Charles, once again, sitting wherever he pleases in the cool down room. Girl is living proof of pretty privilege, max would have not let that shit slide if it were someone else đđđ
How different would roar of fire be if it was omegaverse, especially with true mates added in?
iâm obsessed with this, thank you for this intrigue.
things would have played out a lot differently.
(I got way too into this and wrote 1k outline/ficlet thing. So sorry! Some dark elements but it's much tamer than my main story. More under the cut.)
Max and Charles would still be childhood frenemies, but I think a potential match would have been on everyoneâs mind much sooner.
I see a much more obvious possessiveness in their interactions. They were vicious with each other, but extremely clingy. Max would growl and snap his teeth if others even touched Charles. Charles would hiss at anyone who seemed too interested in Max. They took every opportunity possible to chase and tussle with each other, even if they would almost immediately get yanked apart and Max would be punished for being too rough with an omega.
When they got older, Max started embracing their roles and harassing Charles more pointedly, calling him âmy omegaâ, which absolutely infuriated Charles, much to Maxâs delight.
Itâs around this time they started to catch each otherâs scent even though it was pre-presentation, which was a significant indicator they were true mates. Max got extra aggressive with Charles during this period, trying to corner him at every festival and banquet as often as possible so that he could scent him, and as much as Charles snarled and hissed at him, all his attempts to escape were always half-hearted at best.
Max would have whipped if they were ever caught, but that did nothing to deter them.
It was during one of these instances, when Max had Charles trapped between his arms, pinned up against the wall, his nose pressed right up against his scent gland, that Max finally put words to it.
âYou know Iâm going to mate you some day, little mouse.â
And for Charles, who had his own face tucked into Maxâs neck to take in deep lungfuls of his scent, the words were like ice water down his back. He scrambled away, spitting âI would rather die.â
As usual, Max only laughed at him.
Three months after Max presents, there is an Easter festival both attend. As soon as Charles sees Max as an alpha, his own presentation is triggered and he goes into heat. They catch each otherâs mature scents, and imprint on each other, confirming what everyone had suspected- they were true mates.
Charles is sequestered into the designated heat ward of the castle theyâre visiting, sobbing for three days straight- crying about much he needed Max and how much he hated Max in near equal measures.
Max is sent home early after the third time heâs caught trying to break into the heat ward.
Throughout all this, their parents wearily begin engagement negotiations. The House of Leclerc, backed by the current Ferrari King, manage to convince Jos to delay the wedding/mating until the two are of a more appropriate age for marriage (late teens) and to allow them to have a long courtship/betrothal.
So for the next few years they court, and it goes about as well as expected. They only see each other a few times a year, but each time is an event. Charles pleads with his parents to break off the engagement, while also counting down the days until he will next see his betrothed. Max writes letter after letter to Charles, despite nearly all of them going unanswered (Charles saves every single one.) Both of them sleep with scented items from the other, and are practically inconsolable when the scent fades and they have to wait for a new one to replace it with.
After a handful of instances, it becomes abundantly clear that there needs to be a small army of chaperones every time they do meet in person, both to keep Max from bodily harm and to preserve Charlesâ virtue. The omega also needs to have his chambers guarded as he sleeps, because Max never breaks the habit of trying to sneak in to see him.
Max wins most tournament events he enters, and he dedicates every single victory to his omega, proudly wearing the favor he bullied Charles into giving to him. And while Charles always scowls as he accepts the flower wreath for Queen of Love and Beauty, his mother, governess, or brothers often hiss at him to try to control himself, as his scent never fails to go thick and intoxicating any time he watches his alpha show off his prowess.
Everyone is relieved when the wedding finally arrives.
Itâs a big affair, with countless kingdoms in attendance to witness the union of the legendary fated pair that has already inspired countless songs.
And the two do not disappoint.
They miss their own wedding feast because Max loses control and bites Charles as soon as theyâve left the chapel. They promptly go feral, and are shut away.
When they emerge (days later) theyâre both fascinated and perturbed by their full bond.
The early days of marriage are intense.
Charles is homesick and disturbed by his close proximity to the volatile King Jos.
Despite how much they still bicker, Max becomes something of a rocky refuge for him, because at least he's familiar, at least Charles knows what he wants. They spend a great deal of time together, fighting and fucking and learning each other.
The thing Charles finds most surprising is how accommodating, even eager, Max is to cater to Charles interests that are seen as inappropriate for an omega- namely sword fighting and riding. Their competitive streaks make these activities vicious to engage in, but it gives them a deep satisfaction.
And then, in just the first two months, Charles becomes pregnant and there are whole new challenges. Terrified of motherhood, Charles tries to push Max away, but, furiously, he doesnât budge, his obsession with Charles extending to their pup.
They grow closer and closer, with true affection and love blooming during the pregnancy and after the birth of their heir.
Shockingly, Charles is the first to say it. He suspects that Max puts their second pup in him that same night.
I think they would have a few kids in quick succession, due to how fertile true mates are. Parenthood poses some massive challenges, but it also unites them, showing them what an effective team they are. It also strengthens their standing in the kingdom.
Jos becomes more unstable. Max takes on more and more leadership duties, which means Charles also gets a taste of more power. His husband is very susceptible to any suggestions Charles whispers in his ear, especially when he pairs it with a tongue on his scent gland.
Itâs during this time, in the privacy of their nest in Maxâs chambers, that their pillow talk turns to plotting. It shouldnât be a surprise to them that their ambition and hunger are perfect matches.
Jos dies in a suspicious accident, and Max assumes the throne, crowning Charles his queen. Then, things go quiet.
The Kingdom of Red Bull keeps a low profile for a few years, and everyone suspects the young king and queen are overwhelmed with their new duties. Some even begin to wonder if it would be an opportune time to attack the territory.
Which is about the time Max and Charles show their hand.
The years actually hadnât been quiet at all, in that time they had built a fearsome army and secured all things necessary to launch a war of conquest.
When Max rides into battle, forgoing customs and traditions, Charles is at his side.
Kingdoms cower at their combined ruthlessness as they set out to create an empire for their children.
back to discuss our 171619th proof of omegalerc for the day: the way his pheromones have people acting in public
wdym the lestappen lore begins with charles (CHARLES!) being so mad at losing a karting race that he finishes second, then proceeds to drive 15 year old max verstappen into a puddle full of mud in val dâargenton.
you mean to say that teenaged charles was so resentful about losing that he did something so utterly unsportsmanlike (but pettily hilarious) to spite his rivalâŚafter the race was already finished.
that max, who was told he could never lose, who was taught to anticipate everything his competitors did - was blindsided by the frustration of a boy who wanted first place just as much as he did.
youâre telling me that they raced side by side as hungry, focused young people; wheel to wheel to the finish line with nothing but their skill, the karts their families gave them, and raw ambition. that this is a core memory for them and the stuff of legend for other racers in their peer group.
then youâre telling me that the both of them made the sacrifices. raced even harder. that other people noticed and named one mad max, the other il predestinato.
you tell me that they made it to the top level of f1 - a statistical improbability, literally two of thousands and thousands who tried - and are now two of the top drivers in the entire world.
and now, they sit in front of dozens of media, millions of fans, decibels of deafening noise â and they laugh and joke about this over a decade later.
so you can try to iron out the creases, PR train the champions, teach the athletes to guard their words. you can hone both men into carefully gleaming icons.
but in their heart of hearts, they are just this: two boys, determined to get to the finish line by passing each other first.
this is my roman empire actually.
"AS I SAID TO MAX" please we get it you yapped to him he loves you
Watching this I remembered that one time max was recording and he was so focused on charles
capturing each other one race at a time đ
Bryan really does have to deal with a very feral omega and he just takes it and says "thank you" and "good job" even when Charles says "fuck this entire operation I am gonna kill him for real this time"
max CALM DOWN
Charles is having Max's baby, but it's none of Max's business. đ¤ˇââď¸
