Classpect Tests
There are many Hero Title tests available, but the two I like best are thepageofhopes' and inaniloquacity's. Both of them use tests from widely accepted psychology theories as a basis.
While both tests are not without their flaws, they provide a good starting point for determining a Hero Title.
Information
My Classes Chart and Aspect Keywords posts provide a simplified overview of the classes and aspects.
InfinityWhale has an amazing Ultimate Classpect Post describing each aspect and each class in detail.
Dahni has in-depth descriptions of ALL 144 (standard) HERO TITLES! An excellent resource for understanding each mythological role.
Space and Time
Light and Void
Hope and Rage
Heart and Mind
Breath and Blood
Life and Doom
Dahni also describes the tendencies and challenges of each class separately (search her Class tag for detailed information).
BladekindEyewear has a lot of information on classes and aspects, particularly related to duality and inversion. He's basically a father of Classpect Theory, as InfinityWhale, Anna, Dahni, and many others (myself included) base their works on his class- and aspect-related theories.
I realized something that not only connects Maids and Sylphs, but strongly supports BOTH being Healer classes, as well:
Each Maid and Sylph has died and revived in a non-standard way, AND each revival involved her aspect.
Maid: Heals, creates, and (re)generates (with/through) {aspect}. Sylph: Invites healing, creation, and (re)generation of/with/through {aspect}.
Aradia, Maid of Time
Was dead before her session started. First, she came back by prototyping herself, then by becoming a robot. She eventually revived for real, reaching god tier when her comatose dream self died on her Quest Crypt as Bec Noir destroyed Derse’s moon. Aradiabot exploded as a result.
Her revival involved destruction of Derse's moon and her robot self, being at the right place at the right time, and occurred after the end of their session.
Healing via Time (destruction, timing, endings).
Kanaya, Sylph of Space
Was murdered by Eridan via Hope-blast through the torso. Since her dream self was dead, she couldn’t be revived with a kiss. Unexpectedly, she returned to life, transformed as a Rainbow Drinker.
Her revival involved transformation and came about after space was put through the middle of her torso (physical body).
Inviting healing of Space (physicality) and through Space (transformation).
Jane, Maid of Life
Her dream self was murdered by Jack Noir, “did a lifey thing,” and revived.
Her revival involved the restoration of her life force. Later, this would prove essential for reviving her when her real-self died.
Healing via Life (life force, energy).
Aranea, Sylph of Light
Died along with the rest of the Alpha Trolls as Meenah killed their team before the scratch wiped them from existence. Deciding she wanted to be important and relevant by creating and overseeing a new alpha timeline that prevented the existence of Lord English, Aranea orchestrated events and psychically manipulated others to eventually obtain the Ring of Life. She revived when she placed the Ring on her finger.
Her revival involved manipulating others’ agency, making herself relevant and important, and creating a doomed timeline that she would then heal as the alpha (the most important timeline).
Inviting healing through Light (agency, relevance, importance).
Porrim, Maid of Space
Uh, okay, not much is known about her, and she's not particularly relevant. So...yeah. I guess ignore her. She is both a Rainbow Drinker (troll vampire) and a Healer class Space player, though, like Kanaya, so that might be worth noting.

Thanks, everyone, for your support for the past year and a half! It’s been a wild ride!
At this point, I’m not sure what the fate of this blog will be. I’m still disillusioned by Homestuck’s finale, although I realize an epilogue is in the works. I might do some character analyses, non-predictive theory posts, classpect stuff, or other posts, but we’ll see. I do still have some asks I need to answer. (Thanks for your patience on those.) I’m considering adding in some non-Homestuck content, perhaps applying classpect analyses to characters from other works, to keep it tied to HS.
At some point, I intend to read Problem Sleuth. (I know, I know, I’m behind. XP ) Maybe I could comment on that and sort of... pseudo-live blog as I go? I’d also like to re-read Homestuck now that it’s “finished”, and see if I can glean anything new. (Plus I want to make note of what’s been left unresolved.)
What would you guys like me to do? What content are you interested in seeing on this blog?
I realize I haven't posted anything in quite a while, and I apologize. I haven't been as active on Tumblr lately, but I'm still around.
I have some upcoming ideas and theories that slowly have been coalescing. Some projects include a Class wheel (and theories expanding upon it), MBTI personality and/or psychological disorders of the various Homestuck characters, and ideas relating to a third Scratch. And of course I have other post ideas, as well. No ETA on any of these, though.
I also have a few asks in my inbox I've been meaning to answer. I haven't forgotten, and I intend to respond to them.
On another note, I've delved into Steven Universe and Undertale. Now, this blog's primary focus is Homestuck, but considering how much the fandoms overlap, I'm considering including posts related SU and UT, too. Making separate blogs is another possibility, although it kind of sounds like a pain. I haven't decided anything yet, though.
Feel free to shoot me any questions or thoughts.
Thanks, everyone, for your support and patience. :)
The song “Eternity, Served Cold” plays in both [S] Caliborn: Enter and [S] Collide. There is some overlap, but the first half of the song plays in the former, and the second half in Collide.
[S] Caliborn: Enter ends here:
And in [S] Collide, when the rest of the song begins to play, it starts here:
This has to be intentional and significant.
Here's a chart of all the classes, both Standard and Master.
My goal was to define, describe, and categorize them as efficiently and accurately as possible, based on my understanding of the classes. I based as much as I could on canon information, while inferring the rest.
(For clarity, "–" denotes Active, and "+" denotes Passive.)
(Note: If chart looks distorted/shrunken, right-click and View Image.)
Special thanks to bladekindeyewear, dahniwitchoflight, infinitywhale and probably others for their insight and information, helping me understand the classes and aspects. I couldn't have made this chart without them.
Some clarification: I am aware Hussie essentially said any gender can have any class (i.e. female Princes). I don’t like the idea of gendered classes, anyway, and I think it’s needlessly restrictive, not to mention sexist and stereotyping.
However, my chart reflects what’s been depicted in comic, based on what Calliope states, looking at the characters’ classes and gender distribution, and then making some inferences based on Hussie’s penchant for balance and based on class names and god tier outfit designs.
I’ve been mulling over the Prospit/Derse dreamer distinction and I think it primarily boils down to this:
Prospit dreamers instinctively embrace their calling and their role.
Derse dreamers instinctively resist their calling and role.
What exactly that means and how it manifests itself varies from person to person. (And Space and Time players might be an exception, possibly defaulting to Prospit and Derse, respectively.)
But the distinction makes sense thematically, considering how Prospit and Derse seem to operate.
This update explains why it required so many genetic codes to create Doc Scratch:
“t1CK t0ck 8r8k H34DS honk HONK”
Six codes, six genetic components! Lil Cal + Caliborn + Gamzee + Equius + Lil Hal + Magic Cue Ball.
As opposed to Bec, who was made from one code (MEOW) and one genetic component (Halley).
Yes, Terezi regrets killing her, but more significantly, she realizes she was cornered into that choice and wonders, had she been thinking clearly and known all the facts, had any thoughts or circumstances changed, would there have been more options? Would killing Vriska be the only way to stop her?

IF YOU HADN'T KILLED HER, YOU WOULD HAVE WITHERED AWAY IN A DOOMED TIMELINE.
Maybe, in the end, these retcons reinforce to Terezi that indeed, killing Vriska is the only viable option, and she makes that decision with a clear mind and of her own accord—not one limited by Rage. By knowing Vriska is responsible for Tavros' death and not all the others, as well as no longer viewing their confrontation as a JUST1C3 role-playing game of sorts, Terezi will no longer have lingering doubts and regrets, and instead embrace her role as a Seer of Mind.
If the retcons are geared toward this intent, they wouldn't so much undo events as undo Terezi's outlook and attitude—her depression, self-hatred, and rejection of her role. Really, only events post-Cascade and events revolving around Terezi would change. And there weren't even that many of those during the meteor trip.
But here's the main reason nothing significant will change pre-Cascade: Doc Scratch's narration.
The Seer of Mind had challenged the Thief of Light to a simple game of chance. If the result was the undamaged side, the Thief would agree to stay. If not, she would "go." [...] The actual result was trivial; it was a constant across all timelines. [...] The Thief used her abilities to steal the fortune of her opponent, and forced the flip to yield what she regarded as the most favorable outcome. The Seer anticipated this move, correctly.
I've never much enjoyed navigating the vortices of alternative possibility. The path which alone has my absolute mastery is the alpha timeline, a continuum I define as that which boasts exclusive rights both to my birth and to my death, two circumstantially simultaneous events. Any divergence from this path to my knowing will taper into blackness like rotting roots.
(Bold emphasis mine.)
Why is this information significant? The Alpha Timeline seems to have already taken John's retcons into consideration. So far, all events as known from Caliborn's perspective, like John dying in an explosion and his "ghost" returning periodically to haunt him, seem to be accurate post-retcon information. (Of course, this is also assuming the Jade and Jane hanging out with Calliope are from the same and Alpha timeline.)
If retcons don't change or contradict Caliborn's knowledge, I would think this concept would extend to Doc Scratch, as well, considering his omniscience and influence. Undoing Vriska's death would dramatically change his story.
Not to mention, it would change this:
But it is the desecration of a priceless timepiece where I must draw the line. I'm afraid I must now insist that you take your beating quite personally.
Events that directly affect and influence Doc Scratch, Spades Slick, and the destruction of the universe leading to the creation of the Green Sun.
The one way events could change is if Doc Scratch is playing a rare prank. If that is the case, Terezi doesn't need to kill Vriska, but someone else does in order for the god tier clock-related events to occur. An escaped Gamzee would be the likely culprit.
Regardless, Vriska still has to die Justly, or too many crucial events change.
So two-thirds of LOTAK was destroyed when Jack English’s head exploded and formed a black hole.
Dave, Terezi, and a decapitated Dirk all made it off the planet, thanks to Dave’s Time powers. But you know who almost certainly was still on LOTAK at the time?
Gamzee has not had the opportunity to go back in time and give Lil Cal to Jack to create Jack English in the first place. If Gamzee is dead, this is a paradox.
We’ve recently seen this short promo, aired as usual on Cartoon Network, which shows us Peridot giving Lapis a gift.
We don’t really know what episode the promo was from, but many speculate that it’s from Barn Mates, judging from the synopsis:
We initially thought it was going to be Peridot and one of the Crystal Gems, but the promo suggests otherwise: it’s actually Peridot and Lapis Lazuli.
There’s one problem: as of now, we don’t really know how Lapis is going to get back. Malachite is still there, as far as we know, chilling on the ocean floor or something, with the usual internal battle going on.
One of the other future episodes we know about is Super Watermelon Island. It’s the first in the list, actually, and one of the only three to have a synopsis.
Do you remember what happened to those Watermelon Stevens? They went into the ocean.
This really makes me think that those very same Watermelon Stevens are going to be the key to finding Lapis/Malachite, making them finally plot relevant! (Thank you, Chekhov’s gun.) They could possibly search the ocean floor, or just know where she is. Heck, maybe she’s on “watermelon island” with them.
The following episode (that we know of) is Gem Drill. Obviously, it seems they’re going to deal with the Cluster, but well, there’s one logistic problem: I think drilling a freaking mantle-deep tunnel with just a drill, even made of whatever gemkind technology, is not very feasible. It’d take an impressive amount of power to do something of that sort.
Luckily, we have a character who’s done impressive stuff before. She stole an entire ocean and built a water tower into freaking space. It’s Lapis Lazuli. She would at the very least be tremendously helpful, for example by helping the drill not overheat (an actual concern for real life drills, where muddy water is used as a coolant).
tl;dr: The Watermelon Stevens are going to be the key to Lapis Lazuli’s return, and she’ll be crucial to drill to the Cluster.
