After watching the play through of Chapter 4 & seeing the amount of fanart (both canon & OCs), I thought it would be fun to come up with some possible concepts for some OCs.
Might draw them, might not, I’m not sure yet.
Anyway below are the concepts:
Smiling/Nightmare Critter
After the scandal & recall of the Catnap Plushies, Playtime Co tried to create a new character to take Catnap’s place in the Smiling Critters Cast. Wanting to keep the same theme of “a good night’s sleep”, Playtime Co decided to base the design off the concept of “counting sheep”.
The character would be a sheep with white wool & black limbs, & wears a cloud shaped pendant with “Zs” in it or a pillow shaped pendant. They also had a chamomile scent.
They would have been named “Sleepy Sheepy”. However, it never made past the review period due to timing & negative ties to Catnap who both are associated with sleep, & fear that another scandal could occur from this.
This design was then used to create “Baba Chops”: inverted the colors, & changed their personality & along with changing their scent to Anise; who is part of a new line of characters called the Nightmare Critters.
Due to a “special request” from an anonymous source, the concept of Sleepy was altered. The character was changed to be a white lamb wearing a bell shaped pendant, but still kept the chamomile scent.
The character was named “Mary Little” & was used as a limited edition toy to celebrate their 3 year anniversary. They also made a special appearance in the cartoon for the same reason.
Their personality was described to be very curious & a bit naive. They wanted to be friends with everyone & for everyone to feel included. They would’ve act as a peacemaker or negotiator between the Smiling Critters & Nightmare Critters. In the show, they only had one major appearance & would then only appear a couple of times afterwards before the cartoon was discontinued.
Due to them being a limited edition toy, there was only a handful of them produced & was only available during the year 1991. A Bigger Body was never created due to the same reasons above, but there were plans of one if the Catnap Bigger Body became “uncooperative”.
The living toy experiments were also conducted on the plushies as well, but were less in number. After the Hour of Joy, most of the plushies were killed & eaten, with the exception of those that followed Catnap. There was also just one that took refuge in Safe Haven.
Past Employee: Mary Sawyer
Mary was the daughter of Harley Sawyer. Wanting to grow closer to her father, she tried to gain an internship at Playtime Co.
After seeing her potential, Dr. Sawyer put in a request, & pulled some strings, to give her permission to work with him on the living toys experiments & the Bigger Body Initiative.
However, after seeing the experiments & treatment of the toys, Mary was horrified & wanted to leave. But due to fear of being “taken care of”, she continued to work alongside Dr. Sawyer to secretly gather evidence.
During the Hour of Joy, Mary was out doing an “errand” for the other scientists. When she came back, she saw the aftermath & fled immediately.
10 years later, she returns back to Playtime Co to figure out what happened & to see what happened to the toy & BBI experiments.
Mary was the daughter of Harley Sawyer. When she was younger, she was often brought to Playtime Co with her father & was used to test the experiments’ reaction to children.
The toys were quite fond of Mary due to her kind-hearted nature & gentle approach. She was often around the Nightmare Critters, who were very affectionate & friendly towards her after she would give them snacks.
After Dr. Sawyer was turned into the Doctor, Mary was sent to live with other relatives & hasn’t been back to Playing Co since.
She would constantly ask about her father & “friends”, but many of the relatives would just change the subject or say they didn’t know what she was talking about. This caused Mary to doubt her memory & the time she was at Playtime Co.
10 years after the Hour of Joy, Mary would run away from her home & return to Playtime Co to find her father & “friends”. However, she only found a factory filled with starved toys & notes written on vhs tapes.
Past Employee: Samuel Barnes
Samuel was the older brother of Kevin Barnes. They were separated, with Sam going to live with his parents while Kevin was sent to the orphanage due to his “behavior”. He was sent to the orphanage at a very young age, so he doesn’t remember Samuel that well.
His family would deny the existence of Kevin whenever Samuel would ask about him. It wasn’t until he turned 18 when he found out the truth.
Enraged by his parents’ actions & concerned for his brother’s safety, would go to Playtime Co to find him, but was denied access to the orphanage.
After creating a fake identity, Samuel would apply for a job to work at Playtime Co. Mainly to gather information & find Kevin, while also needing a job in general.
However, after being caught multiple times trying to look through classified documents, he was fired & banned from the facility. He was then arrested & imprisoned for trespassing & aggravated assault about a couple days after being fired.
10 years later, it’s unknown if he escaped prison or was released early for good behavior, he went back to Playtime Co for closure. But was met with an empty factory filled with starved toys & eaten corpses.
These are just a few ideas for concept ideas for possible OCs, I would like hear what you guys think, & if you all like them then I might make art of them.
I’m going to be creating front & back views of character designs for what I’ve decided to call this “AU”, Dusttale: Revived.
In these blogs, I’ll show the design concept for a character along with a brief description of their role in the story.
As I stated before, this story is gonna focus more on the NPCs (at least in the first half). So most of these design concepts are gonna be side/background characters from the game (there are gonna be main/boss characters in the story as well).
Now onto the first 2 character designs:
Dr. Robert “Bob” Temmer:
Dr. Temmer is a scientist that works alongside Dr. Serif on testing & experimenting with the revised DT injections & their side effects.
He usually wears a tired & annoyed expression when out in public, but does get a hint of smile when his wife visits him at lunch.
He doesn’t fully agree with Dr. Serif’s way doing things, but doesn’t exactly have a lot of authority or power to fight back. So he just mumbles his complaints & avoids causing trouble.
Mrs. Temantha “Temmie” Temmer:
Temantha, or just Temmie, is the lovely wife & #1 supporter of Dr. Temmer.
They both use to live back in Waterfall in Temmie Village, but after an incident, they moved into the MTT Hotel (which was renovated to act as housing for the remaining survivors).
While many find her annoying & a bit too lovey-dovey with her husband, Temmie is able to make the most sour individual wear the biggest smile.
These are just the basic designs for now. I’ll most likely be creating more detailed character sheets for characters, but I just want to get a basic design concept & backstory done first.

Stragedys is the Overlord over the Playwright industry, specifically as a director and writer, and is part of the Theatre Overlords lead by The Puppeteer.
He grew up on a small farm in Doxato, Greece during the late 19th century. During this time, Greece was poor and close to bankruptcy, however, he was a positive face amongst the townspeople.
He was a hard-worker and always lent out a helping hand to those around him. But as much as he liked working, he found great comfort in the words of stories. After he paid the necessities, he would use whatever he had left to gather stories of all kinds and make his own personal makeshift library. However, as the country grew poorer and his allowance grew less, he started to write his own stories to fulfill his dream.
His uncle, who saw his creativity in his stories, was a shipowner and offered to take him on adventures to help inspire him for his stories. However, during one of these adventures, there was a great storm causing both the uncle and the ship to sink to the bottom of the sea. Stragedys was the sole survivor and constantly blames himself for this tragedy. He stopped writing and drowned himself in work and chores.
Then in the early 1910s, the Balkan Wars erupted. He entered these wars willingly, giving all his energy and releasing all his anger on the opponent’s soldiers. He was fierce but reckless; his family pleaded with him to stop and think, but he ignored them. He survived the 1st Balkan War, but wasn’t so lucky during the 2nd Balkan War.
When charging, he got shot several times before being shot in eye, and eventually bleeding out on the field.
After arriving in Hell, he was immediately greeted by The Puppeteer, who has read his stories and watched his struggle during his past life. The Puppeteer offered him a deal, they would bring back the passion he once had for writing, give him dreams and nightmares to inspire new stories for him to write, the ability to create emotion manifestation plays from these stories, the power to turn any of the souls he owns into natural actors for said plays. However, in exchange, his soul is owned by the Puppeteer, having to follow their command when needed. Longing for the days of his stories, and the thought of turning these stories into moving plays, he accepted The Puppeteer’s deal.
He’s definitely more social and outgoing than the other Overlords, much like how he was when he was alive. He tries to get along with everyone, being polite and respectful even towards the rudest individual, but he views The Puppeteer as a god of some sort, praising him for the gifts they bestowed onto them. After the Puppeteer invited Charlie and the gang to watch one of their performances, he met with Charlie and immediately started to flatter her, trying to get her praise for his plays. Even after learning about the Hazbin Hotel, and what Charlie is trying to accomplish at said hotel, he only cares about what goes on at the Theater. He both deeply admires and fears The Puppeteer, doing anything and everything to gain their approval.
His name “Stragedys” is a combination of the Greek word for “Soldier” and Tragedy.
She is around 8ft 5in tall, making him slightly taller than Angel Dust, who’s around 8ft 2in.
He’s a cyclops for a few reasons:
Cyclops are from Greek Mythology.
He lost one of his eyes during the war.
Clyclops are described to be violent and not the brightest, which fits how Stragedys was towards the end of his life.
Regarding the colors, I decided to do more seaweed colors mainly to represent the incident that lost his uncle and his general motivation to write.
He has marks that look like shot wounds on his head, neck, and torso to represent how he died.
The cuffs around his ankles, wrists, and neck act as “shackles” due to being under The Puppeteer’s control.
His eye is actually detachable, and can be used had a weapon. When it pops out, it turns to stone and can be used as a chained wrecking ball.

While working on the headshot rough drafts for the AU variants of Neue, I’m also brainstorming on some concepts for, I guess a reimagining of a few AUs. This is not me trying to “improve” the original AU, it’s just me wanting to have some fun & doing my take of other AUs.
This is gonna be a veeeeeerrry looooong post.
The main 2 I’ll be working on are Horrortale & Dusttale.
I wanted to get opinions & suggestions for these concepts before delving too deep into these ideas. Please tell your thoughts on this & if I need to change/improve on.
Horrortale will be more appearance-based, meaning that I won’t be doing a lot of story building & it’s more of just redesigning the characters to look more “monstrous”. Basically they’ll be more animalistic or feral & their bodies would have gone through heavy changes to “adapt”.
*This is literally an excuse to draw the characters as big & scary horror movie style “monsters”. I guess this would make it similar to the Underworld AU, but the story or origin for the change would be similar to Horrortale, but takes place even further after the Neutral Route*
For right now, I’ve been calling this AU of an AU: Feral!Horrortale. But a few others are Dwellertale/Underdwell, Undercave/Cavetale, Carnitale & or Undermaw.
I’ve written a few ideas for their overall appearance based on Nocturnal & Cave-Adapted animals. I won’t list all of them otherwise this post will be way too long, but here are a few:
Eyes
Will become bigger
Pupils will become extremely dilated
Will become blind, either with cloudy Pupils or losing their eyes completely
Mouth
Jaw becomes much stronger
Able to be unhinged
Senses
Becomes extremely sensitive to light
Scent of smell & hearing will become much more heightened
May develop echolocation due to loss of sight
General Appearance
Depending on location, those in colder areas will become bigger, while those living in hotter areas will become smaller
Aging will slow down, longer lifespan
Psychological Changes
Will become much more aggressive & animalistic/feral
Start to communicate through nonverbal communication: clicking, chirps, barks, croaks, etc.
These are just a few of concepts for this version of Horrortale.
For Dusttale, it’ll be more story-based, but will have some illustrations here & there. The main differences is that Vani would be from this version & would detail an alternate ending for Vani, also this version would include Sans being “hired” to work for Nightmare.
Now before I go on about the basic concept for this AU, I’ll need to explain a few things first:
Sans’s Killing Spree: I don’t know if in the original he killed all monsters (I kept getting mixed answers or no answers at all), but in this version he only killed most monsters. There were a few that were able to get away & hide before Sans could get them; Sans only wanted to get enough EXP to reach LV 19 or 20 (I can’t decide which one yet). Vani, & probably characters like Monster Kid, Napstablook & Mettaton (Ghost Form), would be one of these survivors.
*As a side note: Papyrus in this AU is an actual ghost & not a hallucination, but I’ll go over that in another post*
Frisk & Chara: In this AU, Frisk & Chara are basically “organic” A.I. attached to a “Real World Anchor” aka Frisk’s body/vessel. Chara was the original concept for the “Fallen Human”, but was scrapped due to them being too “independent & free-willed”. Frisk is the current concept prototype for the “Fallen Human”, made from original data & a blank template; however bits of Chara’s A.I. was used as filler for missing information within Frisk’s A.I., this causes Chara to appear as a glitched phantom (good example of this would be Glitchtrap from FNaF Help Wanted). Chara has little to no control over Frisk, instead they can only give “suggestions” to hopefully influence Frisk’s actions.
The Player: The Player is depicted/described as a higher entity or deity, they could be seen as the “Angel” sent to create peace between humans & monsters (this is based off the theory that the rune we see throughout the game is a depiction of 2 monsters, a human & an angel). The Player at the beginning of the route will have minimal control over Frisk, mainly able to give “directions or actions” that Frisk should follow. But the more EXP that is gained, the more control the Player will have over Frisk. This could cause a total takeover with the Player “ejecting” the A.I. from the anchor aka vessel.
How Did Vani Survive: In the most simplistic way of describing: she can’t die, her soul will automatically heal itself/her. Now in further details: Vani was born with (what I’ll be calling for now) a glitched soul; this causes the soul to look, well glitched out. However it has an ability to automatically heal itself & its body, but not through the usual way; via magic or healing items. Whenever Vani takes damage, the soul will “reload” her back to the point/time & placement right before she takes damage; however the world around her is not affected or altered by this ability, to everyone around her: she looks like she’s “lagging” or “glitching”. Fortunately, or more like unfortunately, this ability is automatically & Vani is unable to “deactivate” it; it use to be super over efficient (would activate if Vani took 1HP or less), but started to calm down has Vani got older (would activate if Vani loses half or more). Even if her HP reaches 0, the soul will activate its ability & essentially “resurrect” Vani; this is what happened when Sans was trying to kill her.
Ok now that that’s out of the way, the basic concept of this AU is…
BRINGING BACK THE DEAD!!!
Or Vani & the remaining monsters tried to improve on the artificial DETERMINATION to resurrect the fallen monsters. But it still causes them to melt, but can gain stability by “merging” with other monsters or inanimate objects (sticks, plants, sturdy clothing, etc.).
This obviously a huge info dump, but I’m super excited about this & I wanted to get everyone’s opinion or suggestion before I go too deep in.

Sorry it took forever to do these 3, I didn’t have a lot of ideas except for a very basic concept.
Not gonna lie, I can’t draw flowers that well so I just pasted some pics of flowers on Quire to get a basic idea for placement, points for ya’ll if you can guess the flowers and what they symbolize.
I also found out that XTale was technically a Swap AU, which meant I had to make a few changes to Gisha, mainly personality and clothing ideas, I might remove the crown. (I also changed Gisha’s name from Mono, and made them Non-Binary).
I don’t have much to say about Styx, I was debating on drawing birds on his horns; side note: he’s gonna play an interesting role along side Quire and Gisha.
The poses for the reference sheets of the overlords are gonna look stiff and uninteresting, but that’s because I’m just trying to show off the clothing design and general appearance of the character.
Now onto the character:
I’m still trying to figure out a color scheme for her, and finding designs for 1820–1830 Russian Ballet attire was a lot harder than it needed to be.
She’s gonna be the tallest of the Theatre Overlords, I’m still trying to figure out a height, but she’s gonna be taller than Valentino. She seems to carry a lot of weight when moving, you can hear her approaching like an upcoming train.
I’ll go more into her design when I post the base design with colors.

I’ll be creating another character sheet for Mati to explain Mati’s abilities & effects on the residents/visitors of Gravity Falls.
