveal.
With Batman itās an actual dramatic āno way!ā moment, because thatās Bruce Wayne! Famous billionaire playboy whoās also⦠the Batman? The Dark Knight of Gotham? And suddenly Bruce is ruined because heās not the Batman, now heās Bruce Wayne, playing the Batman, and he loses all That (tm). He loses both identities, he canāt be Batman in the same way, and he loses Brucie Wayne. The reveal is dramatic and impactful and shocking to many.
But if Spideyās identity is revealed⦠itās a āuh whoās this kid?ā at best, and a āPeter Parker? That kid I kinda know?ā at worst, like yes, there are the consequences of loved ones in danger, possibly a lack of respect for Spidey, but he didnāt have much respect to begin with, and his family and friends dies left and right either way. Whatās fun about a Spider-Man reveal, is that āoh. Iāve been fighting my hardest⦠against some 15 year old? And I havenāt even won? What the hell?ā And if a villain reveals Spideyās identity but the doesnāt know Peter Parker, thatās all they get. The knowledge a (somewhat) normal kid is the Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man. If anything, itās more difficult for the villain, who might have mixed feelings on fighting a child. The reveal is personal and could be nothing depending on circumstances.
the trend of shrinking hans capon into a submissive, feminized ātwinkā is so regressive and creatively lazy.Ā
the idea that hansā theatrics or needing rescue in-game automatically code him as a ābottomā is a stereotype literally rooted in misogyny. since when do drama, sass, or vulnerabilityātraits routinely gendered as āfeminineāāequate to sexual submission?Ā
this is a really reductive take. it weaponizes patriarchal baggage to pigeonhole queer dynamics: softness = weakness, flair = passivity. itās the same toxic logic that paints flamboyant men as punchlines or prey in mainstream media.Ā
caponās theatrics arenāt a surrender of power. theyāre tools of a cunning nobleman. queer history shows us that femmes and flamboyant individuals have always been leaders, provocateurs, and survivorsānot passive accessories. reducing capon to a ābottomā because heās extra not only severely misreads his character, but regurgitates the old and tired lens that equates femininity with inferiority.Ā
fans can argue itās āfictionā and āpreferenceā and āharmless funā, but when these stereotypes dominate, they reduce gay men to hollow fantasies for straight and heteronormative audiences instead of fully realized people. personal preferences in fiction arenāt inherently harmful, but when entire communities default to flattening queer characters into hetero-adjacent roles⦠it reinforces the idea that same-sex relationships must mimic heteronormativity to be legible.
let characters be messy, loud, and authoritative without straitjacketing them into roles that confuse personality with sexual position.
