Saw a tiktok of a guy saying he doesn’t feel comfortable talking to minors because he’s 19. And it’s just. I’m so fucking tired of this.

And like to be clear, I’m speaking as a victim of pedophilia when I say: We need to get over this collective fear of endangering children. Because holy shit, this stuff is getting out of hand.

The average person is not a threat to a child.

And also!!! It is actually really really good for kids to have friendships with adults that aren’t their family.

Having friendships with adults when you’re younger prepares you for adult life in a better way then only interacting with adults that are family members or teacher as well.

And also if there’s any sort of weird behavior happening with adults or teachers, it’s very helpful to have unrelated adults, you can go to, and also have a model for what normal adults are supposed to look like.

And also! You’re just making it way easier for pedophiles to prey on children when you completely avoid interacting with them as an adult. Because kids are naturally inquisitive and curious. They are going to want to interact with adults and they are going to want to ask questions. And if the only adult adults that are willing to interact and speak with them or adults who have ulterior motivations. Guess what’s gonna happen.

Also on a more general note. Having a model for what a normal healthy adult is supposed to look like makes it way easier for kids to be able to recognize and identify when adults in their personal life are being weird.

I think this is because people (especially on TikTok) like to point to figures of authority even when it's not applicable

A good majority of this we can also blame on right wingers, transmeds, and a small bit of those very specific detrans grifters who make it seem like the trans community "groomed them"

All those groups went for years going on about how dysphoria is a very special mental illness to the point of taking away people's autonomy on how people perceive themselves

Species dysphoria *is* somewhat recognized, just not fully or medically (and I'm not sure it would really be good if it was either or both of those considering how most people treat clinical zoanthropes already)

But people can't point to a disorder and (think) they can't point to any papers (despite them existing) so it MUST NOT EXIST! the assumed authority has said so! (Which should be left to the creature, not anyone else). But if species dysphoria *does* get medically recognized then you're gonna be called even more delusional than usual because "look! It's a disorder! Something is clearly wrong with YOU!"

I hate when I mention species dysphoria on tiktok and half or more of the comments I get are telling me it's not real or I cant use the term dysphoria for that, I've already gone into why dysphoria is a okay term to use several times, but like you can't just say its not real when many others experience it- sure I don't think its recognized in the medical field (might be wrong idk) but that doesn't just erase others feelings and experiences

Like I'm just confused what people think commenting that isn't real is gonna do, doesn't change what Im feeling, I wish it did honestly because I'm tired of feeling like this but like obviously it's not changing anytime soon even if you decide to pretend like Im making it up for some reason

I love picturing posts made by kins/therians/voidpunks (and sometimes furries) as being typed out by their actual perception of self versus my own idea of them.

Like. That post you just reblogged? A cat typed it out. With its funny little paws. A cat took the time out of its day to type out that post you reblogged

That “person” you’re dming? You’re chatting with an angel, actually. They’re typing with their graceful, beautiful hands, chatting with you

That guy who draws the comics you like? He’s a big purple crocodile. He said so himself. Look, it’s in his profile picture!

Like wow! We’re all so different and unique! That’s super cool!

help me WHAT

listen to me rant about therians on tiktok and animal packers!!

under cut bc there’s a few pics and don’t want to clutter up people’s feeds 😋

Help Me WHAT
Help Me WHAT
Help Me WHAT
Help Me WHAT
Help Me WHAT

so i’ve said it before but tiktok therians are just 😟 they wouldn’t last two minutes on tumblr or twitter/x

psychosis?? mental illness??

the caption honestly just tops it off lmfao this person clearly has NO IDEA what they’re talking about.

as someone who’s been (unwilling) exposed to genuine zoo stuff… packers are not that. real zoophiles want to put their stuff in dogs not put a silicone shape (or even a damn stuffed sock) in their pants

and who the fuck even cares if someone has a little silicone thing in their pants? you’d only know if the person told you?

repeat this after me:

PACKERS. ARE. NOT. SEXUAL.

THEY. NEVER. HAVE.

THEY. NEVER. WILL.

it’s giving “oh so your ‘gender’ is this? well whats in your pants? because that’s what your ‘real gender’ is.”

it’s giving transphobes who want to have a peek in your pants. it’s giving transphobes who care entirely too much about whats in your pants.

as a trans man and a therian myself (who personally doesn’t wear a packer at all due to financial restrictions), it’s kind of just people trying to hide that they’re actually transphobic but what to hide it behind “but it’s an *animal* packer! gasp! that’s so clearly zoophilia (idek what that word means so im just throwing the word around so much it’ll lose its meaning soon)!”

anyway, oscar out

Hi bird therians! I'd like to present the following list of definitions of avian terminology; instincts and anatomy. Specifically, terms for things that many birdkin may already be aware of due to their own shifts, but not know the word for or even that it's a real and normal thing. Why do I make that assumption? Because my own mind was blown every time I discovered one of these words, the way things I would do or phantom parts I would feel suddenly made sense. So I hope to induce the same reaction in at least someone.

Behaviors

Mantling is mostly a bird of prey thing, the action of leaning over a kill and shielding the spoils with your wings so as to defend it from thieves. I can do no better of a description than a photo, included at the bottom of this post and for raptors it will probably spark recognition.

Rousing is the word for that "slowly fluff up the feathers and then shake the whole body" thing that birds do. Yes, it does have a name! Birds do it when relaxed or just chilly. It is not a threat display. I experience this as like an near-involuntary action -- like scratching an itch or sneezing -- and because I'm not actually raising physical feathers it feels kind of like shivering. But it sort of feels frustrating that I can't seem to achieve it. Like when a sneeze goes away.

Feather-plucking (pterotillomania) is a maladaptive habit birds in captivity develop when they are stressed. You see it most often with parrots, because they're kept as pets more than other birds and are also extremely intelligent so more easily understimulated. Sometimes this does feel like being a bird in captivity and a lot of you might experience this instinct without knowing what it is your brain's asking to do because you have no feathers. Calling it pterotillomania is helpful to me because I have actual dermotillomania and if my body had feathers I'd be plucking them.

Anatomy

Nictitating membrane. Starting with this because you may already know it by now. The third eyelid of birds, translucent, drawn sideways across the eye so that you can keep it moist while still being able to see. Also, as you may know, relevant to cat therians!

Crop. Part of the digestive tract of a bird in the throat where food is temporarily stored before being digested. If you had these shifts it would feel like, according to Wikipedia, basically an enlarged portion of the esophagus.

Keel. An extension of the sternum, the structure to which flight muscles are attached. If you had these shifts it would feel like a thin bone going beneath (or I guess on a humanoid body plan, in front of) your ribcage.

Cloaca. In the interest of not having to mark this post mature, I will not define or describe this one. I encourage you to look it up. Mammals are already working to reduce the stigma surrounding these types of shifts and instincts; we can do the same. There is no shame in it. You're a bird and birds have these. Accept it.

Birds do have sensation in our beaks. There are nerve endings in the beak. Not as much as, say, human skin, but yes, birds can feel touch on their beaks. If you can feel your beak, great! That is anatomically correct, and it certainly does not make you fake!

And now for your enjoyment, a mantling eagle:

When will people finally understand that therianthropy DOESN’T end when it comes to genital dysphoria or in the bedroom?? That so doesn’t make therianthropy inherently sexual but god it’s not like it just packs its bags and leaves when it’s deemed too much for chronically online alterhuman antis to understand ????????? Fuckin hell bro
