At that, Bite punches '41 lightly in the arm.
"Quit it. No one is going to die. You are Coruscant Guard, best of the best, have some damn faith in yourself."
Bite steps closer to the table to start properly examining the map of the area the complaints are from. It's one of the lowest levels, with few speeder lanes and even fewer cameras. He'll have to do a proper casing of the building itself once it has been identified, but Bite is already putting together how to get to and from the level without alerting the wrong people.
"The lack of cameras on the level will make avoiding detection easier, but with how few citizens on those levels own speeders, we are going to need a different way down if we want to remain discreet. The elevators don't offer a quick enough escape if things go wrong, so... suggestions? I haven't been planet side as long as some of you so you many know of something I don't."
*INCOMING COMM*
This is a private frequency I’ve sent out across the guards comms. I think I know where to find CT-3996, Tumbler, I’m asking all guards who can to help, I’m asking all Vode who know anything to help.
I’ve left cords on where to find me, now let’s find Tumbler!
Crane put down the comm, all there was left to do was wait. Was crane nervous? Obviously, none of the Corrie’s really knew him yet and he’s asking for their help to find a vod who most think is dead.
He does truly hope help will come, but if not, Crane is fully prepared to go it alone. No matter what Forge says, what he doesn’t know won’t kill him…. Probably.
"No, you won't. The list of vod'e they fight is logged, you kill them, someone kills us."
That was made very clear to him when he was there. The threat was punctuated with a sharp jab with a pike to ensure Bite got the message. He uses the obviously stolen bacta sparingly, the gaudy label of natborn supplies straining his eyes as he tries to read the info on the container.
"Regardless, vor entye. For the bacta and the support."
"....You're not meant to look like that." || Bleeding Prompt!||
(@corrie-guard-tumbler)
"Not meant to look like what, Tumbler?"
Bite was in the barracks, just trying to fix up anything in urgent need of his attention after the latest round of Specialist Trooper VS Red Guard, a 'fun' game the chancellor's pets liked to pull any guard with additional training into.
It was only because of the injuries that the skanah aran had left him with that Bite was out of the majority of his blacks in the barracks for the first time since he arrived. He'd had absolutely no intention of showing anyone other than the other medics the complex pieces of metal that held together his right knee or left shoulder if he didn't have to. And now he has remembered why.
"If you've got an issue with the braces, take it up with the Kaminoans."
Not. A. Chance.
"I apologise, Ma'am, but the situation requires CT-3996's immediate attention. This unit has received training and education in every area our creators and trainers could have anticipated my line of clones could require."
Bite is going to throw every single thing the demagolka from Kamino ever told him to justify their cruelty back at this osik'la woman now. He already knows this is going to hurt, but there is no chance he is letting the senator drag his vod back into to hell along with him.
"Mouse is waiting for you vod'ika, don't make him worry. It's my job as your medic to fix you when you're broken, it's my job as your vod to atleast try to stop people from getting to break you in the first place."
Ka'ra, Bite is not looking forward to the conversation he can feel coming after this is over.
[DECEIVE] The sender tells a lie in order to protect the receiver || Bite was hoping for a quiet shift, though a shift as the on call medic for the senate is never quiet. As soon as Bite saw a senator getting a bit too close to his vod, he sped up to intervene. "Sir, I see that you seem to be asking this trooper for some assistance. I regret to inform you that it is unable to complete any alternative taskings at this time. I can assist you with anything you need to the best of my ability."
"Oooh? CT-3996, why didn't you tell me you were occupied? Were you hoping someone would tattle on lil ol' me?"
Tumbler would appear unaffected at first glance, settled in perfect parade rest but Bite would see how Tumbler is digging his fingers hard into his forearms, hidden behind and out of sight of the Senator, hiding his building fear and discomfort as the Senator trails her hand under where his chin would be, safe beneath his bucket.
"I was unaware, Senator Vyrim. Forgive this Trooper, it's holocomm may be inoperable and missed a situation that requires their attention."
He hopes, prays even, to whatever damned deity or greater being or even the sith-damned Force that the Senator drops the matter. Senator Vyrim was too alike Sly Moore for Tumbler to truly dismiss and disassociate from, the Rattataki Senator sharing the same pale tone and eye colour, with her tattoos and bejeweled skin the only difference from the Umbaran female.
"Thank you for telling me, vod, I assume Tumbler knew seeing as he seems to be taking a certain level of glee in the situation?"
Bite's heard similar stories, but every time, they make his blood boil and stomach roll. He'd learned early to expect harm from the Kaminoans and Cuy'val Dar, but their brothers? They were supposed to be safe.
"Alright, he's ready for transport, I need both of you to help me get him to the medbay without jostling him as much as possible. Ready? Let's go."

Hey, so-- okaylistenIknockedaguyout-- okay no, breathe, just breathe-- okay. I mostly-accidentally knocked Vayne unconscious and now he's bleeding from his ears. I also not-accidentally broke his ankles. And uh. Tumbler and I have no idea what to do.
This was not what he'd expected when he arrived after receiving a 'Help Please!' comm from Mouse.
"Ok, before I touch any of the rest of that, keep breathing vod'ika, you are going to be fine. In, hold, out. Good Mouse, and again. In, hold, out. There we go. Show me the way, vod'ika, I'll see what I can do."
Given the description of the injuries, Bite is rather confused on exactly how the little vod before him managed to make someone bleed from their ears after a punch, but given the things he's seen, he'll wait until he can see for himself to make any judgements on the situation.
"It's- I- I don't know. I feel like I'm there, in that room, but I can't be because my squad came for me, right? They got me out, but they aren't here, and I don't know where here is. I don't know where I am. And where are my squad? Kara, please say I got out! Please say I'm not making that up!"
Bite's breathing is slowly starting to even out as he subconsciously mimics the pattern of the vod in front of him. His mind is still racing. Every reason he finds to think he might be ok is immediately joined by more reasons he isn't. At least he isn't alone, the warm body under his palms, not a trick his mind is capable of playing.
"Not alone, not alone, not alone..."

[Nice, song 27: Panic Room by Au/Ra]
Bite wakes with a jolt and a loud swear, tumbling from his top bunk and groaning as he lands on the previously distant floor.
"Kriff, one night of uninterrupted sleep in all I ask for." Bite mumbles in staggered, sharp breaths, aware of the vode sleeping around him. He pushes himself up on shaking limps as the adrenaline from his nightmare continues to rage through him.
In the darkness of the barracks, Bite could have sworn he was somewhere else, the cold floor only serving to help his mind send him places he never wants to think of again. Only the steady breathing of sleeping clones, intrupted by the sounds of rustling sheets and creeking frames, grounds him in the room.
Even now, Bite can feel the panic in his throat, and the images of past horrors flash across his vision. The shaking has spread throughout his entire body, and his breathing is still uneven. With each thunderous beat of his heart, Bite moved further into the shadows of his mind.
Bite ajusted the straps of the triage kit on his back as he sizes up the guard on the door.
"He's got some sort of training, hired muscle most likely. Knock him out quietly. He doesn't look the type to cause an issue."
Bite looks back at the obscured faces of the rest of the group, anticipation and focus reflected in each of them. They had been working to try and save Tumbler for a while, and the exhaustion was obviously creeping up on them, but it could wait. Once they had their vod back, then they could rest.
[It's go time! :D @squad380 @guard-crane ]
Admick has a feeling today is going to be a bad one.
Easy gig, Birean said. Just guard the complex and don't let anyone out, they said. Well, nowhere did that moron mention they were keeping a semi-feral clone contained where it didn't want to be!
Admick only saw it once and he promptly wished he never did in the first place. It was a shift change, them switching out with the Rattataki guards the Senator had overseeing the complex and he lingered around just to see what the screw ups got as punishment for failing to keep the entire area hush hush.
He assumes the room is meant to look like a barracks but all he saw was a slaughter room. Blood stained the floors, the unused bed was beyond any cleaning beside a furnace and the clone?
There was no hint of life or person in those eyes, when met them by mistake. He felt assessed and cornered until the doors shut and the sounds of muffled screaming began. And the worst part? The Rattataki found it hilarious.
'Must be feeling energetic today!' What the actual kriff?
At least the damn thing is leaving tomorrow, Admick thinks to himself as he remains unaware of the approaching group of disguised Clones.
Bite takes the datapad from the obviously nervous vod in front of him and sets it down on the desk before looking back at him.
"Before I read this, I just want to say thank you for trusting me with this. I know it can be hard to talk about, I'm a transfer myself. You have done a good job just getting to this point, vod."
After that, he picks up the data pad and begins to read. What he read was horrible. He mourned for the shines who never got to grow up, but he also mourned for the man stood before him. For Forges life he lost after he was put through a hell he can't even remember.
"Thank you, vod. That must have been hard to write. If you ever need me, for absolutely anything, whether that be in the form of a medic, or a friend, comm me."
As Bite speaks, he writes down his comm code on a slip of flimsy and holds it out for Forge to take.
The door to the med bay opens with its usual hisssssss
He clears his throat.
“Uh excuse me,—”
(@guard-crane :D yay forge time)
Bite looks up from where he sat at the small desk shoved into the corner of the medbay, filling out medical reports to add to a few troopers' files when someone walked in. He can see no visible injuries in the clone in the doorway, so he stays sitting but puts down his stylus and gives the trooper his full attention.
"That's me. What can I do for you, vod?"
We will keep them for observation a little longer and move up the next checks to make sure there are no side effects. Thanks for the intel vod'ika, we've got them from here.
@corrie-bite Sir, I'm getting an incoming transmission from the current patrol. It seems that they came across a riot in the making and put a stop to it, but they got a bit banged up doing it. We've got 7 incoming troopers who need medical attention.
If Bite had been frustrated with the situation before, now he was pissed. As a front liner, a medic and a stealth trooper Bite has watched countless brothers die, has known if he'd got there quicker, if the plan was better or the stakes less high he could have saved at least some of them. It has only been since joining the guard that he felt so incredibly outmatched by how powerless he is to help. He won't do it this time, take the route all the corrie vets tell him is the only choice. He isn't just going to roll over and let Tumbler die.
"No. I won't write it. I can get him out. All I need is a location and maybe one or two more clones, but I can do it! I can get him out without causing a scene, I can even manipulate the evidence to put the thugs behind bars. I won't let Tumbler die because you are afraid when I have been training for these types of missions most of my life!"
*BZZZZZZT*
If anyone is getting this, I need back-up! This is CT-3996, I am on level 105, I am being chased by unknow-KARK!
*There's a thud and grunt, then a quick scramble of action. As if the speaker had fallen and quickly gotten back up and ran afterwards. There's some voices in the background, muffled and inaudible*
I don't know who the suspects are or if they are gang affiliated, they are wearing concealing face-wear and no verbal confirmation of Separatist allegiance!
*There's a brief lapse of silence as Tumbler seems to be ducking around obstacles, huffing as runs from the assailants. They are getting closer and a blaster sounds off, earning a panicked curse from the Guard*
OSIK! VODE, THEY'RE AN INSIDE JOB! THEY ARE DIRECTING ME AWAY FROM MY KNOWN ESCAPE ROUTES, THEY ISOLATED ME FROM OTHER PATROLS! THEY-
*A another round of blasters before Tumbler is seemingly hit, hitting the ground with a heavy thud. His bucket records his unsteady breathing until footsteps are heard approaching*
Time to come home to our Lady, pet.
*The last recording before Tumbler's signal vanishes ends*
Bite signs back, 'Open on 3', before moving up next to the other side of the frame. He nodded to Crane before unlocking the keypad and opening the door.
He slips in, steps silent, into the stagnant air on the other side. The old florescent lights lined the hallway, casting twisted shadows across every surface.
'Clear. Advance.'
