What kind of brushes would you recommend to use when trying to mimic isat's artstyle?

I'd love to answer this one, cause it actually took me a while to get it down!!

The program I use (Medi Bang Paint Pro) is pretty limited in terms of brush functions. If you use something like Clip Studio, I'm sure you can find a brush that suits your needs.

However, through trial and error, I ended up making my own.

The main key is anti-aliasing.

Using Bonnie's laughing sprite from the game "In Stars and Time" as an example

QUICK NOTES I DIDN'T DRAW:

1. NO PEN PRESSURE SENSITIVITY, TURN THAT SHIT OFF, The ISAT artstyle majorly uses round flat brushes (and maybe changes the size for detail accordingly.) 2. The sprites in game experience some corruption (if it's from program corruption or intentional choice on the dev's part is up for debate) 3. There in minor inconsistencies in the style and shapes. You're not gonna get Isa's face shape right, Sif's eye is probably gonna look off, Odile's hair is gonna be too poofy- that's okay. And even if your brush of colors aren't perfect that's okay. 4. The main important thing for ISAT's artstyle is the vibes, and there is no formula to that. Just try to find your own place within those vibes. My last comic, I actually halfway through just stopped trying to imitate the artstyle, as much as I was just trying to express myself within that style's minor guidelines. 5. I also HEAVILY RECOMMEND looking at Tawny's guide on expressions, it's super helpful for GETTING those said vibes

Page 7. Loop is sitting at the foot of the Favor Tree, holding their head in their hands with a pained expression. Shards surround them, showing Isabeau over the course of multiple loops, some where he's just thinking to himself, others where he's spotted Loop.

Page 8. Loop takes a moment to rub their eyes, staring up in the air exhaustedly. There is someone in front of them as they look back ahead however, and they still.

Page 9. " Are you alright? " asks Isabeau, giving a small, concerned smile. His hands are raised a bit, as if wanting to reach out. Loop, in front of him, gets startled, and pushes themselves against the Favor Tree, wanting to disappear. " Oh, I didn't meant to startle you! " says Isabeau.

Page 10. Isabeau keeps talking, a bit awkwardly but trying to be friendly. " Well, I thought I was seeing things at first... And then I saw you at the foot of the tree, rubbing your eyes- and I thought you were crying? " He waves a hand. " So, I figured I could just check on you and- "

" I can't cry. " Loop interrupts.

Page 11. Isabeau, not expecting that answer, lets out a small " what ", before putting himself together again, managing to ask. " What do you mean by- " Before he can even finish his sentence, Loop answers. " It'd just ' tear ' me apart. "

Isabeau stares, unamused, and Loop stays silent, before bringing their hands to their face, hiding in them. While Loop is internally hoping to loop back, Isabeau squints and mutters. " Is that so...? Well. "

Page 12. " Then I hope you don't mind if I sit here for a bit? " Isabeau says while sitting at the foot of the tree next to them. Loop hesitates for a moment, then looks back at him, bringing his hands together with a (fake) cheery attitude. " ... Sure, " says Loop.

Loop says they try not to look the Fighter's way, and that he's never going to see them anyway, so it doesn't matter. Well... What happens when he does look their way?

Crab off! --gives your Loop a mouth-- because in this family not eating Bonnie's food is a crime.

So, remember this comic I did the other day? At first it was just gonna be a random Odile looping au comic, but then I said "what if the family DOES interact with Loop in the fic I'm writing?" And this happened.

A little explanation (cause I don't know when will I finish this fic so I may as well tell the story in comics or something):

We apply the 'teams' here (beauty alliance and opposite sides of the age spectrum alliance). That means (since act 4) Mirabelle knows Isabeau is looping, Isabeau knows Mirabelle is looping; Odile knows Bonnie is looping and Bonnie knows Odile is looping; but no one knows EVERYONE is looping (I will assume this makes sense).

Why hasn't Loop say anything about this to the other family members? Because.

Why hadn't they told Siffrin that the rest of the party is looping? Because Siffrin knows already but he's in negation, to put it simple (and because something something they know Siffrin would mcblinding lose it and they don't want that)

I'm also gonna add the little fact that Loop's mask only works with Siffrin, and it slips a bit TOO often with the rest of the family.

Are you seeing the possible drama??? Do you see my vision???

Loop (thinking): "you can eat."

Bonnie: "So? How is it?"

Loop (thinking): "you can eat!!! You can taste!!!"

Thirth panel:

Bonnie: "uh... Loop?"

Loop: "thank you snack leader for this delicious meal"

-Forth panel is Loop and Bonnie sitting at the favor three. Loop is cleaning their tears and Bonnie is sitting next to them about to fall asleep.
