Rules and FAQs

Welcome to the MCYT Sibling Showdown, where sets of siblings in the MCYT Multiverse go up against each other to determine the best sibling dynamic!

What qualifies as a set of siblings?

For the sake of the poll, sibling set nominees are divided into three categories:

Canonical: These characters are canonically siblings, biological, adopted, in-laws, or otherwise.

Canonical Honorary: These characters are canonically honorary siblings and have a sibling-like dynamic in canon.

Fanon: These characters do not have a canonical sibling dynamic, but are frequently portrayed as such in fan depictions.

Are there any limits to what dynamics I can nominate?

In-law dynamics are allowed ONLY if they are between a canonically established relationship within the source media, i.e. Fanon submissions of in-law dynamics are NOT allowed. This is to prevent bringing the entire MCYT Family Forest into the mix, for the sake of everyone's sanity.

Characters in the sibling dynamic can be main characters (played by active content creators) or NPCs (as defined in the @mcytnpcshowdown), or a combination of the two.

Real-life sibling content creators (e.g. Stampy Cat and NettyPlays) can qualify for this tournament ONLY IF their characters are also portrayed as siblings in collaborative media – a note will be added that the content creators are siblings in real life in such cases.

The number of sibling sets in the tournament will be determined by the number of individual submissions.

If you have any questions about whether a certain dynamic CAN be submitted, please ask! If there are any grey areas in the categorization, they will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

As per MCYTblr tradition, voter fraud, bribery, and propaganda is allowed. Just DON'T BE TOXIC.

The mod will not be playing fair. Please tag this blog if you want everyone to see your propaganda.

The mod also has the final right to decide which nominations go in the poll, but they will only interfere with the nominations if they have to.

If a dynamic is nominated under the Canonical Honorary category, please submit at least one piece of evidence from the source material to prove they are Canonical Honorary siblings.

Oli’s family in esmp season 1 is from a kingdom of music on the coast close to them

they are just as artistic and they are allied with mezalia because of the record label that both kingdoms contribute to

But I think oli lives in mezalia maybe he is not the Heineken his parents sent him to mezalia and he grew up there

Joel is visually artistic and Oli is musically artistic and they are best friends amen <33

The aU started as me having fun by typing out the most basic god types and giving them to the emperors I thought they fit best with (I tried to do at least two domains each)

So that was the jumping off point but the domains changed and some that I wrote down didn’t get used an example of that is how I wrote down luck but never matched it to anyone

In the beginning I used only the most well known Greek gods but also I added the trickster god type based on Loki

For some i added some more niche stuff like fwhip I matched him with fire but I couldn’t decide on a second among the Olympians So I took revenge from nemesis a lesser known Greek goddess

For Katherine i couldn’t see her with any of them and didn’t want to shoehorn her into a role that didn’t fit or give her a domain that made more sense for one of the other emperors to have so I went to tv tropes and looked at the stock gods page where I found god of order

For jimmy death was the obvious choice but i originally added childbirth birth as well because of my rule of giving at least two per emperor but I found it more interesting for there to be one god with only one domain

Joey was wealth and war I kept wealth but have drifted away from war so there is not really a war god in the god au I mean war can result from almost all of there domains but there is no god of war

I based shubble on pan and the mother goddess types that create life but I would like to be clear shubble doesn’t have the mother symbolism nor is she the one that created life

Honestly I didn’t remember false until after I had divided the domains throughout the emperors and was already satisfied with so I took what I knew about her character and didn’t base her on a specific god

Then I got more individualized like how gem was originally a god of knowledge I made it more specific so now it’s teaching and religion

Pearl Goddess of the harvest and farming her title was literally the farmer pearl and in the past people kept track of harvest by looking at the phases of the moon and positioning of the constellations

Lizzie the trickster goddess of the ocean and government ocean because in season one she was a fish goddess and government because in season two she was a mayor and in both she is a scam artist trying to make a profit through morality ambiguous means

Joel god of thunder and art in canon he is the god of thunder and if anyone in empires was a art god it would be the guy that sculpted clones of himself and built stratos/mezalia

Katherine goddess order and balance and duality she fights evil by transforming from the pretty pink princess to the axe wielding warrior and as lady Katherine of the overgrown she is the one that is neutral the one that Try’s to keep order

Jimmy is The god of death for obvious reasons

Joey is the god of wealth and desire because he is a pirate and pirates like gold also he steals from false and really wants to get in xornoth s pants he also Katherine’s (understandable)

Shubble is the goddess of nature and the wild because her whole wolf thing she had going on in the first season of empires and the infected outlaw thing she had in season 2

Scott god of the passage of time and the four seasons (and rainbows) because he has connections to flowers (spring) in life series and stars in origin smp and winter in empires smp

Pix god of messengers and prophecies( he is in charge of the recaps that gives people information they might have missed also he is a prophet)

Fwhip god of fire and revenge because in both seasons of empires he has had a stubborn heated rivalry with jimmy and did not take the break up well also in art his hair is fire truck red

Gem goddess knowledge and magic because she as the wizard gem she is a powerful magician and because as the princess of dawn she teaches others about the sun god also the wizard gems empire is literally a school

Sausage love and family and lust because he is known for his platonic love (Hermes and Eddie and pearl) and let’s say his passionate spicy love( pole dancing and flirting)

Empires smp god au jimmy’s role

As the god of death jimmy can’t create or alter the world he can’t even destroy it

His job is to collect souls and guide them to their last destination 

A final entrance that even Jimmy cant access

it’s something that not even the god of death can comprehend 

Jimmy doesn’t know if it’s reincarnation or paradise or hell or just vanishing forever that awaits the souls on the other side

The only certainty is that it can’t be crossed by anyone other than expired lives

This rule applies to everything 

perhaps for the dead passing through it’s a beginning it is impossible to know before our time comes

but it is as far as the gods and still living mortals can go

It’s were our world stops

For us it’s an ending

Empires smp god au Joey and pearl

Some very interesting things started happening Around the time civilizations started popping up

the first was Lizzie gaining government as new domain

and the second was the entrance of two new gods who came along in quick succession 

 Joey god of desire and wealth whos domain made it’s self known through greedy kings and the beginnings of economic systems 

pearl the goddess of the harvest and farming who arrived as humans learned to tame shubbles wilderness

It is Joey who is the older of the two after all it was the wealth of the of the kings that attracted the civilians who were looking for protection

And in exchange for said protection they tended to the kings live stock and fields

Jimmy is a part of the Apple family and is named goldrush apple (its real)

his mark is a canary/golden colored apple that is sliced down the middle with a core shaped like a star symbolizing his deep seeded want for respect and his willingness to tear himself apart to get it

Lizzies name is pink lady apple and is apart of the apple family

her cutie mark is a coin with an apple on it and she knows that people will look at her very unsubtle mark and will conclude that she’s only after money and it will be bad for business so she covers it up

Grians birth name is sun crisp apple(it’s real) but he ran away and joined a cult were he was required to give up his name and choose a new one 

So Grian currently goes by blister dawn the reason he ran away  was because he was treated like an outsider do to him not being an earth pony

Empires smp god au the twins gem and fwhip

Gem started as the goddess of contemplation and potential she was born when animals started to think and had the idea to leave the ocean for the land

she would later gain magic and miracles and belief in things that seem impossible when religion and philosophy got more popular She is also the goddess of teaching and learning

she is the planning stages and the bright young mind building up there skill sets as well as the hypothesis of a scientist

She is warm like a fire in need of more kindling and she is the spark of a idea taking form she is the blue print and the first draft the dreams that are not yet a reality 

Her brother Fwhip is the god of innovation and progress he came after his sister when the animals followed through with their ambitions and took their first steps on the land

he is the reason we continue he causes spite and determination

later he was behind the humans discovery of fire he is also the god of revenge and envy and humanity 

he is the jealousy that feeds competition the inner flame the breaking with tradition he is the test trials and the final product the drive to improve and surpass our limits

he is humanity’s greatest strengths and ingrained flaws and a reminder of how our strengths when taken to extremes are damaging and how flaws when left to fester leave a person stagnant 

They are both gods of knowledge and evaluation

but While gems knowledge focuses on theory and laying out the foundations

fwhips knowledge is what happens before and after the objective is met also quick thinking when things don’t go as expected

Lizzie wears a navy inspired outfit because it’s a combination of government and ocean 

False i imagine her wearing very casual clothing to move around in so like hoodies and T-shirts not very interesting clothes but her domain is more shown through her aura of mystery and badassness she useily fades into the background but when she does something she leaves an impression 

Fwhip likes to wear something from the Industrial Revolution because that is a time where his power went through a lot of growth 

Scott’s eyes and hair can change color based on the season and wether it’s day or night

During winter it’s cyan (default) during autumn it’s pumpkin orange (pirates) during spring it’s raisin purple (origins) in summer it’s lime green (afterlife) 

During the night his hair is very vibrant practically glowing like stars and during the day it looks very pale and pastel

Empires smp pony au part 1 oli

Oli’s pony name is lutetium but everyone calls him lute for short he is a descendant of princess platinum but nobody believes him

Oli’s cutie mark is a music note being blown about by a gust of wind because he is a drifter and was tossed from his world to another one and he just went with it

also his genius/knowledge/music is under appreciated and fades into the background it’s just like air always there but you only notice it when it’s gone

I was thinking about adding grian to the god au but I am unsure if I should I mean he did make a guest appearance on empires and I have an hilarious idea on how to fit him in so here it is 

Grian is not a god but he isn’t mortal he is an anomaly a being with a soul that looks like it should be mortal but that jimmy is unable to retrieve for unknowable reasons 

Grian isn’t a god but everyone with the exception of jimmy and oli believes him to be the god of chaos 

Oli knows that grian isn’t the god of chaos because he is the actual god of chaos not that anyone believes him they all think he is some startup god with only the domain over music under his belt but he is so much more

Jimmy collects souls he knows the difference between immortality and mortality but whenever he tells someone they refute him by reminding him that grian is still alive after all this time meaning he is undeniably immortal and it drives jimmy crazy

Grian take great joy in messing with jimmy so when people call him the god of chaos he doesn’t correct them and he just keeps letting them believe it 

He’s not even lying he’s just not denying it sometimes even feeding the rumors by making vague comments about how he’s just so gosh darn chaotic typical chaotic me am I right 

when he and jimmy are in the same room every other sentence will have the word chaos in it

Empires smp god au seablings

Lizzie is the second oldest god she started out as just an ocean god with only one domain under her belt and for a while she was alone

with time life grew in her ocean but unfortunately they were only single celled organisms who she could not hold a proper conversation

So she continued her lonely life until the first death which resulted in Jimmy the god of death making his first appearance leaving Lizzie shocked

because up until then she thought that there was nobody capable of communicating with her but at the same Time she was happy to not be alone anymore

Pearl has a strong dislike of Scott 

after all it was her idea to create the night and day cycle but it was Scott that got the credit and addition to his power

It’s not that People don’t know that pearl came up with the idea but that part is glossed over and is often told as pearl having had the idea but Scott was the one that gathered the others and made it a reality 

But the thing that Scott did that enraged Pearl the most was making it so stars could die 

Scott’s reason for creating dying stars was to let jimmy the death god feel more included 

You see Unlike other gods who have many different and complex domains that expand and transform over time

jimmy since the day he came into existence has only had one unchanging domain 

death 

Because of that he is incapable of joining in and helping the others in their creative endeavors 

I’m undecided on whether or not flower husbands are in the au but it’s clear that Scott has a soft spot for jimmy or at the very least feels really bad for him 

 pearl has never forgotten how Scott took her proudest accomplishment and twisted it into something that destroys it self

Before there was anything there was nothing but silence the only word that could possibly describe what it was like 

It was silent for a long time until suddenly there was a big bang it was the loudest sound that would ever be and the first in existence

chaos and inanity and sound sprang forth

And That is when The first god was born 

He was rocketed too the furthest edge of the universe and it took him millions of years to reach earth and meet other gods 

He is the voice at the back of your mind the unavoidable intrusive thoughts and the reason the quiet is so uncomfortable the reason we feel unsettled by the silence 

Off course there is a thing called comfortable silence and the reason for it’s existence is that oli made it as a thank you gift for sausage who was the first god other than himself he met and the first to offer him a welcome upon his arrival 

he made the comfortable silence that only happens when doing something you love or are in the presence of someone you love 

He gave sausages domain the ability to shine through his in limited amounts

Joel is the youngest of the gods and was once a human but his wife lizzie cashed in a favor from Katherine to ask shubble to give him some of her domain

You see gods are born with one domain but usually (with one exception) gain more or completely change their domains as they grow so

because he was a human he needed more then the others to jumpstart his immortal life so not only did lizzie give her storm and vapor aspects to him but she used the favor to get stubble to give him her god of animals aspect 

Jimmy hated Joel at first because he is the death god and he thought it was unjust that a human was exempt from death 

Joel dresses like a Roman but he is an artist and has some wild in him so he has punk inspiration sprinkled into his outfit

Empires smp god au day and night myth

When People tell the story of day and night they usually either attribute its creation to fwhip god of fire because fire and stars were humanity’s first tools or scott the god of cycles and time who was the one to oversee the project

But in actuality it was pearls idea

As the god of harvest she loved the farmers and the comman men in the fields

And She saw how they spent their days tired and overworked so she went to Scott and proposed an idea 

Day and night a daily cycle that would make it easier to keep track of time

Lizzie was against it because she is the god of government including the problematic aspects and she didn’t like the idea that people would get breaks plus the humans used looked to the tides and floods to tell the time back then 

so she new that if a new more accessible way to tell time was created then she would lose some of her domain

She has a bitterness towards Scott because he was the one that ended up with her telling time aspect 

Lizzie wanted to stop the others from finishing but Katherine who was the goddess of order and duality and balance remembered her her roots as the goddess of peace and equality and she loved the idea

But she but knew lizzie would do everything in her power to stop them 

So she offered her a deal step back and not interfere and in return Katherine would owe her a favor

gods never make that kind of offer if they want to pay someone back they do it right away so lizzie couldn’t pass up the opportunity

Other gods also helped pix ws the god of prophecy stories messages and the written word he created the star signs and the myths

His involvement is why people use star signs and birth months to predict what a baby might be like as they age 

False god of adventure and mystery and the unknown and secrets made darkness

And The twins fwhip and gem made the sun

In the end Lizzie adapted and made it so the tide would move accordingly

she tried to milk the situation for anything else that she could gain

I like to think that the gods are living in modern day but they dress in clothes from their favorite time periods

they have all lived for a very long time and they have seen many fashion trends come and go but even as the time passes and fashion evolves they keep the bits they like while adding details that hint at their domains

Jimmy is a cowboy attending a funeral

oli is a medieval bard that has crazy neon colors the bards of the past didn’t have access to in there time

Joel is a Roman toga but a little modernized and artistic

the most up to date with clothes is probably scott he represents the passing of time so he changes his clothes more frequently but not to keep up with

False changes often as well but not to keep up with the trend but instead as the goddess of adventure she loves to try new things and takes inspiration from many different periods she never dresses the same twice but even then she is very practical and casual only choosing to wear clothes she can move around in

Most of them choose a style and stick to it for decades until something new catches their interest

Scott who’s is intertwined within the passing of time changes so his clothes more frequently but not as much as false

pix has the oldest style that doesn’t require him to show a lot of skin probably from Babylon or something really old

so they are very mismatched and look as if they were plucked out wildly different time periods
