as an american, I think that the way that the democratic party approached the crisis in gaza was what made a lot of democrats just not vote. I personally spent a long time trying to explain to my parents that trump would have done the same, if not worse and that I don’t think he’ll do much to stop it. The sad things is that there is a majority republican in the senate and they have the lead for the house of representative so any agenda that trump had will most likely be passed.
This is a problem within the left in many countries, sadly. The Right is a monolith. They’re concrete. They’re conservatives because they never fucking change and they all believe the same thing. The Left is fluid and diverse and are often more concerned with fighting each other while the common enemy is running rampant.
I say this as someone who voted for a minuscule party in my own country’s elections. My friends and family are all leftists and yet we all voted for different parties. But we didn’t have a Trump, or anyone even remotely as authoritarian threatening our rights when we did so. In conclusion:
Some leftist need to hop off their fucking high horse, stop scrunching their noses and pretending nothing is ever good enough for them, and pick the lesser evil, instead of the perfect leftist candidate that only exists in their heads.
Congrats to the third party voters, i hope your high horse has fun galloping through rivers of Trump’s dogshit. At least you can look at yourself in the mirror and I hope it was worth it.
Two years ago on the 28th of February two trains collided on the railway that connects Greece’s biggest cities, resulting in the biggest train accident in European history and in the death of 57 college students who were returning home from the carnival holidays.
The accident was a result of “human error” because the current government and many governments before it have failed to fund the railways and make them automated.
To this day, the state refuses to take any meaningful accountability. If anything, they are trying their best to silence anyone who refuses to move on, including the grieving families.
This was not an accident but an act of state negligence. This was a crime. There is blood on the government’s hands.
57 students either burned alive, got blown up, chopped to pieces, or died from the lack of oxygen and inability to escape the ruins. They got delivered to their parents in bags, or not at all. The train is still not automated but that’s not why I’m writing this.
Last week, audio recordings from when the students tried to call 112 were released to the public. Children actively dying, screaming, begging for air. It goes on for minutes. No help came in time.
There was a protest today almost in every big city and island. More than 40 thousand people marched in Athens. Primarily students.
They’re arresting them. They are breaking photographers’ equipment. They are gassing them. They are gassing students who are mourning their friends, their families, their peers.
This is the kind of country we are. it makes me sick.
And you should know about it.
