My deepest apologies for my followers that followed me for other stuff like bat family or hell-verse content and all I talk about is dbd now.
(This show is so good just give it a chance).
So now that Gwen Poole is out as aroace people are asking if it's still okay to ship Gwen and Quentin Quire since they already root for them because of west coast avengers.
For those of you who doesn't know, yes Gwenpool is now canonically aroace, We discovered it in Marvel Voices: Pride 2023 and in Love unlimited Gwenpool part 5 where she talks more about her identity.
Gwenpool wearing the aroace flag in marvel voices pride^
Gwen in her love unlimited series ^
And I just want to address one thing-
It's okay to ship Gwen with Quentin, as long you understand Gwen was never really interested in him.
From the beginning Gwen Said she picked him as her love interest because she thought she has a better chances of survival if she had a love interest.
If you ship them you need to understand - while Quentin may have actually loved her, it was more of an one sided love.
It's okay to ship them if you understand that Gwen didn't have real feelings for him and just used him.
It's not so crazy, I'm aroace myself and when I was young I faked crushes on boys because I thought that's what I'm supposed to do.
Especially for ADHD people there's a common phenomenon because we can get really excited meeting new people so it's hard for us to separate between romantic and platonic feeling.
Gwen talks about her feelings to Julia the feeling she thought were romantic at first but turned out she just really like her in another and she discovered she didn't really wanted a romantic relationship with her like she thought at first.
I loved Gwen and Quentin myself and I thought they were funny and dynamic, I just want to make things clear that while you can still ship them, she's only faking her feelings and using him as a tool,
If you still want to ship them under this terms it's fine, they can still have funny and interesting dynamic, but don't ship Gwen romantically because that's just an insult to the aroace community.
And happy soon pride month šš³ļøāš
Charles Rowland and Edwin Payne are so real, I too would've avoided understanding my sexuality or confronting with my trauma for decades.
This is a low shot, but can someone beta my dead boy detectives fic? (Painland fic, it was supposed to be focused on Charles but I also drifted a bit with Edwin's pov on him)
My beta coincidentally can't right now for reason I'm very much amused by, I just really want to post the fic sometimes during tomorrow (the day starts soon in my country) *on my birthday*(!!!!) so I want to finish it fast.
It's not finished right now but it's mostly done and I will love to get some advices, I'll finish it first thing tomorrow probably if I can.
Edit: it's just with 3,951 words now, after I'll finish though it will probably be a few hundreds passed 5,000 so there is that too. It's not an extremely long fic, it's a relatively short one really.
Edit 2/ Update: posted a snippet!
Being in the Hell-verse fandom is like
Oh why is this character my favourite?
It's because we have similar trauma and I relate to that character deeply I feel so much pain and emotions through them they describe my trauma perfectly.
And why is this other character also in my top favourite characters?
Because they're a cool ass bad bitch, I like them.
āEdwin fell firstā this, āCharles fell harderā that try and convince me that Charles didnāt fall in love with Edwin the second he walked into that attic. Tell me that he didnāt attribute the fluttering in his heart to the chill of hypothermia seeping into his bones. Tell me that Charles loving Edwin hasnāt been second nature since the moment they met, which is why he never recognised it. Tell me that he didnāt push down the feeling due to years of internalised homophobia.
Tell me that Edwin didnāt fall harder. He suddenly realised that it was possible to like a boy and love fell on him like a tidal wave, heavy and immobilising. Whereas Charlesā love was like a gentle stream that slowly became more and more intense over the years, Edwinās was like a waterfall that suddenly went from 0 to 100.
I've talked about DC's ridiculous whitewashing before, that they turned a character brown just so they won't have to admit the first character is brown (Helena Bertinelli and Selina Kyle/Helena Wayne).
But this case is seriously one of the most ridiculous thing I've seen related to whitewashing.
The whitewashing of Poison Ivy.
She is GREEN.
She is frickin green, why color her in a human skin tone?
Just let her be green! Why white?
Honestly the green suits her so much more.
I love her current series, but why she's white? Why can't artists let her be green?
Also there's Gar/ Beast Boy in his Graphic novel "Teen Titans: Beast Boy"
I haven't seen any real explanation why the artist Gabriel Piccolo gave him a human skin tone.
He's not really white so at least there's that, he's of African decent so at least he got to have some melanin, but I just find it strange.
I understand it's hard to blend in when you're green? And it's about him being a teen. But it still counts as an example of DC erasing green skin tone from character.
Just why?
This type of white washing or human-skin-tone-washing is just so funny to me.
Just let characters be green! Why white? Why human? Huge part of them are based on the fact they are not humans.
I haven't seen any explanation to this phenomenon, if anyone can give me any insights on this subject I'm open to learn.
I don't think there's a real explanation.
bitch this is all youāre gonna get. this life, this face, this body. you better not āmaybe in another universeā your way out of everything. sit your ass down and face this. go make tea and have a picnic and read a goddamn book. kiss your loved ones, send that damn text, and hug your siblings. this is all youāre gonna get.
In the spirit of this holiday (it's Passover rn) I have a question for queer people of different cultures/ religions/ groups around the world.
Do your culture/ religion have specific traditions/ customs for LGBTQ people?
There's a relatively new Jewish tradition in Passover of including an orange on the Sedder plate to represent and support LGBTQ people.
It got me thinking if other cultures have things like that as well.
Do you have any specific traditions/ slangs/ symbols in your culture to represent queer people?
I couldn't find enough information online so I would love to hear from you about your diffrent cultures!
You're welcome to leave a comment here/ reblog/ leave a message in the asks box anyway is fine! Even just sending a link to an article would be appreciated.
This is my official request for Dead Boy Detectives prompts!
Preferably about Edwin and Charles. Especially more about Charles but not necessarily.
I just finished my fanfic and I'm desperate for new ideas, I want to keep writing about them.
Comments, ask box, and dm, are all open.
Any prompt would be appreciatedš«¶
