I made a thing during last week’s cartooning studio at the @centerforcartoonstudies.
Rudiments of a new comic project; trying to find a good look for a "keeps-low-key-but-is-incredibly-clever" Mycroft Holmes/Commander Gotoh/strategist type of guy.
It seems like I’ve filled half of my last two sketchbooks while waiting in airports or sitting on planes.
Even more time in airports.
Fun fact: In three weeks, I’ve gone through half of a 192-page sketchbook.
Let’s get all Regency up in here.

While trying out the Android app Layer Paint HD, I noticed that it saves to .mdp files! .mdp could be a nice format for tablet art: it supports layers, and the files are much smaller than .psd.
It’s also the native format for several popular desktop apps: MediaBang Paint,FireAlpaca, and ComiLabo/MangaLabo, so it looks like you could work on the same project—using the same files—at home or away.
Update: …except you can’t. It turns out that:
CL/ML can open .mdp files saved by LPHD, but:
LPHD will hang if it tries to open an .mdp file that has been saved by CL/ML.
I haven’t tested files made in MB or FA.
